'We'll believe Putin's withdrawal when we see it': NATO cautiously declares victory in battle to stop Russia invading Ukraine while Moscow claims it has 'disgraced' the West - hours after US intelligence warned troops were in 'attack positions'

  • NATO chief says room for 'cautious optimism' around Ukraine after Russia said it is withdrawing some troops
  • Kiev remains skeptical, with the defence minister warning: 'Don't believe what you hear, believe what you see'
  • Russian announcement came hours after Washington warned tanks were moving into final attack positions
  • Observers and those on the ground say they have not seen any evidence yet of Russian forces moving away
  • Olaf Scholz is in Moscow for face-to-face talks with Putin, the latest leader to try and de-escalate the crisis
  • https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10513527/Putin-step-Russian-tanks-artillery-seen-moving-Ukraine-attack-positions.html

metmike: I'm not believing anything. They made up the fake climate crisis(its a climate optimum) for politics and profits and could be making up or spinning most of this as just  propaganda for their latest political scheme.

Maybe it's true but the sources have extremely low credibility for me in this world of manufactured realities to brainwash people into believing false narratives that are repeated over and over with rhetoric that cements beliefs into peoples heads based on effective thought conditioning principles of psychology.

The latest on the Ukraine-Russia border crisis

https://www.cnn.com/europe/live-news/ukraine-russia-news-02-18-22-intl/index.html

"The US secretary of state warned the UN that Russia is planning to manufacture a justification for an attack.

On another day of diplomacy, US Vice President Kamala Harris is attending the Munich Security Conference where she is expected to meet with Ukraine's president."

How is it that they keep telling us what Russia is going to do before Russia does it? I don't know this but that's exactly  what entities/people do when THEY are using propaganda and trying to control people's thinking with (false) narratives. A constant barrage of hearing that Russia is on the verge of attacking every single day(as well as telling us that Russia is planning to make stuff up and whatever they say is made up)........then, when there is a conflict, people's mind's have already accepted that it was Russia that started it.

Kamala Harris meeting with head's of other country's on critical issues is a scary thought. She is NOT qualified in my opinion.

Note that Biden just announced that he thinks that Russia has decided to invade the Ukraine AFTER the stock futures had just closed. I bet that was intentional to avoid causing them to drop more before the weekend.

Any other opinions about this timing?

Biden keeps knowing what Putin is going to do?

Biden and NATO have decided what narratives and propaganda, along with the timing that  will work best to vilify Russia and win the war of public perception. Russia is always the aggressor and evil in every single narrative and NATO is the good guy and by some incredible stroke of brilliance is able to tell us in detail what Russia's evil plans are before Putin even knows.

They have actually stated numerous times that "Putin doesn't even know what he's going to do yet". That's a huge tip off that it's NATO that being dishonest.

If Putin had the objective that they claim he does, he would know dang well what his own plan is.

There's a ton more political stuff going on here that nobody is being told about.

Russia’s Proposed Climate Plan Means Higher Emissions Through 2050

https://www.wri.org/insights/russias-proposed-climate-plan-means-higher-emissions-through-2050

Under the base scenario, emissions will increase from current levels to peak in 2030. Even after subsequent reductions, emissions by 2050 would be higher than current levels.

Why would Russia be against the Climate Accord, NATO, the United Nations and others trying to "save the planet" from the fake climate crisis by obliterating fossil fuel use?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_in_Russia

Russia is rich in energy resources. Russia has the largest known natural gas reserves of any state on earth, along with the second largest coal reserves, and the eighth largest oil reserves. This is 32% of world proven natural gas reserves (23% of the probable reserves), 12% of the proven oil reserves, 10% of the explored coal reserves (14% of the estimated reserves) and 8% of the proven uranium reserves.[6]

With recent acquisitions, Russia has gained assets in the Black Sea that may be worth trillions of dollars,

A war on fossil fuels is a war on Russia's biggest source of income and productivity.

In addition, in this very cold country, the positives of climate change/global warming and increase in the beneficial gas, CO2 are maximized.

Putin would be shooting his country in both feet by going along with destroying what his country leads the world in........fossil fuel production(ng-#1, coal-#2, oil-#8).

Putin is a NATIONALIST of course he will NEVER agree to do something so stupid to his country.

Some recent statements attributed to Putin that suggest that he is finally coming around are a joke.

They are a combination of Putin trying to pacify others with empty words and those others being either totally naive or on board board with the intentional deception.

Putin WILL NEVER BE ON BOARD WITH such an absurd idea that kills off his cash cow and obliterates his countries economy.

Ukraine also has a decent amount of  proven natural gas reserves and  other fossil fuels.

While its impossible to get an objective, science based/honest study on the real affects of each country going forward, even the most dire forecasts for gloom and doom predict that Russia will BENEFIT from global warming.

Again, Putin is a Nationalist and no matter what he says, every body that understands this, including all world leaders and those in NATO and the UN KNOW that he is not going to undercut his own country's success with actions that will damage his country's dominance in fossil fuels.......with the objective in doing that........to stop his country from gaining even MORE benefits from global warming.

Here's the truth/reality.

Note that in all those places with dark red on the previous map that are supposed to have the greatest damage from CO2 increases and global warming..........haven't had as much warming on the map below of actual measurements/observations of the real planet...... and will continue to not have that much global warming.

Africa is supposed to be obliterated.......but their temperature has hardly changed!!

At the same time, their crop yields are benefiting from atmospheric, agricultural fertilization.

Note that all the areas on the previous map with green...........are the areas that have been experiencing the greatest global warming by far.....and will continue to benefit the most.

So you think that this can't possibly have anything to do with the war on fossil fuels?

Why, because nobody is telling you that has alot to do with it?

Of course not. They are going about it this way.

There's a near 0 chance to ever get Putin to wreck his country by agreeing to the war on fossil fuels.

And if the world saw the studies...........global warming is good for Russia......Russia is a world leader in fossil fuel production/profits....Putin is a Nationalist..............he would get tremendous sympathy for doing what is clearly best for Russia.

This way, they can destroy his credibility and vilify him.

Then, when he fights the political agenda to get rid of fossil fuels.......the world can say "It's that evil Putin!" He is always wrong.

But the world has an even bigger challenge.

How do they manage this?

