Mike,

I really do like you and appreciate your volunteer work with the Coast Guard and Volunteer Fire Department. We need more people like you in the world!

However, "Mike the world's greatest trader" is a completely fake person.

This  post, like your others (that never lose money but still just trade 1 contract)  tell us about your trade........ but only AFTER it's way in the money.

When I called you out on this previously and you posted live, you completely flopped. TOTALLY FLOPPED!

You are totally welcome to post anyway that you want here, Mike including this last post but we have many readers at MarketForum that come to learn about the markets. The last person I want them to learn from is you and I will post the exact reasons why because I care more about authenticity/honesty IN EVERY REALM and teaching people about the markets and how to trade them more than I do about the feelings of people that profoundly violate those principles to get attention here.

I started seriously trading grains back in 1999 since I understood grains from working on dairy farms here in penna..

Over the years I started trading E-Mini 500 & Gold.

I have invented my own secret system using moving averages,RSI and support & resistance levels.

I trade on the Think or Swim Platform. While everybody here is glued to the tv wondering if Donald Trump loves them,I am smoking weed and programing the trading bot.

Think or swim allows me to send notifications to my cell phone. I program in support & resistance levels, I program alerts when the RSI rises or sinks through the 50 line.

I can program the make the trades automatically if I so desire.

I dont need or use useless statistics, just give me some good green bud, a support or resistance alert and an RSI signal in relation to the 50 line.

Sorry its so easy for me to make money while most of you here struggle. never forget that I paid my dues over a lifetime to learn.

            Thanks, Mike!
Your trading system sounds great as you explain it but you have no risk management and every single time I’ve asked about that you’ve completely ignored me.

The vast majority of trades are similar to yesterday.

You either tell us 1 thing that violates your own trading system, like you did in the morning, or more often than not tell us you TOOK A TRADE UNTIL AFTER ITS PROFITABLE AND  OR AFTER YOU TOOK PROFITS.

Honestly, I feel bad having to hold you accountable but you had the opportunity in the first post on Monday  to tell us what the set up was and where and when you were going to buy yesterday  but you never do that.

I even asked you after that first post of yours but got ZERO response until late in the day when, like usual we got a new post.

We find out that you’re  long and in the money again.

Still no explanations or answers to key question about where you have a stop or what your price objective is.

And just to let you know, traders that are making a killing every year like you do ARENT STILL TRADING JUST 1 contract On every trade.

They increase size.

A trader with a 10k account doesn’t trade like a trader that has grown it to an order of magnitude greater.
based  on your trades here, your account should be over 1 million.

And you’re expressing being nervous over putting on a trade of 1 contract earlier this month because of being on the job(your real job that makes no sense because your trading should make 10 times that and being a plumber is hard work-good for you on doing the hard work)….i believe that part but a trader of 26 years that has made a million dollars trading doesn’t get nervous over trading 1 contract.

I really enjoy your posting here, Mike the worlds greatest trader, but It isn’t at all as you constantly describe it for you or for anybody.

That you have your own Secret System that you constantly violate and that it’s no mystery for you.

Telling us earlier this month that your sorry it’s so hard for everybody else because it’s so easy for you.

If that really was the case you would be able to answer basic questions and be able to carry on a trading discussion that explains what you intend to do, as you failed miserably at doing yesterday beforehand that includes risk management and not just what you did afterwards when you’re in the money or made money.

You must think I’m pretty gullible, Mike…..or that you‘re smarter than everybody here.

Ive actually NOT called you out on this because I like you and am respectful and kind to people but you asked for it.
Sorry, man!

Interesting violation of the rules of the system that you claim makes you the best trader ever.

No stop?

No target?

What's the rational? Trying to catch a falling knife mentality?

Please explain.

Thanks in advance.

What's the plan for this trade Mike? What was the reason to take it?

Did you cover to limit losses on a day trade?

Have you, instead decided to hold it in hopes that the market goes higher tomorrow or later this week?

Where are your stops or points to limit risk?

What is your price objective?

There's no RSI or other indicator boxes that tells anything about this entry.

Thanks, Mike!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter!

I seriously like you alot and am not trying to harass, just trying to help people to understand the solid principles of successful trading (and being honest/humble) vs gambling.

