This decision could mostly be about saving the stock market. In fact, since Donald Trump follows the stock market closer than anything, I think odds are high that he did this to keep it from breaking out to the downside. He's done that numerous times in the past and has bragged over 100 times about how HE IS THE ONE responsible for the stock market's XX new highs in his 2nd term.