Actually, no problemo because China and India do not have to cut emissions like the developed countries, including Russia.

China and India and many other countries poor countries are considered UNdeveloped nations and don't have to cut emissions.........seriously.

In fact, they GET our money( from developed countries) based on the agreements of all the countries in the accord.  That's actually the REAL reason for the Climate Accord, which will do almost nothing to affect the climate but will spread the wealth from rich to poor countries.

Russia is considered a developed/rich country but they will NEVER follow the rules that hurt them the most(again, they are all for Russia-not the world)..........going along with the UN/NATO and Climate Accord......cutting emissions/production of fossil fuels and paying billions to the Climate Fund that goes to the poor countries like China and India.

Those are rock solid facts!

How much is playing into this current conflict is speculative on my part.

For sure some but is it the most important element or just additive? For sure they are not telling you the truth that I just proved to you.

It also explains some extremely odd narratives coming from the NATO side that somehow knows things before they happen......and are using pre emptive narratives as propaganda to lead our minds to believe what they want us to believe.........well before it happens.

India questions China’s claim of being a developing nation; all you need to know

https://www.cnbctv18.com/world/india-questions-chinas-claim-of-being-a-developing-nation-all-you-need-to-know-12024502.htm

"According to the World Trade Organisation website, countries with the developing country status enjoy certain rights such as longer transition periods for implementing agreements and technical assistance.(with regards to the Climate Accord, it means getting money not giving it and not having to cut emissions)

On account of the rapid economic progress, the US has been demanding that India and China voluntarily give up the benefits offered to developing countries at the WTO. However, both the countries have opposed the move."

The fact is that some of the billions of dollars the US contributes to the Climate fund will go to China, supposedly to help them to adapt to the climate that we supposedly wrecked..........even as they emit 2 times the amount of CO2 that we do(right now) with impunity, soon to be 3 and 4 times our emissions.

So Russia has a dang good case for not being on board with that crap.

Again, the reasons are:

1. Global warming is especially good for Russia.

2. Russia is a rich country BECAUSE of its massive fossil fuel production. Russia is supposed to drastically CUT there production/emissions.

3. Because Russia is considered a rich country, they also have to pay billions to the Green Climate Fund that goes to countries like China/India.

4. Russia is a Nationalist country.

5. They are the only major fossil fuel emitter/producer considered a developed country that will not fall in line with the Climate Accord.

Surveys show Russian nationalism is on the rise. This explains a lot about the country’s foreign and domestic politics.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2016/05/30/surveys-show-russian-nationalism-is-on-the-rise-this-explains-a-lot-about-the-countrys-foreign-and-domestic-politics/

This discussion below explains the real reason for why Russia is the enemy of the political interests of the  West/NATO/UN.

Their nationalism is totally opposed to global socialism which is the only reason that the Climate Accord exists.

The Rise of Economic Nationalism under Globalization and the Case of Post-Communist Russia

https://geohistory.today/economic-nationalism-globalization-russia/

The Kremlin systematically reacquired large portions of Russia’s energy resources and deployed them as tools of international statecraft and to fund the projects and reforms of the state.[43] Assigning control over the new state corporations to trusted members of his administration, Putin began to control economic development through state supervision and gained valuable authority over the pricing and delivery of energy supplies. Much of the profits from Russia’s natural resources now go to the state treasury to be used for domestic programs. The Kremlin can also, at least theoretically, influence the politics of foreign countries by controlling the delivery of and, to a large extent, the price of gas on the international market. This gives the Kremlin some control over a major part of the economies of foreign states and, through that control, some influence on popular political support for foreign leaders. Russian popular support for these policies has been unparalleled and is seen largely as the personal brain-child of Putin. Putin’s party, United Russia, now controls a large majority in the State Duma and Federation Council and holds the most unified governmental authority since Soviet times.

  • Consequences of Nationalist Rhetoric

The last decade of Russian politics has witnessed a revival of officially supported nationalist ideology. From laws limiting employment opportunities for migrant workers to the creation of a “Day of National Unity,” the state has shown its support for renewed pride in Russian citizenship. However, these actions have opened up a political space for radical and xenophobic parties to capitalize on this upsurge in nationalist sentiment. In a recent poll by the independent Levada Center, for example, “half of the 1,880 respondents said they would support banning natives of the Caucasus from living in Russia.”[44] It is important to note that the Caucasuses themselves are partly within the territory of Russia. Violence against ethnic minorities has increased dramatically over the last five years.[45]

Encouraging nationalist sentiments to bolster economic policies can have radical consequences. By directly and indirectly supporting nationalist parties and doctrines, the Kremlin has opened the door for radical and xenophobic parties. The creation of internal and external enemies may have short-term benefits in uniting a populace and thus encouraging economic growth, but it can also have long-term negative consequences by contributing to animosities between groups of citizens within a state. Problems arise when a state actively encourages these sentiments without placing limits on their development.

The Kremlin has attempted to create such limits over the last few months, with several official programs designed to increase discussion of “Russianness” and minimize the damaging effects of the nationalism. As noted above, a certain level of nationalism is needed to unite a populace towards economic and political goals. However, the definition of “Russianness” inserted an exclusive, ethnic component into this economic nationalism. The active facilitation of intolerance, hatred and racism as integral parts of that nationalism has created immeasurable problems in the populace. Russia finds itself in the particularly difficult position of needing a strong, self-confident national identity to drive economic development, while also wishing to prevent violent manifestations in which supposed enemies are physically targeted.

Conclusion

As a theory to counteract the perceived injustices and insecurities caused by globalization, economic nationalism has emerged as a popular and powerful theory that is supported by wide and diverse constituencies looking to preserve their cultural heritage and expand their state’s international power. Nation-states must concentrate on building economic prowess in order to maintain or strengthen their international influence. However, the consequences of encouraging economic nationalism can involve the radicalization of politics and the persecution of segments of the national population, which can lead to fragmentation and eventual political and, hence, economic instability within a state. How this will play out in Russia and other countries where economic nationalist policies are being implemented is yet to be seen.

metmike: There is no denying that Putin is a bad guy, so is the president of China. One would think that China's massive CO2 emissions would be the biggest problem for the Climate Accord........but that's only if the Accord really cared about CO2 emissions. By calling China a developed country, they allow them to increase emissions more than the cuts from the rest of the world.......proving that they don't really care about the CO2 emissions.

