McConnell seeks a Jan. 6 mop-up on his terms

The Senate GOP leader didn't vote to convict Donald Trump after lambasting him over the Capitol attack. But he's poised to embrace post-riot reform even as House counterparts resist it.

metmike: McConnell knows that the path forward for republicans, if they can ever be received with credibility from anybody that uses authentic truth to define their ideologies, must shed Donald Trump.

Democrats know with certainty, that their strongest opportunities will come from candidates that run as NOT Donald Trump on the ballet and that 10s of millions of Trumpers would follow him to China as he digs his figurative hole deeper and deeper.