I appreciate that very much, Mike!

This account certainly made $837.50 on today's trade.

Like you sometimes do, however you accidentally overlook something in your trading posts.

In this case, we can see in the bottom right corner what that is.

This trade boosted the total account value to $2,92X.XX(can't see the last numbers so I put X). The overall profit and loss for the year on this account is -$1,87X.XX.

I assume the first number is in thousands and you didn't' lose almost 2 million this year.

Is this why you trade options? Because the account size isn't big enough to trade futures?

I can't say what it started at because you could have added or taken out money but regardless, that means you lost more money than you made with this account in 2025, which is almost over.

Which has been my point forever. Why do you only show trades that you make money on(or claim that) and declare this to mean that you are the world's greatest trader?

Mike,

I was happy to end on a positive note but you wanted to make this into a bigger issue to prove that you are right.

You showed a great day trade today but slipped up by accidentally showing your account results for this year, which is what matters the most in trading.

Not whether we made money on 1 trade but are we making more money than we are losing? And maybe more important, are we learning things on losing trades about humility and honesty?

I still like you a lot and appreciate your contributions, including the ones this week where we can all learn to be honest and humble!  This isn't a competition between us,  Mike. I'm not trying to pick on you.

It's a trading forum to learn things based on AUTHENTIC presentations of the markets.

Besides sharing, I'm constantly learning too!

Congrats on today's trade and thanks again for sharing!

            Funny story related to this.

20+ years ago, I was having a debate with Joe K. who kept insisting weather trading was crap.

This went on for numerous months and thru the first 6 months of that year, I was doing pretty good. So I sent my last account statement to Alex who posted the results that he declared as authentic that metmike thru June 2005??  had made over $100,000 in his account at Lind Waldock(those were the good old days-I can't do that anymore). I told Joe he didn't have to show his statement but demanded he stop trashing weather trading as not working(he had severe Wyckoff on the brain-itis)

Then, I went 1 step further and got Joe's email address from Alex and contacted Joe and reached out to invite him to be my friend.

He accepted and that man never lacked enthusiasm and sincerity. He was paying for a couple of services and he would send that information to me every day for many, MANY months and I would tell him about my weather trades......with him now being a firm believer and a friend for life.

Susan(who was actually a man) would constantly pick on Joe here but I never got involved.  Susan clearly had a good understanding of the markets and stated some profound things but would be off on some things. She loved to nit pick mistakes in Joe's flawed thinking.

Local was Joe's good friend (as well as mine). He told me that after I sent Alex my account statement, it was a really dumb thing to do because it could have gotten into the wrong hands and not to trust anybody.

Yeah, tell me about it!

On October 31, 2011, my 6 figure account at MF Global went bye bye from their bankruptcy/fraud, then in July 2012, my account at PFG Best with borrowed money and returned MFG money went bye bye from their bankruptcy/fraud! In both cases, they raided all the segregated accounts without authorization!

Local had the vast understanding in trading that very few people on the planet had/have. He was a trader in the bond pit for years, thus the handle "local". He intensely loathed Susan and would let her(him) have it with typical local wit/humor especially since Joe K, his friend was being targeted so often.

That is very generous of you. Teaching her to trade, then giving her more money when she loses money trading your system. I'm glad that last trade made some money back.

Possibly, I may have identified a missing element in her trading routine. Does she smoke weed? Maybe she's not smoking enough weed?

I believe that your system does have merit, so keep that in mind with my next comment.

One thing that tons of people, especially beginners will do when they start is rationalize improperly about wins and losses. When they make a profit, sometimes just from being lucky doing something dumb they will use that to reinforce doing something dumb which is counterproductive to smart, disciplined trading.

When they lose money, sometimes they will attribute that to bad luck. Or if they are losing more than winning overall and their account size is dropping.........THEY HAVE A WIN. Yippee! they think. The rush and reward of that win, overcomes the disciplined, smart decisions and they want that rush again, like a drug addict craving their drug.

I have ZERO evidence that this is happening to your pupil and am just mentioning it as a common pitfall for traders that lose money, since this account has been losing money.

I have often said this about small traders in the long run. The majority will lose their money, even when they replace the money(and lose it again) and give up because making money in the markets takes several skills that most people are unable to learn and apply consistently.