They mainly want rich countries to donate trillions to poor countries and commit to CO2 cuts that would also cause a more level playing field(get rid of cheap, reliable, abundant fossil fuels).

Putin and Russia are entirely by themselves in not going  along and if fact, making it tougher for everybody.

Thanks Joj,

Tim has been on vacation this last week, traveling in his RV.

I agree that Putin is a bad person and him invading Ukraine is a bad thing.

I should also have noted that I would be on board with almost all of NATO/UN/Climate Accords objectives to spread the wealth and good things from the developed countries to the undeveloped countries. Helping the poor/less fortunate/uneducated in the world is a top priority that I've personally embraced.

Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

However, I'm also for the truth.

Doing something like hijacking climate science(my profession) and lying about a climate crisis and the cause of the weather, is always going to cause me to strongly oppose your propaganda.

You're well aware that my personal opinion of Trump is that he's one of the lowest humans that has ever walked the earth.

However, since it started and to this day, I'm still compelled to defend him when corruption persecuted him with a manufactured Witch hunt attack for 2.5 years:

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/80894/#80939

Maybe I should also list all the evil things that Putin has done so you realize I know he's a bad guy.

However, just like it was easy to conduct a manufactured attack on Trump, because of how people perceived him,  using false narratives between him and Russia about diabolical actions as a traitor and bad intentions..........they are doing the same thing with Putin.

The ones that hated Trump fell for every iota of the propaganda...which they dragged out for 2.5 years so that it maximized the time frame of the false narratives before we got to see that they never had anything against Trump from the get go(and the majority had already formed their opinions).

They were targeting Trump for a reason. I'm not saying at all that Putin is innocent here but I see similar tactics and statement that sound much more like propaganda intended to vilify Putin.

It worked extremely well against Trump. The same tactic didn't just suddenly vanish from powers trying to control the people. It's been well known forever. Now, they get to use the powerful technology in today's age to communicate the propaganda..........and the ones that believe it all..........ARE THE TARGETS.

There doesn't appear to be a sincere effort at all to do any sort of diplomacy. This is absolutely not how you get your opponent to the negotiating table........by trying to demean and discredit them in front of the world.

Their tactics, actually would be more like somebody that is trying to draw Putin into a war and continually predict a war, over and over and blame it on Putin for weeks before it happens.............planting the idea that Putin started a war weeks before it happens

Are these world leaders, extremely political by nature and with a long history of deceiving people for political reasons, especially Biden,  suddenly on the level about Putin and have a crystal ball into his future behavior?

Are they unaware that they can basically say anything they want and the world will believe them and NOT believe Putin and are not taking advantage of that fact?

In today's world(and much of the past), people at the top, got there by knowing how to manipulate the masses.

This defined everything about the Mueller investigation and one side believed all of it.

It allowed them to go after bad guys(Trump and associates) with impunity because people's minds accepted everything because of the cognitive bias which existed.

They are doing the exact same thing with Putin.

I'm just not sure to what extent.

Not likely to the extent of the Mueller investigation with Trump, where it was mostly  concocted to obliterate him.

But Putin is definitely being targeted using propaganda with impunity here and there's a major background relationship between him, the UN/NATO and the Climate Accord playing a significant role.

In fact,  they go exactly hand and hand.

Makes me look like I'm defending Putin.........but I'm just defending the truth.

Which also includes feeling that Putin is in fact an evil person and narcissist that only cares about the best interest of things that make him and Russia more powerful.

They're using very similar  brainwashing tactics in each case to get people to believe in things that don't exist. This situation with Russia does exist but my point is that they appear to be distorting realities.........LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO to manufacture dynamics based on what they want people to think.

The most interesting aspect of this is that in those realms mentioned on the last page, you will have most of the people from one party that immediately recognize when people from the opposite party are falling hook, line and sinker for the propaganda of the other party. Even smart people are falling for it and dumb people from the other side can see how obvious the scam is.

It's not always intelligence or knowledge that determines what you believe. Often, it's cognitive bias. Each party lines up with a belief system, by definition that establishes a cognitive bias which makes them always vulnerable to believe almost EVERYTHING that comes from their party.

Their party knows that and people trying to control thoughts know that..........and they're masters at accomplishing it.

Often, the propaganda targets people that line up more with one side than the other intentionally. The 2020 election results are an extreme version of that.

The Mueller investigation/Russia Collusion was also extremely political but the opposite political party mostly bought into it.

At other times, the propaganda is intended to affect EVERYONE but people with the belief system of 1 party will be more prone to buy into it.

Liberals are more likely to believe in the climate crisis but some from the other side do too.

On the climate crisis. We are actually destroying the planet..........but NOT from that:

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/81776/#81800

The same side that believed the Russia Collusion bs also finds it easier to swallow propaganda that features Russia as evil.

Again, I believe Russia IS evil..............but can often tell the difference between propaganda and authentic facts.

I'm honestly not sure how much is propaganda this time because data and facts to reveal that are not available to us........some for sure.

NATO’s Renewed Focus on Climate Change & Security: What You Need to Know

June 23, 2021

https://www.justsecurity.org/77055/natos-renewed-focus-on-climate-change-security-what-you-need-to-know/

NATO’s focus on climate change is also completely aligned with President Biden’s Interim National Security Strategy, a key, strategic-level national security planning document where “climate” is mentioned 27 times.

file:///C:/Users/Basement/AppData/Local/Temp/SSRN-id3456258.pdf

Every single time I follow the critical evidence, it comes down to NATO, the UN, the Climate Accord objectives and all of those opposing Russia's best interests in the future with regards to fossil fuels.

Just to repeat.

1. Global warming is especially GOOD for Russia.

2. Russia is near the top in global fossil fuel production and it's the life blood of its economy...even more than the US(which also has the anti fossil fuel Biden agenda). The war on fossil fuels by NATO is a war on Russia's way of life.

3. Nationalism

Will Russia ever leave fossil fuels behind?

https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20211115-climate-change-can-russia-leave-fossil-fuels-behind

"Overall in Russia, oil and gas provided 39% of the federal budget revenue and made up 60% of Russian exports in 2019." They are #2 in the world for coal too.

