I'm not advocating this as a credible source, just showing you the mentality and justification from the other side, which is some cases, actually has merit.

Since people reading this have been bombarded with US propaganda on Ukraine/Russia/Israel/Palestine, that will have a hard time getting thru the brainwash.

The point is that if you want peace:

1. You don't INTENTIONALLY provoke your enemies, whether it's Russia or whether is Iran/Middle East countries.

2. You pay attention to what your enemies think and say and USE THAT to be smarter than them to control the situation to maintain peace.

But that's only if you want peace.

Crystal clearly,  Israel's words and actions tell us that they WANT WAR and they're counting on the United States to join them.

The attack last week guaranteed, near 100% that we would see an escalation and this response. Israel knew that and did it intentionally. They want war.

I'll never be FOR Iran but being FOR Israel right now means getting the current leadership the hell out of there.......PERIOD!

There will be no DE escalation and any semblance of peace in the Middle East until the Netanyahu regime has been replaced with non corrupt, less extreme, better understanding/judgment,  serious peace makers.

I want Israel to flourish. This is doing tremendous harm to their credibility around the world and draining them of productive resources and precious lives because of Netanyahu's agenda.  It's ramped up antisemitism.

Stop blaming the enemy for all of this and look at disastrous leadership!!!!

Again, we need to understand our enemies and that includes understanding what they are most upset about and doing our best to make concessions that result in peace but don't do great harm to us.

Netanyahu is not capable of doing this.

We are supposed to be the more civilized side, yet our actions are often much more like the barbarians!!!!!

This latest escalation, although widely expected is taking us into new uncertain and uncharted territory. I'm actually much more concerned with what Netanyahu does next. He controls the outcome.  He can continue the ethnic cleansing/genocide of innocent, fellow Muslims in Gaza and attack elsewhere with gusto and continue to insist on absurd things like, starving out 2 million people mostly children and women is self defense

OR he can display something he's not yet shown.........COURAGE! The courage of admitting his plan is failing miserably and destroying the credibility and future of Israel.

It doesn't take courage to have a 100 times more powerful military than Gaza and use it to obliterate 2 million innocent children and woman.  In my book, this is the sign of a big COWARD! Trying to salvage his own neck at the expense of those innocents and the ones in his own country that are suffering from his decisions.

Usually, during wars, the people will circle the wagons and support their leaders. However, Netanyahu has completely lost the support and trust of the people of Israel who are the only ones that can get him out ASAP!

Israel Must No Longer Live by the Sword

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/02/opinion/netanyahu-protests-legacy-war.html

The moment Israel’s devastating war in the Gaza Strip ends, the unfinished conflict within Israel over its future will begin again. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his right-wing coalition partners know this. That may be, in part, why they have set the improbable aim of “total victory” as the war’s ultimate objective, and why they have so far refused any deal that would end the fighting in exchange for returning the roughly 100 hostages still in Hamas captivity. After almost six months, this war is already Israel’s longest since Israel’s war of independence.

The assault on Gaza has nearly frozen Israel’s fractious political system. Once-ferocious debates have largely been put on hold. Even Mr. Netanyahu’s most vociferous critics seek to avoid being painted as treasonous during a time when massive banners declaring “Together We Will Win” hang from skyscrapers. For months all of the country seem to have rallied behind the war. In service of keeping the war going, and unencumbered by any real opposition, Mr. Netanyahu also steered his country into a head-on collision with its most significant backer, the United States, putting his short-term political considerations ahead of the country’s long-term interests.

In the weeks following Hamas’s gruesome Oct. 7 incursion, Mr. Netanyahu’s political future looked bleak. The prime minister had long boasted that his more than 15 years in power had been Israel’s most secure; Hamas’s attack shattered that legacy. The man who described himself as “Mr. Security,” who said he hoped to be remembered as “the protector of Israel,” appeared responsible for the deadliest single day in Israel’s history. Even as military and intelligence leaders have since stepped up to take the blame, Mr. Netanyahu has pointedly refused to acknowledge his own culpability.

Make no mistake, despite what Fox News is telling us, Israel inspired this attack by Iran with their attack that killed Iranians earlier this month that INTENTIONALLY provoked this reaction. Netanyahu WANTED THIS!

Why does Israel keep launching attacks in Syria?

Israel launched two of its largest and deadliest strikes on Syria in the past week, promising even more attacks.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/4/4/why-does-israel-keep-launching-attacks-in-syria

Why were the latest attacks important?

Israel has launched two of its largest and deadliest strikes ever against Syria in the past week.

It has significantly increased the frequency and intensity of its attacks since the start of its brutal war on Gaza, freely targeting Iran and its ally Hezbollah in Syria, especially around the capital, Damascus, where there is a stronger presence.

Monday’s air strike completely levelled the building of the Iranian consulate in Damascus, killing seven members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including two generals who led the elite Quds Force in Syria and Lebanon.

++++++++++++

If you don't believe me, then ask yourself. What great military benefit did Israel's recent  deadly attacks achieve vs what they caused in response? And what everybody and their brother knew the response would be, including all the markets on Friday?

It was like a 1,000 to 1 risk to benefit ratio. Only a psychopath and/or somebody intentionally trying to further escalate the already sky high tensions would have done this.