What happens to the other ones?

They become BIG traders!

There are plenty of variations in between!

+++++++++++++

I assume that since you are still doing this, Mike you've experienced enough success to justify it and your system, along with how you use it,  regardless of any things that I point out, shows you actually do have a DEEP understanding.

For one thing, if I told people what position to take, they are not learning how to trade using THEIR DECISIONS which is the key part. For another, I can't' post 24 hours a day to tell them when to get out based on weather models that change constantly, including overnight. And for FREE????  Seriously????

Did market "finally" figure out "TOO WET"?

++++++++++

The diametrically opposed polar opposite of that, tjc!!!

Technicals trump fundys

++++++++++++

Thanks, tjc. You keep insisting that trade after trade and year after year, no matter how many times I demonstrate that's NOT true with weather markets.

The weather is a fundamental. This is a weather market and the forecast took a huge shift to hot/dry over the long weekend, similar to  how the European Ensemble model has been forecasting hot/dry for weeks.

As long as the week 2 and beyond forecast stays hot/dry(and week 1 doesn't suddenly add a ton more rain) the technicals won't matter. We will keep going higher.

My position has almost doubled the money in the account and I messed up! I had planned to max out on margin but got tied up with a personal matter and barely got the bean order in with 30 seconds to go and only margined out 75%.

+++++++++

Like cutworm mentioned, 450 is the high for CZ. Over 1,100 offered at that price right now. 29,000 contracts traded so far in less than 3 hours. Very active!

1172 in beans has the biggest offers, but can blow thru that. 24,000 contracts traded so far.

OK, this is changing alot. Corn offers much less at 450 but looks like they dropped those orders to 449.75 and 449.50.

So corn appears to have more sellers here.

++++++++++

9:45 pm I covered the CZ at 449 for +4.5c and SX at 1170 for +17c.

Not quite doubling the account size, mainly because I messed up with the order size not maxed out on the open using day trading margins.

Funny thing is that I almost had enough equity to hold the entire position on day close Monday based on the account doubling.

My other option would have been to put in a stop and risk a chunk of the profits. Very often, with volatile trading like this it results in the stop getting hit and the market reversing back up. Regardless, we got the initial, extreme knee jerk reaction up from the change in the weather to hot/dry since last week's close and everybody (except tjc) knows why.

The forecast could turn a bit wetter in week 1 overnight and I don't want to be long in July without MAJOR adversity that is INCREASING. To be honest,  I'm getting to be an old man too and don't feel like staying up most of the night monitoring every weather model to babysit this weather trade.

It seems clear that the Summer lows are in for C and S.

This last 0z GEFS was a bit cooler than the previous runs in the Midwest during week 2 and keeps the dome WEST of the Cornbelt in week 2.

I would have covered on this if still long.

still pretty dry in the WCB!

Things would really need to change for the market to get back to the lows, so there’s little doubt the lows are in now.

8am: The 8:30 am open should be crazy. Funds just covered all their corn and were starting to get short. They covered a big chunk of their soybean longs. Historically, they don't put that position on again but every case is different.

This last 6z GEFS reversed the bearish changes from 6 hours ago. The EE model that came out in between was BULLISH with much more heat.

These were the CDDs for just the Midwest from that last 0z run on the right. Purple was the last run.

The question really is what happens LATE in the period after the heat spikes early in week 2?

This is NOT a dome of death on top the Cornbelt.

The dome will find a new home in the Rockies to Plains and for a time, push into the WCB at the end of week 1 into early week 2 before returning west.

8:40 am: Funds came in selling to test some overnight support that held and we're making new highs. Beans continue to be the strongest.

8:48: Unable to follow thru initially with more gains at the highs so 2 sided trading after MASSIVE gains overnight which suggests the market has dialed in MUCH of the bullish news.........for the moment.

The easiest weather trade money was made from the open last night. We can still go MUCH higher if the WEATHER forecast for the rest of July continue hot/dry and northwest flow doesn't mess that up.

This is a WEATHER market, not a technical market.