On Russian climate CO2 emissions plan: "This means that in reality, Russia's low-carbon development strategy plans at least a 0.6% increase in emissions from today's levels by 2030. The international research group Climate Action Tracker says Russia's policies and actions are "highly insufficient" for a 1.5C pathway, and closer in line with a 4C world."

Time for Ukraine to exit Russia’s energy empire

https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/ukrainealert/time-for-ukraine-to-exit-russias-energy-empire/

"According to a 2017 report on transportation by Stanford University’s Tony Seba and James Arbib, the coming adoption of EVs as the preferred mode of transportation will soon impact demand enough to trigger a permanent fall in oil prices (and a 30% drop in production by 2030), posing an existential threat to many oil producers worldwide. The economic and geopolitical implications of this massive disruption should strike Russia hard, and Ukraine should take advantage of this."

"Russia’s income from energy exports will likely continue to fall in the future. The repercussions for Russia, which has built a fossil fuel energy empire, will be grim. Time is on Ukraine’s side. The trend is clear, and the trend is Ukraine’s friend."

Putin doesn't want the Ukraine to be part of the pact which will obliterate the value of Russia's lifeblood..........fossil fuels.

You will note that not 1 source (that I can find) describes it this way and instead, we get propaganda from 1 side meant entirely to vilify evil Russia.

Putin is evil and only concerned about Russia's best interest in the future........Putin is the leader of Russia after all.

But  they can't be honest and tell us the real reason because it opposes the climate crisis narrative.

If people saw the facts..........Russia will benefit from global warming based on EVERYBODY's science and their life blood is fossil fuels.....so why wouldn't he be vehemently against the world trying to wreck his own country...........and about the only thing that he can do to protect those interests.............is what he's doing right now.

This is the wrong way to go about it for Russia but they refuse to negotiate with regards to Putins main demand.........Ukraine not join forces with the countries that will obliterate Russia's future.

It would cause people to use their critical thinking and question the false narratives about the climate crisis destroying the planet if the expressed it in these terms.

There should be negotiations but the West won't negotiate, other than pretending.

They are in control of the climate crisis agenda and have the entire world behind them(almost).

Either you join them, like Biden did the day that he took office.......or they will run you over......no negotiating. Ukraine is going to be part of this pact too..... no ifs ands or butts and no negotiating with Putin over it.

Putin sees Europe running out of natural gas and being dependent on Russia's natural gas and thinks this gives him negotiating power and there is so much at stake for the future of his country here.

But NATO says.....no deal, Ukraine is joining with us.

To Russia/Putin, this is becoming aa member of the alliance which will obliterate Russia's future and life blood.........it's rich fossil fuel/energy resources.

Why NATO Is at the Center of the Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Russia continues to amass troops on the Ukrainian border, threatening an invasion. One of Russia's demands is that Ukraine never join NATO, the longstanding Western alliance. WSJ's Yaroslav Trofimov explains NATO's history with Russia, and why President Vladimir Putin considers its expansion a threat.

"Yaroslav Trofimov: Russia sees NATO as an alliance whose primary aim is to make Russia weaker, and so it sees any expansion of NATO as a direct threat to its own interests."

metmike: They continue to ignore the biggest reality of all which will weaken Russia the most......THE CLIMATE ACCORD, by a wide margin. As I proved earlier, NATO's mission statement is playing a key role in that, which will define all of the country's that belong.

This is the biggest reason that Putin doesn't want Ukraine in NATO.

I don't have this view because I'm obsessed with interpreting everything thru the fake climate crisis lens....it's the complete opposite.

My view is based on all the crystal clear objective facts.

Biden and NATO want you to think this is entirely about Putin denying people and this country their freedoms to choose what they want to do. I agree that they should have that freedom.

But they don't tell you the other part of the story...........what Ukraine will do after they sign up with NATO....be part of force that will 100% for certain, engage in agenda that WILL hurt Russia's life blood fossil fuel energy interests.

I actually would be extremely outspoken about Putin having this nationalistic view just to protect his country and hurt the world.

But the fact is...........he's using the authentic, objective science that features the planet greening up and us having a climate optimum NOT a climate crisis.

Using military force is never acceptable in a situation like this. But there is another side of the story, that's different than the propaganda that NATO is feeding us.

Seems to me that this particular problem is exactly the one that China has with the West.

China is building more coal powered power plants and increasing CO2 emissions because they know that reliable, power dense and abundant fossil fuels are also the life blood of their economy.

Their energy source is a key to their success. They are in almost the  same boat as Russia with regards to energy use, benefits of global warming and being an extremely nationalist country that is not going to make huge sacrifices that damage their country for the good of the planet(that they know is really a fake climate crisis).

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/81701/#81946

https://www.marketforum.com/forum/topic/81701/#81947

The one difference is that the West/Climate Accord has given China a free pass  but Russia has to pay the piper because Russia is a "developed country" and China is an "undeveloped country"

This is sort of laughable. As if China can continue to increase their emissions of CO2 and somehow CO2 from China and India will not kill the planet..........but CO2 from the US and Russia will kill the planet.

You have to assume that if you look at how the Climate Accord is written.

The Climate Accord is just a political document that's hijacked climate science to accomplish its objectives!

I don't see how this doesn't end up driving Russia and China to form a close alliance to fight against those objectives(which only hurt THEIR countries) so they strengthen their own interests.

It would have already happened years ago, if the West didn't cut China a huge, undeserved break by calling it an undeveloped/poor country in the Climate Accord.

This was done intentionally by Obama to claim that he got China to sign up with the Climate Accord.

Obama: Hey China, if you sign up with our global Climate Accord, you don't have to cut emissions until 2030 and we'll give you money every year(to adapt to the climate that we wrecked).

We just want one thing in return.

To be able to say that you are in it with the rest of us and part of the agreement to deal with the climate crisis.

This FAKE agreement with China as part of the Accord is absolute proof that its not science at all and has been purely political from day 1.

Russia and China Unveil a Pact Against America and the West

In a sweeping long-term agreement, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, the two most powerful autocrats, challenge the current political and military order.

https://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/russia-and-china-unveil-a-pact-against-america-and-the-west

“This is a pledge to stand shoulder to shoulder against America and the West, ideologically as well as militarily,” Daly said. “This statement might be looked back on as the beginning of Cold War Two.” The timing and clarity of the communiqué—amid tensions on Russia’s border with Europe and China’s aggression around Taiwan—will “give historians the kind of specific event that they often focus on.”

