desantis/newsome debate

not a surprise to see DeSantis walk all over a hapless liberal but it was even more one sided than I thought it would be. When Newsome cleaned the hood for a visit from a Commy dictator he had no idea what that would lead to. Made himself even more of a laugh and Desantis took advantage with compare and contrast between him and Newsome and the Caly is compared to Florida. Or in plain English what an adult leader should look like compared to a child.

Thanks much, mcfarm,

Objective sources saw it completely different.

5 takeaways from the fiery DeSantis-Newsom debate on Fox

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4336876-ron-desantis-gavin-newsom-fox-news-debate-sean-hannity-california-florida/

Newsom shows his strengths

Though Newsom often found himself on the defense in a hostile media environment, the California Democrat managed to keep his calm throughout, easily batting away attacks while also lobbing many of his own at DeSantis.

Throughout the debate, Newsom was confident and good-humored, rarely seeming fazed when being attacked by DeSantis or pressed by Hannity, a self-proclaimed conservative.

His debate performance will likely bolster his image as an extremely polished, media-savvy politician who nonetheless knows how to throw a punch when necessary.

By contrast, Hannity gave little pushback to most of DeSantis’s answers or his attacks on the California governor

DeSantis does a decent job — with help from Hannity

DeSantis went into the debate with arguably more at stake than Newsom, since he’s currently running in the GOP presidential primary.

Ultimately, the Florida governor delivered a decent performance, frequently demonstrating his research of the topics at hand and even at times displaying visual aids — including a map of what he said was human excrement in San Francisco — to knock Newsom.

He also landed a couple memorable blows, such as when he labeled Newsom a “liberal bully” or when he mocked his opponent for what he said was Newsom’s “shadow campaign” for the Democratic nomination for president in 2024.

Still, the “red state vs. blue state” debate also felt at times like a two-on-one match-up.

++++++++++

I was shocked that Newsome agreed to take on DeSantis and the moderator at the biased moderator and DeSantis home court and knowing that almost the entire viewing audience was against him. He did it for a dang good reason.

He would never have done that unless he has ambitions to run for president NEXT YEAR!

No way that he is running for president in 2028 and is doing debates with an R running in 2024. That doesn't even make sense.

There is no way that Biden is running in 2024!!!!

not running he says. Well my dear liberal fool Mr small child from Cal. We are dealing with dems. They follow no laws, no rules will apply. Biden will the nominee. Has to be. The dems, no matter what the rules are will then sub Newsome for Biden and just who will stop them?

Objective sources saw it completely different.  By MM. Wow objective? And its quite a badge of honor to see things quite different than our press. And just what to these "objective sources" say about the dem nominee not being the dem nominee?

mcfarm,

If that Was your very first post here, I would know that you’ve likely been watching Fox News in the evening for years.

The impact of Fox on the minds of viewers is unmistakeable.
They sell hatred, intolerance and extreme, one sided agenda.

I disagree with many of Newsome’s positions but give him big credit for agreeing  to a 2 on 1 debate, attack-fest on him.

His composure and holding his own showed he can take the heat and hold his own, which undoubtedly was why he agreed to do it.

You and many other Fox viewers hated his guts before he even opened his mouth.

Fox will make good points at times to hold the other side accountable. But a Fox viewer can’t tell the differece between those good points and the manure because it all sounds exactly the same and always is what viewers want to hear......which is the reason they go to Fox.

Our current D president is one of the worst leaders and most corrupt politicians in history and the Rs, along with Fox should hold him accountable for sure ON THAT TOPIC!

That's happening...........and they are using the authentic facts to do it.

Unlike the phone call nonsense reason for the D's to impeach Trump (who was trying to get the facts on Bidens corruption from Ukraine which the Rs have crystal clearly uncovered).

Look MM I know plenty about Newsome. He has aided greatly in ruining one of greatests states and would very much love to spread his crap all over the rest of the union. California had it all. Population, climate, crops, industry natural resources others could only dream about. And the libs like Newsome came along. Well did you notice the people running for the state lines to leave. Did you notice what that elite snob pulled during covid. There is not much credit to give a guy like that. Showing up? His attendance was for the very reason he is so dislikeable. He spends way to much time bragging about himself, making snarky meaningless comments, does not understand capitalism, business, accounting, public health, taxes, the environment and the list is endless. Yes he is a male Kammala Harris.

Please don't misunderstand me here. D politicians are as dishonest and crooked as they come............but R politicians are NO BETTER.

Non stop castigating of Ds while putting Rs that are at least as bad on a pedestal is applying a completely different standard based on what party you belong too.

You completely and many Rs understand the justice department and others attacking Trump or Rs and protecting Ds and it outrages you.

But that defines you and most of the same ones most outraged over it.

Here's the thing. It's based on human subjectively and cognitive bias which is greatly amplified by the thousands of places that people intentionally select for their key "go to" information because those sources  tell people what they want to read/hear for their self serving interests.

It causes people to view the world with tunnel vision and defines what their "truth" is.

