Trump responds to Jan. 6 criminal referrals: ‘It strengthens me’

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/3781379-trump-responds-to-jan-6-criminal-referrals-it-strengthens-me/

“These folks don’t get it that when they come after me, people who love freedom rally around me.  It strengthens me. What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger,” Trump said on his Truth Social social media platform.

Actually, he's got that completely backwards. When  he runs against somebody, IT MAKES THEM STRONGER!

When people backed by Trump run against somebody IN A CLOSE ELECTION..........IT MAKES THE OPPONENT STRONGER!!!

It's indisputable that the winner of the 2020 election was........

NOT Donald Trump!!

Joe Biden as Joe Biden has horrible numbers right now and there's almost no way that he will run just because of that, not even considering his faltering cerebral skills but if he did and Donald Trump was his opponent, he would be like Clark Kent going into a phone booth and coming out as ..............NOT Donald Trump!!!!!

But just let Donald Trump run again in 2024 and Joe will change back  into.............

In fact, anybody that runs against Trump will be.........

In very close races this past November, having the endorsement of Donald Trump was what helped win the race...........FOR THE OPPONENT!

Election deniers getting the endorsement from Trump in close elections was almost like the kiss of death (-:

187 MINUTES!!!!

This was a partisan committee.  Would you like to know why?  Because every witness that the committee called to testify was a Republican.  Not only were they Republicans, but they were also die-hard Trump supporters up until January 5th.

For 187 minutes his staff, his family, his legal advisors, and Republicans who were under siege were begging him to call on the violent protesters to stand down.  These Republicans stood by him through the 1st impeachment and every racist utterance.  They stood by him when he humiliated America by siding with Putin over his own Intelligence.

They begged him.  For 187 minutes he refused.  He referred to these rioters as patriots.  These insurrectionist rioters who beat cops with American flag poles.

I don't expect DOJ to bring charges because proving guilt is such a high bar.  I do expect him to be indicted on the theft of classified docs.  I do expect him to be indicted on the phone calls to Georgia calling for illegal interference with the will of the voters.  Crimes in broad daylight.  Open and shut.

People say that it would tear the country apart and set a bad precedent to indict the president.  I say it would be an even worse precedent to let his criminal behavior go scot-free.

Thanks much, mcfarm!

Jonathan Turley is not a liberal.

However, he does have very credible thoughts/views:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Turley

Jonathan Turley is an American attorney, legal scholar, writer, commentator, and legal analyst in broadcast and print journalism.[3]  A professor at George Washington University Law School, he has testified in United States Congressional proceedings about constitutional and statutory issues. He has also testified in multiple impeachment hearings and removal trials in Congress, including the impeachment of President Bill Clinton and both the first and second impeachments of President Donald Trump.[4][5] Turley is a First Amendment advocate and writes frequently on free speech restrictions in the private and public sectors.[6][7][8]

As an attorney, Turley has worked on notable cases in civil rights defense including the defense of Dr. Sami Al-Arian, NSA whistleblower David Faulk, protesters at the World Bank/IMF demonstrations in 2000, and the Brown family in their challenge to Utah polygamy laws. Turley has also served as counsel on prominent Federal cases including the defense of Area 51 workers, and as lead counsel in the 2014 challenge to the Affordable Care Act.

not a liberal? well that may be your opinion but I go with Turley's own and seen him on the tube many a time start with "believe want you want but this liberal" does or does not what ever he follows with. So I guess he can be what ever he says he is.

Trump Likely to Be Indicted, Will End Life 'Behind Bars,' Congressman Says

https://www.newsweek.com/trump-likely-indicted-will-end-life-behind-bars-congressman-says-1769547

"I do think it's very, very important that we establish that it's not just foot soldiers, but kingpins who are prosecuted," Raskin said. "And it's just wrong to send hundreds of foot soldiers to jail and leave the very clear kingpin unprosecuted."

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If there was true justice in the world, this would happen. The man that has done more harm to this country than any person in history(by orders of magnitude because the massive damage to the republican party that fell for his diabolitical schemes continues today), while committing treason, violating his oath and the Constitution, abusing his power as the president trying to overturn the most secure presidential election is history...........OMG, this guy should get 10 life sentences in prison.

The January 6th committee proved his guilt beyond a shadow of doubt.

However, it still seems like a long shot because of  the complicating factors and probably won't happen.

Republicans, ironically who will be the most upset at this occurring would receive a wonderful gift with Trump in prison.

He would no longer be able to target/use 10's of millions of republicans who follow him as a cult leader, causing the biggest divide to a political party in our life time. He caused democrats to win the White House and Congress.

The best chance for republicans to ever unite again,  is when their great divider in chief, Donald Trump is a distant memory or taken out.  Even then, the damage he's done to our country is likely to continue(but fade) for many decades(as people's (mis)understanding of the election process and confidence in it has been permanently damaged.

I really think that democrats  who appreciate these dynamics would prefer to have the threat of these consequences hanging in the balance for as long as possible so that republicans remain divided as long as possible.

Just the threat of Trump being prosecuted itself is an extremely divisive topic for republicans!

Will Trump be charged after House panel’s Jan. 6 report?

Former White House lawyer offers insider’s take on what’s going at Department of Justice

If he's prosecuted, there's a near 100% chance that millions of Trump loyalists, led by Fox News in the evenings will be screaming about how its more evidence of a corrupt, political DOJ.

They would be correct about the DOJ being blatantly corrupt. Even so, lacking the ability to know which incidents/situations are examples of biased corruption and which ones are legit.

LOL  THIS "SIDESHOW" (IMO) IS GONNA "BLOW UP IN SOMEONE'S FACE"

I'M WAITIN' FOR THE INDICTMENTS TO START ROLLIN' IN ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ISLE.  ALONG WITH THE FBI, CIA, ETC.

EVER WONDER WHY THE CIA HELPED FINANCE FACEBOOK, TO GET IT UP & RUNNIN'?

WOULD I VOTE FOR TRUMP, AGAIN? PROBABLY NOT.  I'D FEEL "RESPONSIBLE", IN PART... FOR HIS "DEMISE" ~ TO PUT IT MIDLY.

THIS COUNTRY HAS TURNED INTO ONE HUGE, SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS ~ IMO