Beyond security, the declaration also pledged collaboration on space, climate change, the Internet, and artificial intelligence. Politically, the document claimed that there is “no one-size-fits-all” type of democracy, and heralded both forms of authoritarian rule in Moscow and Beijing as successful democracies"

metmike: Since CO2 is extremely well mixed in the global atmosphere. This means that China's continuing to increase CO2 emissions (along with India, its allowed in the climate accord) but Russia is a top emitter too and they are NOT going to cut emissions.

Again, this doesn't matter because the Climate Accord was NEVER about the climate it was always about politics.

However, their anti science fake climate crisis has just resulted in horrible global consequences.......causing 2 of the most powerful countries on the planet.........both from evil empires, that know its a complete fraud, to fight against it by forming an alliance against the country's for it.

Ironically, regardless of how evil these rulers are, they are actually basing their countries energy policies on authentic science and the other side is using a fake climate crisis.

This was in the middle of last week:

Biden says he expects Putin will go through with Ukraine invasion within days

He spoke to reporters as he was leaving the White House on a trip to Ohio.

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/biden-expects-putin-ukraine-invasion-days/story?id=82954609

Then, Biden told us on Friday that Russia had already decided to invade:

Joe Biden says he is ‘convinced’ Putin has already decided to invade Ukraine

Biden Says Putin Has Chosen ‘Catastrophic’ War Over Diplomacy

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/18/us/politics/biden-ukraine-russia.html

then earlier on Sunday, they changed it to this:

Biden and Putin agree in principle to meet if Russia does not invade Ukraine

Final decision hinges on outcome of scheduled talks between U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Actually, they started saying this 2 weeks ago:

Putin could attack Ukraine on Feb. 16, Biden told allies

By ALEXANDER WARD and QUINT FORGEY

Then he said this:

Ukraine tensions: Russia invasion could begin any day, US warns

12 February

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-60355295

Then he said all the other things above. After no attack, adjusting the goal posts to say NOW they really will be attacking and THIS TIME, I really mean it.

metmike: It's February 21, 2022. All those dates have passed............no attacks by Putin and now its changed to them negotiating.

Their statements earlier this month sounded/read  like propaganda intended to vilify and demean Putin and NOT negotiate. Now its obvious that it was. I don't believe anything anymore.

Will we be told now that their tactics saved us from an inevitable war with a maniac determined to invade Ukraine but somehow, they managed to change his mind with their brilliant display of whatever it is they're doing right now?

What they're doing is to say things to convince us to think what they want us to think.

They keep missing their predictions........because, either they didn't really know and pretended/thought that they did orrrrr, they  really knew and told us something different to program our minds with the propaganda.

In the Boy that cried Wolf, the village people stopped believing the the boy after a few times of him making it up.

Will the Russian wolf come now, finally like in the story and like they've been insisting will happen or was this part of the plan all along to make us think that the invasion was miraculously stopped by the wonderful West/NATO and Biden?

Make no mistake.

Russia and Putin are absolutely the bad guys and the ones that must be restrained.

However, the good guys are supposed to be honest, with reliable information and NOT use propaganda to bolster their case against the bad guys.

Regardless. The world has a huge problem now because its political agenda has caused 2 evil forces to join up.........Russia and China because they don't agree with some of the policies, especially those based on a fake climate crisis.

Regardless of how this turns out this time (hopefully good).

China and Russia are never going to fall in line with the Climate Accord, NATO and the UN.

India gets to increase their emissions (that cause global emissions to go up) and get paid money for being in the accord for a long time(remaining as undeveloped), so I think they're on our side for good.

But this Russia/China thing looks permanent based on how very far apart the other side is on many things, especially energy/climate.

on feb. 11, Biden telling the world that Putin was going to attack on feb. 16 has got to be one of the dumbest things ever stated during a war or potential war.

then continuing to insist that Putin has already decided.

now it’s feb 21 and all Putin had to do was not attack as Biden insisted to make Biden look like he had no idea what he was talking about.

any world leader would know this so he must have been announcing this for another reason because he’s not that dumb.

was this a strategy to keep Putin from attacking?

That would be an interesting strategy……say that he will attack so that he won’t attack and make yourself look dumb, instead of focusing on negotiating at that time.

The world has a permanent problem. Russia and China hooking up.

It's already happened. The West choose their side and their politics with the UN/NATO and the Climate Accord(I am actually for most of what the UN wants to accomplish in the Climate Accord but hijacking climate science and using the beneficial gas, CO2/fossil fuels to get there was the worst/dishonest/anti science thing to do)

Now we are facing resistance from 2 very powerful, evil countries that will NEVER give up fossil fuels and have hooked up their evil, nationalist empires to fight the other side over their/it's altruistic motives(using it's own dishonest tactics with the Climate Accord).

Honesty and authentic science would have been so much better!

Russia's life blood is and will be it's abundant fossil fuel production. China's life blood is it's massive consumption of fossil fuels(double the US).

What did we think would happen if the rest of the world tried to take that away from them????

They will NEVER change. And it's not because they don't care about the planet bull crap. They know that the planet is greening up. The planet is having a climate optimum for life because of an increase in the beneficial gas, CO2(the building block for life) and THEIR countries are benefiting the most.

THAT'S the real reason for this.

Ukraine crisis live: Russian forces ‘poised to invade’ if Putin gives the order, Western officials believe                                                                                                    Two-thirds of 110 battalions now positioned within 50km of the border

metmike: In spending time analyzing this recently, it seems obvious that even if we manage to prevent Russia from invading right now, this IS THE NEW COLD WAR.

Russia/China are evil empires but they have mutual interests, especially because of one of the biggest reasons for what allowed them to develop as super powers.........fossil fuels and is by far, their biggest strength going forward!

There is a near 0% chance that Russia is every going to give that up. Russia is #1 in world in natural gas production and #2 in coal(#8 in oil).

Why do you think they are so against NATO? They don't want to tell you the biggest reason!

We keep getting this bs interpretation about the Climate Accord saving the planet from the bs climate crisis and Russia doesn't care about the planet.

It's manufactured propaganda!