In today's world, there is often an AUTHENTIC truth that one side uses based on facts, and solid evidence. And a MANUFACTURED REALITY truth with distorted interpretations which sound just as convincing to PEOPLE THAT WANT TO BELIEVE IT. This serves as the perceived truth of the other side of the AUTHENTIC truth.

Both sides truths  are equally convinced that THEY stand for the authentic truth.

When one side knows the authentic facts, they can easily see the flawed arguments in the other side believing in the Manufactured reality because they FACT CHECK and question everything the other side does.

In realms where THEY'RE side has the manufactured reality, they are NEVER able to see the same flaws they can see in those that disagree with them.  By definition of their belief system, their side has it right and get's a free pass on everything.

The other side has everything wrong on everything.

I'm totally aware that most people who do this, are not going to read this post and look in the mirror defining their thinking and think "wow, that makes sense"

Having that thinking actually sabotages the ability to see that we have that thinking.

THAT thinking tells us that we are always right and there is no need to reflect on why we might be wrong or to look objectively and in open minded fashion at solid points made by people that disagree with us.

However, the AUTHENTIC scientific method does require that. In order to have confidence in your theory or belief that its valid, one must first sincerely scrutinize it and TRY TO PROVE ITS WRONG. When you fail to sincerely try to prove yourself wrong.......only then do you know that you must be right!

Human cognitive bias does the opposite.

It tells us that we are right from the get go and causes us to interpret all new information based on that.

1. If it lines up with what we THINK that we know..........its stored as knowledge to reinforce what we think that we know.

2. If it contradicts what we THINK that we know.........it gets rejected. EVEN when its the truth.

Since this accurately defines an authentic truth of human behavior which impacts everybody, including me that has to constantly apply the scientific method to offset innate, human cognitive bias, the message above has the chance to resonate with SOME people.

That's the objective. NOT to judge or condemn people for acting this way. We all suffer from this to one degree or another.

However, there are ways to better ourselves IF we want to pursue that path. We're all given freedom to choose in realms like this. That's the coolest thing about living, especially in the United State.

Nobody can MAKE us think the way that we think. Sources we use can present convincing propaganda, DISinformation, false narratives and conspiracy theories that GREATLY APPEAL to our belief system and are designed to capture our brains(steal our intelligence) for their political agenda.

It's actually very unpleasant for many people to consider that they might be wrong on key issues and the "ignorance is bliss" path is chosen.

On the other hand "the truth will set you free" profoundly defines what most people, in their hearts would like to stand for. We all want to stand for what's right and against what's wrong.

Here's another profound item.

1. We learn MUCH, MUCH MORE when discovering things that WE DIDN'T KNOW and CORRECTING things that we thought we knew based on flawed thinking in a political ideology.

2. We learn very little by having things that we think that we know repeated over and over to reassure us that we are right about everything.

The path with #2 is the easy road. The path with #1 is much tougher and often psychologically  painful but always the most rewarding because it ALWAYS results in the most growth for us as human beings.

++++++++++++++++++

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/95310/#95339

When people really WANT to believe something, almost  no amount of profoundly overwhelming evidence contradicting it will change that. Their brain interprets the truth as a Lie.  Their brains have been taught to believe a lie is the truth from repetition. Their brains are unable to recognize  things which contradict how their brains define the truth Because those things are  automatically rejected based on their brains previously  framed realities. Most of the time, once  that brain has been taught to believe in something, especially if its a tenant of a belief system …you can bombard that person with authentic contradicting facts to kingdom come but it’s a waste of time!

Gavin Newsom's Fox performance sets X-witter on FIRE

That’s my governor right there.

If you weren’t able or willing to stomach watching Faux News to see Gavin Newsom give both Hannity and DeSantis a spanking. You missed something.

But Twitter noticed.

+++++++++++++

Again, I don't agree with several items this guy stands for, especially his fake climate crisis and catastrophically bad  fake green energy agenda. Cheap, reliable, abundant, efficient and extremely dense(power packed)  fossil fuels are the life blood for most developed economies. So that issue should be at the top when considering an agenda.

DESPITE THIS, I noted that Newsom put in a dang good performance  in the lions den battling his opponent AND the moderator.

He's a slick, charismatic, fast talking and convincing sounding politician that can't be trusted is also how I feel. In today's age.........that makes him very qualified to be  president.

Chance of Newsom running in 2024?

95% and rising!

Trump, right now seems young compared to Biden. Age will be extremely important in the 2024 presidential election and would be the biggest drag of all on the Ds of all the factors if Biden ran(will NEVER happen).

Putting your thinking caps on.

Trump vs Gavin Newson.

Suddenly, Trump looks like the old, washed up old man trying to overextend his time his stay in politics (like Joe Biden, Mitch McConnell and Diane Feinstein).

AGE will be more important in the 2024 presidential election than at any other time in history by an extremely wide margin.

AGE will kill Biden's chances.

AGE will give Newsom millions of additional votes.

That's why Newsom will be the man on the D ticket in November 2024. 95% chance and rising fast.

Last week's debate is why its rising especially fast.
