I'm completely withholding judgment until giving him a fair chance at doing this job.......unlike the pathetic character assassination of him being done by the left, even before he did anything on the job.
Regardless of how I end up feeling about his job, he's a class guy that communicates respectfully to others and not deserving of being a target like this based purely on his religious beliefs.
How Ds have forgotten that President Jimmy Carter and Martin Luther King based their lives on their Christian views and openly intertwined that into their politics.

Speaker johnson was being trashed before he's even had the chance to do anything to base any opinions on.
With that extremely divisive mindset quite obviously being superimposed on everything and anything that he does from the get go by the Ds, we can clearly see the dynamic which has been set up by the Ds.
Trash everything that comes from Mike Johnson and do everything possible to oppose him and his agenda, while characterizing it as coming from an extreme religious zealot.
They have labeled him as a religious zealot to permanently discredit anything that he does.
That label will stick for those that want to believe the snake oil selling politicians and MSM selling it.
I only have one problem with the new Speaker. He was, and still is, an election denier and supporter of the attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Other than that "tiny little item", I'm willing to give him a chance.

Yeah, being an election denier is the hardest for me to get past too.
If he starts making statements that tell us he still feels that way today, his honeymoon is over for me.
Though that was a very bad sign, I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
His role was much different then compared to now. He was just another congressman with the power of 1 vote back then. It's 3 years later and this is a different job with more responsibility. Maybe, sort of like a bakery with hundreds of bakers but only 1 person to sell all the products. A particular baker could be lousy at making cookies, for instance but great at selling them. His new role is more of a salesman or better yet a negotiator that is willing to give up things that he personally wants and would vote for as an individual in order to get compromises to obtain workable agreements that pass bills.
The speaker is supposed to represent EVERYBODY, not just their personal views. In this case, we know the Rs will be trying to take advantage of their slim majority and his first battle will be trying to unite his own party on some issues because they need every vote. Kevin McCarthy was the best at this when it came to passing bills with compromises with Ds but the extreme Rs, destroying the R party fired him for being good at his job(along with the assistance of every single D) So he has some big shoes to fill.
I tried to find any responses from him recently about the 2020 election results. As near as I can find, he's been non responsive. This is a good sign, I will guess if he is smart enough to not go down that road from 3 years ago. Instead, focusing on moving forward doing this new job. Having a current position on the 2020 election is one of the most divisive issues in our country right now. You bringing it up (and me agreeing) 3 years later tells you that. If he does his job right, that personal position should not matter or be a factor.
His background and unfair character assassination by the other side, reminds me of Brett Kavanaugh but this will be totally different.
With Kavanaugh, it was all about stopping him from being confirmed. A do or die, one time event. Once he was confirmed...........the battle ENDED!.
With Johnson, getting elected STARTED the battle. By the looks of it, that battle will continue as long as he's the speaker. There will be dozens and dozens of battles, some very critical to our government being able to function and he will be a target the entire time.
It may not boil down to how much he personally is willing to sacrifice to pass bills but how many votes he can get.
This is one job that I would not want with diametrically opposed objectives/views of both parties on specifics in legislature and unwillingness to compromise.
Also, no matter what he does, it's clear that there will be more haters judging everything that he does from the get go.

Look closely again at the purple and compare it to the red. There is 1,000 times more red than there is purple.
Now compare it to the thousands of fake news stories (propaganda from our politicians/media).
Ukraine has clearly lost the war and it was never anywhere close at any time and it's only going to get worse as their army is killed off below the 50% starting level already.

I've been waiting to form an opinion on Johnson until seeing what he does on the job.
He just lost my support. That 5% that he holds back, will be many to most of the bad parts when the crimes were being committed and this is clearly propaganda sold under the guise of it showing transparency. I'll be willing to bet that this starts a new movement of people using the vast majority of time, when crimes were NOT being committed and claiming that as evidence of the ENTIRE time. 99.9% confidence.
5% of 40,000 hours is 2,000 hours. Alot of bad things can happen in 2,000 hours!
When Tucker did this previously(with only selected portions), I called it the biggest violation of the truth in broadcast history.

Why do I know that he/they will do that? Because they wouldn't do it otherwise. And since none of us can know what the 2,000 hours he's holding out show, there will be no evidence to prove it.

Fortunately, we do have 10X the authentic, indisputable evidence needed to convict Trump for his crimes, trying to overturn the election and encouraging the insurrection or whatever you want to call it. We know 99%+ of what happened after Trump lost the election and what happened on January 6th.
It's all been clearly documented with videos, evidence/facts, testimony and actions.
These false narratives of things being hidden and these absurd conspiracy theories, like Ray Epps was a plant from the FBI that incited the riot to frame Trump have as much credibility as the movie "ET" would have as evidence of aliens.
Unfortunately, we live in a world of manufactured realities that are created by powerful gatekeepers in the government, media and industries like the Military/Industrial-political-media complex or pharmaceutical companies.
The objectives are to convince us to believe things that help them accomplish their self serving interests.
That's not a conspiracy theory its an explanation for all the conspiracy theories like:

or that Pelosi blocked Trumps ordering the national guard.
Or the COVID vaxx is more deadly than COVID.

Or the current increase in beneficial CO2, the building block for life, that's greening the planet, is a toxic pollutant killing the planet and 97% of scientists believe that.
Or that the 2020 election was anything other than the most secure election in history and it was rigged to cause Trump to lose.
Or that Trump's diabolical schemes to overturn the elections, including his fake electors scheme were just him applying his first amendment rights.
Or that George Floyd died from a drug overdose, not a police officer kneeling on his neck for 9 minutes. Including 3 minutes after everybody observed him not breathing on a video tape that confirmed it, that also featured numerous bystanders pleading loudly with the cop to stop killing him.
Or that the Insurrection was really just peaceful people, not much different than lost tourists roaming the Capital building.
Or that the NY District attorney is not obsessed with using her position to target and prosecute Trump with charges that would never stick in a criminal court, so she using a civil court with a biased judge that means he doesn't get "beyond a reasonable doubt" rights.
Or that Joe Biden's mental issues don't disqualify him of being cognitively incapable to effectively communicate messages as the president and that his physical issues are "arthritis of the spine" according to his doctors.
Or that what Israel is doing to 2 million innocent people, mostly women and children in Gaza is defending itself from Hamas and not horrendous violations of humans riots or war crimes. People that disagree with that must hate Israel and support Hamas/Iran instead of them having empathy for Palestinians.
Or that the war in Ukraine is not a US proxy war, using US weapons and Ukrainians to try to weaken Russia for the Biden agenda as well as serving the Military-Industrial-Political-Media complex. And the 500,000 that died so far did so because Ukraine is not really one of the most corrupt countries in the world, led by a psychopath turned into Bidens puppet because his ego was greater than his commitment to his people, who he betrayed after promising peace with Russia to get elected in 2019.
And that we need fake green energy....... wind, solar and batteries (that are wrecking the planet and causing unreliable, expensive energy) to save the planet from the form of energy.............THAT IS GREENING THE PLANET UP with its CO2 emissions.