The Climate Accord is purely political and it's a war on fossil fuels by the UN/NATO/The West..........which is a war on the Russian economy and a war on Russian prosperity. China NEVER was on board with it(though we've been fed lies that they are)

We're getting some interesting, contrasting depictions of what's going on and what's being said by both sides:

Biden adviser says Russian deployment into Ukraine is 'an invasion'

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/595286-biden-adviser-says-russian-deployments-the-beginning-of-an-invasion

Russia recognizes independence of Ukraine separatist regions

The recognition of Donetsk and Luhansk as "independent" has been met with widespread condemnation from the West amid fears it could provide a pretext for a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

https://www.dw.com/en/russia-recognizes-independence-of-ukraine-separatist-regions/a-60861963

metmike: What I think is most noteworthy is almost no news sources are repeating what Putin stated yesterday in his statements that describe why he's so upset........BECAUSE IT'S TRUE!

Putin Address Takes Swipe at U.S.-Led World Order

      https://www.wsj.com/articles/putin-address-takes-swipe-at-u-s-led-world-order-11645485419

metmike: As I've said 1,000 times here. The Climate Accord has NOTHING to do with the climate. It's entirely political and it's exactly  what Putin described yesterday.

Putin is an evil guy for sure but the truth is the truth regardless of the source.

In today's world, the good guys lie sometimes too. They get away with the lies/propaganda because people know them as the "good guys" and put all their trust in them.

I'm not defender of Putin............just the objective truth.

The article from that person is 4 years old.

Not sure what prompted them to suddenly post that.

With regards to this issue, it's much of  what the Climate Accord is about.

The United Nations as our Mommy and Daddy, applying global socialism rules, redistributing global wealth to fair standards they determine.

As well as imposing consumption limits on rich countries so  we have sustainable development.

Climate change? The ones that understand,  don't really care. They know that the Accord will have almost no affect on the climate.

CO2 emissions?

They don't care except as it allows them to impose their political agenda via CO2 emissions by using this as a ruse in order to destroy capitalism in developed countries that use cheap, efficient and abundant fossil fuels to fuel their powerful, economies using capitalism.

Get rid of fossil fuels and the mission is accomplished.

                By metmike - Oct. 25, 2020, 9:05 p.m.

If Biden wins, the right is not going to act this way. But the policies of the left will do MUCH MORE damage down the road with regards to things like energy.

I believe that we are having a cultural revolution and the objective is to get rid of as much as possible to remind people of the old culture as we progress into the new worldorder.............that features global socialism, redistribution of global wealth, elimination of capitalism and less consumption of natural resources by the rich counties(that get weaker by design) and the United Nations as our Mommy and Daddy.

The Climate Accord is all about this. It has nothing to do with the climate. Let's say that this is true(it is) if such a plan exists(it does) and they have hijacked climate science to get this far(they have) and convinced the entire world to be on board(they have-except for Trump) think about how powerful

This is what the Climate Accord is designed to do......it's the start of a new worldorder, led by the UN,(which does not stop the massive increase in CO2 emissions-because they allow China/India to increase CO2 with impunity since they are considered "poor countries in the agreement").

metmike: As everybody knows here......I fight vehemently against conspiracy theories. This is NOT a conspiracy theory. The side fighting for the NEW WORLD ORDER is also feeding us propaganda and hiding truths. It's worked well in convincing the world that a climate optimum for life........is really a climate crisis.

Wang was also asked whether China sees parallels between Ukraine and Taiwan, to which he responded it is an “irrefutable historical and legal fact” that there is "only one China in the world and Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory,” referring back to its "One-China" principle.

The China-Russia relationship: Beijing is navigating a complex position as it attempts to balance deepening ties with Moscow with its practiced foreign policy of staunchly defending state sovereignty.

Though not military allies, China and Russia have been presenting an increasingly united front in the face of what they view as Western interference into their respective affairs and regions.

metmike: Again, this is what the Climate Accord has always been about(politics and one world order led by the UN).........and was NEVER designed to affect the climate.

metmike: I know that China and Russia are led by evil leaders and are in the wrong here but I'm telling you........the West is not being straight with us.

They've continually lied about a fake climate crisis for decades that I can verify is actually a climate optimum for most life..only because I'm actually an atmospheric scientist with all the authentic data.

When you are on the absolute right side about something and almost all  people will join you because of that......you don't need to tell lies to impose your agenda.

So why did they have to hijack climate science and lie about it to impose their agenda????

We are seeing the consequences right now because Russia and China know what the real agenda is and have refused to join up.

I actually am for most of the agenda(to make the world a better place)........but am outraged that they hijacked my field, climate science and stole people's intelligence, using weather/climate and other propaganda to steal people's intelligence to accomplish their agenda because they KNEW THERE WOULD BE RESISTANCE LIKE THIS and going the way they did, allows them to vilify those fighting against it.

China and Russia will NEVER be part of the plan to severely cut back on production or use of fossil fuels or any part of the Climate Accord. Not with these leaders or in my short life time left. But the greening planet and climate optimum and authentic science are bound to hit sooner than that anyway.

The United Nations is calling the shots now. They will be our new Mommy and Daddy. The Biden administration has not only signed up with the UN's Climate Accord on day 1 but Biden/Harris insist that they will lead the way.

Actually, it's the UN calling all the shots. The US will just be doing the UN's bidding and falling in line with the UN's well defined Agenda 2030 to change the world...............and helping the UN accomplish its objectives.

Some really good stuff in Agenda 2030 for most of the world. Read it, you have to agree. I'm very much about helping the less fortunate.

Also it's about conserving natural resources and cutting legit pollution. Those are really good things too.

But I'm even more about telling the truth and they are being totally dishonest with people in developed countries about a fake climate crisis to scare the crap out of them in order to trick them and control them.

My field of expertise, atmospheric science has been completely hijacked and misrepresented for their political agenda.....they are stealing peoples scientific intelligence with the propaganda/junk science......messing up my mission in life of educating people using science and truth.

Kind of hard to go along with their program because of those last 2 facts.

Funny thing is, if they did everything exactly the same, except just told the truth. "hey world, we are not having a climate crisis, it's a climate optimum, however, we have billions of really poor people that we want to help and we need to cut back on our over use of natural resources in the rich countries and cut back on pollution and we will do the same things that are in the climate accord.....except that  we will call it the NON climate accord and not try to obliterate or tax fossil fuels.