Volume for the day session so far does not seem especially huge so I think this is partly from sellers NOT wanting to put on new positions here so buyers need to bid prices higher to get filled. 1 bearish weather model and it could head back down..........but each model that stays bullish will help to add more gains.

This was the last 30 day forecast from the BULLISH European model, updated earlier this morning. These are rain anomalies.

This model has been insisting on this particular solution for over a month now and it looks to be nailing the forecast.

This was the most bullish 500 map to start week 2.

2nd map is the 500 mb pattern at the end of the month

These are the next 30 day temp anomalies.

Last month's record heat/weather with Saharan desert air masses aimed at Europe did huge damage to the corn crop.

Hot and dry weather has slashed corn conditions in France. Last week's good-to-excellent rating fell to 58%, down a whopping 26 percentage points in just two weeks. For comparison, the sharpest two-week decline in U.S. corn conditions during the 2012 drought was 17 points.

IF, IF this is to be a weather market, based upon prior trading patters, would you agree a TRADER gets one more chance considerably below today's breakout?  Perhaps "just" above the Sunday night gap?

            Thanks for the question, tjc.

Nope. That's not how it works in a weather market.

The only way we get back down there is if the weather pattern change causing this incredible 1 day spike up goes away and turns bearish, in which case a weather trader would have wanted to short up here.

Then, the weather forecast has to turn bullish again to buy down where you want to buy.

The market will only retest those levels IF the WEATHER CHANGES FIRST TO MORE BEARISH then CHANGES BACK TO BULLISH.

If that change back to bearish does not go back to bullish, then we will go below those levels. However, with the current pattern, that seems unlikely. We might go to less bullish and retrace some of this move but to go all the way back down will likely require enough bearish weather so that it makes no sense to be long in a weather market when the weather has turned bearish.

tjc,

I realize this is frustrating for you but that's just how it is with weather markets.

The volume today is actually HIGHER for soybeans than corn!!!  They are leading the charge higher. Beans can be hurt more if this hot/dry lasts into August, the key developmental month for soybeans.

I should have stayed long/held my position much longer but that's my boo boo. The entry on the open last night  was so perfect/optimal that it was still an outstanding profit.............and now it's time to focus on whats coming up, not what just happened.

Last week's U.S. corn export inspections topped all analyst estimates, while soybeans landed near the high end of the range. About half of the week's bean cargoes were destined for China. Meanwhile, wheat posted one of the smallest weekly volumes in 40+ years of records.

Thinking more about it.

There is actually 1 scenario that could cause a brief correction of something like 50%…..random number.
If we had a huge, widespread rain event this week that exceeded expectations and fell in the WCB.

Then we resumed with the hot/dry weather pattern for the rest of the month.

8-30-26: Mikekempt,

I never tooted my horn over this trade 2 months ago that almost doubled the equity in my account but you challenged me, so there it is.

And you are correct that this site provides a great deal of weather information. Imagine that, the owner of MarketForum, an atmospheric scientist/meteorologist sharing massive amounts of weather to use in trading weather markets and constantly demonstrating with authentic data, the impacts of that weather on those weather markets.

As well as posting other weather for the large number of our Evansville readers(at 5 schools where I'm the chess coach) that also includes severe weather and Winter weather tracking for everybody at times.

++++++++++++++++

Mike,

As I've mentioned 100 times here, my favorite posts are those that disagree with me because they offer an opportunity for one or even both of us to learn things.

I've learned something about Mikempt for sure.....who is still always welcome at MarketForum, despite requiring the extra work on my part to hold you accountable for blatantly misrepresenting your trading and misrepresenting trading principles and how to succeed.

Again, I like you, Mike despite this flaw in your personality and the exchange we're having right now!

Thanks for resorting to personal attacks, Mike instead of sticking to the issue!

Lame as it is in your opinion, we have several thousand regular readers that will always get objective truths and authentic information and the best, most timely weather anywhere..........FOR FREE on the trading forum!

As well as the best analysis for how the weather is impacting grains, natural gas and sometimes other markets..........FOR FREE on the trading forum!

I would never expect this, but in my dream world,  you would understand why there is such a HUGE disparity in your real world personal trading and what you present here to help understand yourself.

However, other readers can see how a person's over the top ego is often the biggest personality flaw that sabotages their consistent trading success.