Man, I could be on board with that!!!"

Trump praised Putin's justification to invade Ukraine as 'genius' and 'savvy'

https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-vladimir-putin-ukraine-invasion-justification-genius-savvy-2022-2

  • Trump praised Vladimir Putin as "savvy" following news of an impending Russian invasion of Ukraine
  • "This is genius," Trump said of Putin's recognition of two breakaway Ukrainian regions.
  • He said Biden shouldn't send troops to Ukraine and he'd "rather see our southern border protected.
  • metmike: This is actually pretty sad that Trump is complimenting Putin and acting like he is rooting for him. Please don't confuse my position to be one that is rooting for Putin. I'm just showing the absolute/objective truth and the reasons for all of this.  Trump apparently has no clue either because he had an opportunity to explain it...........and instead, told us how brilliant it was for Putin to make this move.   Regardless of what happens here........the world has a new cold war between the West with their Climate Accord/NATO/UN and Russia/China and like I've been saying with the Climate Accord.........the financial/political train has already left the station and there's no going back about the war on fossil fuels. Russia and China will NEVER become a part of this fraudulent agreement that does nothing for the climate and only hurts them. China only agreed initially because the UN agreed to make them a DEVELOPING COUNTRY, so they don't have to cut emissions and they GET MONEY. That's the ONLY reason they agreed. However, India, a   legit real poor country is objecting to this and the rest of the world, finding out the CO2 emissions are well mixed in the global atmosphere is noticing now that all these cuts don't do anything because China's increases are more than the cuts of others. The China agreement was just a huge fraud perpetrated by Obama and China never intended on cutting fossil fuels from the get go.  Anyway's I've been showing and stating this for over a decade and people are still being fooled........including smart people, with manufactured realities(both sides) about whats really going on.

I'm strongly for conserving natural resources and cleaning up REAL pollution.

I'm for helping poor people/countries and for the rich countries to do more.

But the UN's Climate Accord hijacked climate science and made up a climate crisis to accomplish the above agenda using a war on fossil fuels.

Since I'm more about the truth and authentic science above all, I've been very outspoken about the widespread fraudulence about the climate and weather (my fields of expertise for 4+ decades) in the Climate Accord and the extremely COUNTER productive war on fossil fuels which will not only hurt humans, including poor humans but will hurt the entire planet because much of the FAKE green energy(especially wind) is extraordinarily ANTI environmental.

                Fake Green energy killing wildlife/environment

Thanks much Larry!

I noted you used several attempts  trying to get in.......looks like it took 4 times.

Our site has been under attack now for several months.

Alex's wife has not responded for 3 years, hasn't paid for technical support from over 2 years ago and they won't help me and even the ad company no longer serves us because she did not respond to our emails to verify a minor item.

During the evening hours, the delay in a response when using a MarketForum command has been up to a minute.

This is an intentional attack from some entity.

In the past, this happened a couple of times and tech support adjusted things to ward the attacks off.

I no longer have them or the control to do anything.  The computer company that Kate is way overdue paying could also pull the plug.......not sure but I hope not.

There may be licensing contracts and obligations that need to be renewed to keep us going that I don't know about.

So if we suddenly vanish.............that was the reason why.

I've actually spent some time to copy all my quotes of the day, make the world a better place, climate change threads with their links which represent thousands of hours in time/work, so if we go bye bye...........at least I won't lose that stuff.

If you have some favorite links/posts/threads here not copied, now would be a great time to do that.

addition: Again, I noted a long pause before I could make this addition to the post above. This is not a snafu from MarketForum or related to the length of this thread. Somebody(s)......is intentionally doing this.

When people have to wait for up to a minute to load  a MarketForum page. day after day.........they just stop coming.

Chris, from tech support explained it to me around 3 years ago what was going on and changed some settings to fix it so they had to re calibrate the attack at that time. .....which is my uneducated explanation of what I remember.

p.s. To whoever's doing this.......congratulations. Looks like you will win. Not much I can do except keep posting as long as possible, keep trying to get ahold of Kate and save as much stuff as I can that I spent almost 4 years acquiring.

Maybe Kate will show up, pay her bills, follow thru with the contract that I had with her when agreeing to take over and we won't go bye bye.

My wife will be happy to see me have more time to help her with her carbon capture business, trying to help keep fossil fuel companies in business and I'll go on with developing the minds of young people using chess as long as my mind still functions and take with me more learning about everything in the world the last 4 years, than in the previous 24 years.

Mike,

Don’t forget to check your email from time to time in case this board gets shut down. We could still talk that way on occasion if ever either of us desires that…probably just on occasion to stay in contact in case we ever want to talk commodities or something else down the road. Currently, I’m flat all of them and have no plans to trade them anytime soon. But that could change well on down the road.

I’ll also repeat that I think Mike’s efforts here have not been as appreciated nearly as much as they could have been.

edit: Mike, I’ve emailed you in the past and you not check it until I remind you here. If this board goes bye bye, I won’t be able to remind you any more. So, just a friendly reminder just in case.

Thanks Larry,

I hope that we can stay in touch forever.

I get too many emails and need to filter out more of them.

I understand why you appreciate me because the feeling is totally mutual.

Since I started trading 3 decades ago, I've never connected with anybody on weather trading like with you. Never anything close.

Thinking about this even more, makes me have a strong desire to continue that long past any potential end point to MarketForum!

I listened to NPR this afternoon as they discussed how similar Putin is to Hitler.

Here we go )-:

Russian President Vladimir Putin announces military assault against Ukraine in surprise speech

https://www.businessinsider.com/putin-announces-military-assault-against-ukraine-in-surprise-speech-2022-2

  • Putin announced Russia forces were launching an offensive against Ukraine in a video that aired early on Thursday morning in Russia.
  • There were reports of explosions shortly after the announcement was made, including in Kyiv.
  • "Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life," Biden said.

  • metmike: Looks like Biden was right but just premature.   Hopefully nothing really stupid  happens to make it even worse. Putin is never going to allow Ukraine to become part of NATO/UN and the Climate Accord and the new world order(no less Russia). China feels exactly the same way. We just need to get over it. Impose sanctions, then get over it.  Countries like Afghanistan, Iran, China, N.Korea and Russia have leaders that will never want to join up with the West and their progressive ideas. The problem with sanctions is that it always hurts the citizens in the country you are supposedly trying to rescue the most.    Is a prosperous Russia, while controlling Ukraine and their energy and Ukraine benefiting better for Ukrainians? Or is crippling Russia, hurting Ukrainians and making Putin more desperate better?  Will this cause Putin to cry uncle and finally concede? Why would he?  Will this cause WW-3?

I apologize if any of my previous statements give the impression that I know exactly what we should be doing to get control of Putin.

We should just avoid doing something really stupid and expect that Putin is going to act rationally.

Stop misleading people to think that we will change Putin and Russia or change Afghanistan or change Iraq or change N.Korea or change China.

All we need is the West/United Nations and NATO.....the good guys..... to gang up on and put pressure on them and they will have no choice but to see the light.

They see all those things too but are willing to risk EVERYTHING to take another path.

This isn't a movie, where you can write the script to have a happy ending based on good winning over evil.

In the real world......evil does win sometimes.

This isn't the US justice system that prosecutes evil and holds them accountable in court and takes away their ability to keep practicing evil in the US.

Powerful evil sometimes can't be stopped. You can penalize evil with sanctions or other actions but you absolutely cannot stop evil.

Historically, evil did horrendous damage and we look back and think........wow, today's world has progressed beyond that and doesn't tolerate such behavior and is globally connected with enough good guys to prevent evil from doing bad things.

But there are absolute limitations.  Yes, we can prevent Russia/China from acting like Germany/Japan on a global scale but we can't stop them from being that way in their own backyards............where THEY set the rules.

And it's a good thing they are keeping it in their own backyards. If it ever went outside that and Putin got desparate enough to use nuclear weapons because Russia was being decimated by economic sanctions....we would be wishing we could rewind and just have it THIS bad..........the way that it is right now with just Ukraine involved.

We can't believe that Russia would do this, then expect him to react rationally to economic sanctions.

There's a good chance that Putin will interpret this as the West/UN/NATO that he hates with passion, are uniting to attack his country economically. He will see this as them declaring war economically on Russia. He obviously can't fight back with anything, right?

Except that he is more powerful than any other country in one realm. Nuclear weapons.

If it was me or you or the West deciding whether to go nuclear, of course it would never happen.

But ask yourself this. Why did Putin amass the most powerful nuclear arsenal on the planet?

It wasn't because he didn't have anything better to do with Russia's money. It was so that it made Russia more powerful than any other country in a realm that could be used in a conflict with other country's.

These events are the first ingredients in the recipe for the start of a nuclear war. The West is working on creating narratives to bolster support for their side and convincing the world to unite against Putin.

Putin is absolutely viewing this as an attack on him, Russia and what belongs to Russia.

Putin is absolutely not thinking about the point where he will cry uncle and give in to "The New World Order" as he referred to it a few days ago.

For Putin, this is a matter of principle and he will do everything to defend it.......especially because he feels its a defensive posture.

That's exactly why he piled up all those nuclear weapons. For situations just like this.

We shouldn't be asking ourselves the question "Will Putin use his nuclear weapons? because he will.

The question should be, "How far can he be pushed before he uses them"

If we think that we know and try to push him to the brink because we are representing good and he is evil....... but are off just a bit and he gets pushed just past that..........we will wish the situation could be rewound to where we are today, to re-calibrate the risks and change the strategy.

But it will be too late and instead of hundred/thousands dead....it could be many millions.

Of course Putin knows this and is smart enough to know that it would also wreck Russia and would never go down that path.

You can convince yourself of that.  I think there's an impossible to calculate chance that he would do this and we can never embrace/understand his mindset accurately.

If this were a chess game, it would have to feature your opponent having more than just the chess pieces on the board. It would be somebody unpredictable that when losing in the past,  was known to refuse to follow the chess rules and would even turn the chess board upside down in anger/frustration rather than let his opponent beat him on the chess board.

This is Putin.

Putin put Russia’s nuclear forces on alert. What does that mean for the risk of nuclear war?

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/putin-put-russias-nuclear-forces-on-alert-what-does-that-mean-for-the-risk-of-nuclear-war

metmike: We only hear that Putin must be a madman because he's considering nuclear weapons based on him wanting to have control of Ukraine and things not going the way he would like.

He is extremely dangerous for sure but he's ALSO fighting for the future of Russia right now.

The West/NATO/UN/IPCC/Climate Accord have declared war on Russia's future ability to stay prosperous selling many trillions of dollars of their..........fossil fuels.

We're about to hit our daily attack that lasts around 6 hours which makes it almost impossible to use/read/post here unless you want to burn lots of time waiting for the long delayed responses.

Sorry folks, nothing I can do. The owner Kate McCallum has vanished for 3 years and not paid any bills(just collected small ad checks) so we no longer have a tech department and am not sure how much longer a forum. Even our ad provider quit us until she signs new documents.........so at least there are no more ads!

I'd love to hear from you but am still being optimistic because I can use Marketforum to spread positive, educational/enlightening  messages.

Those messages have changed my life the past 3 years from constantly searching for and contemplating their meaning.

It really does work extremely well  but you have to do more than read them quickly because the fact is,  somebody else authored them after THEY discovered their meaning from THEIR experiences.

Slow down and think seriously about each one when you read it and always follow it up by looking up something(s) related that YOU found on your own from searching. That process causes the meaning to penetrate your being vs just understanding it, then going on with your life...... and not allowing the full meaning to become something you embrace.

Then it will stick, possibly forever.

Each time that you do that, it adds just a tiny bit of positive humanity to who you are. You probably won't know the difference that day or the next or the next.......unless you would have some sort of rare conversion from something that suddenly clicks and turns a light on.

However, when you multiply a tiny number by a big enough number, it eventually grows more significant.

This is actually how people change over time.

Everybody from almost everywhere can change in a direction of their choosing. Motivation is required to start. Understanding the methodology is important but sometimes, you change without even having the method planned out....just the motivation and........the persistence.

Almost everything worth having in life took an effort to obtain.

Sometimes, that effort can be fun too. Looking up awesome quotes and ways to make the world better or appreciate this wonderful world is a labor of love.  Why wouldn't it be??