In what world would we expect Iran to just say, "dang, you just bombed our consulate in Damascus and killed 7 members of our leadership" "Our entire country is outraged about this..........but we won't react because we don't want to escalate or make Israel even more mad at us" or "we won't react because we're afraid of what Israel might do next"

Iran HAD to react and the entire planet knew they would. Why wouldn't Netanyahu, the guy that ordered the attack know it BEFORE he attacked?  Of course he did!

something very fishy developing about the Iranian attack. Seems every day now more stories coming with much different version of the lead up to Iran's attack. Seems we sent billions to the Iranians to build bombs all the while of sending billions to Israel to shoot those bomb down. Now comes John Kirby to completely embarrass himself in front of the media with the stanch that Iran "promised" to use the money for humanitarian aide, What a dumbass if even slightly believe this. He next denies that  the US, England, France and others had a prior agreement with Iran to allow said bombing if we could have ships prestaged and in position to easily shoot the missiles and bombs down. Something sure seems fishy when a wicked foe that has killed many an American by themselves or thru proxy would be so poor at killing Israel's that 99% of the bombs never made it to ground?

Yes this sounds amazingly just like a  stunt our very own CIA, FBI, and DOD would pull

Jean,

this is an excellent point and it’s only getting worse with AI.

Many People are obsessed with manipulating us and convincing us to believe X,Y and Z for a wide range of reasons.

Some are sincere and altruistic.

Trying to get people to donate time or money to help less fortunate people using honest tactics and an organization dedicated to making the world a better place, for instance.

At the other extreme are charlatans trying to take our money to enrich themselves Using tactics that can sound as convincing as the good people.

and there are a million different things people want to convince us to believe with a million different reasons and methods.

the best way to do it, is to tell us things that we want to believe.

That's exactly what makes it so effective. People always believe things they want to believe, right?

We only fact check or doubt/have skepticism about  things that we don't want to believe!

Thomas Sowell is back again!

Middle East latest: Putin holds call with Iranian president amid escalation fears; Israel 'unhappy' with China's response to Iran attack

https://news.sky.com/story/middle-east-latest-un-nuclear-watchdog-concerned-israel-could-target-iranian-nuclear-facilities-in-revenge-attack-12978800

Key points

Israel 'unhappy' with China's response to Iran attacks

Early this morning we reported that while the West strongly condemned Iran's attack on Israel, China took a different approach.

Foreign minister Wang Yi told his Iranian counterpart that China appreciated Iran's emphasis on not targeting regional and neighbouring countries, and that Beijing believed Iran could "handle the situation well and spare the region further turmoil".

Now reports suggest Israel is disappointed with China's response to Saturday's attack, when Iran launched more than 300 missiles and drones.

"We were hoping for stronger condemnation and clear acknowledgment of Israel’s right to defend itself," said Yuval Waks, the deputy chief of the Israeli mission in China, according to the The South China Morning Post.

"Unfortunately, we did not see that, which is why we were unhappy with the statement," he said.

Hey Mike,

Good analogy! I hope Israel keeps any retaliation to a minimum. However, I think it is more complicated than how you worded it. Iran, itself (the leadership, not the people as a whole since the majority hate the leadership being Islamic extremists...I have a longtime friend from there), is a longtime bully to Israel since they have always provided support to anti-Israel terrorist groups:

"Successive Iranian regimes have vowed to destroy Israel."

"Tehran provides support to Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, Hamas in the Palestinian territories, and factions in Syria and Iraq. “Wherever Israel looks right now, it sees Iran on its border, even though Iran does not border Israel,” said Yossi Mekelberg, an associate fellow in Chatham House’s Middle East and North Africa Program."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/04/16/iran-israel-attack-shadow-war/

So, the short term bully in essence punched in the face and knocked out the teeth of a longer-term bully who wants Israel destroyed! In that vein, it wasn't totally unprovoked. Secretly, I bet many if not most Iranian civilians love what Israel did! My friend told me they loved it when Trump did something similar to kill top Iranian military leaders. He told me that many of his Iranian friends like Trump for that reason!

Thanks much, Larry!

Great points but the thing that made THIS attack different than Trumps or most other times is that they did it in the middle of the war with Gaza when tensions are at all time highs.

This was a guarantee of greatly escalating the tensions with a retaliation by Iran inevitable too.

A year ago, or any other time, its very unlikely that Iran would have responded this way to the bully in the Middle East.

I get the Arabs wanting to exterminate Israel IS WRONG mentality.

We should ask this:

Did Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate:

1. Create a safer world for Israel in the Middle East? No

2. Increase the hatred for Israel? Yes

3. Escalate the war and increase the likelihood of it expanding and lasting longer. Yes

4. Likely increase the length of time that Netanyahu will remain in power? Yes

Netanyahu knew the answers before he blew up Iran's consulate in Syria.

If this was REALLY about DEFENDING Israel, then we got all the wrong answers above!!

+++++++++++++

So, the short term bully in essence punched in the face and knocked out the teeth of a longer-term bully who wants Israel destroyed!

You're on top of the history here(or should be). I think you know well that Israel has ALWAYS been the bully from the beginning which is the biggest reason that Arabs want them destroyed.

This is only 1 biased view below and there's another (Israel's)  side but to ignore this view for why Palestinians feel this way is to ignore their motivation and means not understanding why they are CONVINCED that Israel  has been the bully for many decades.

Not understanding why they sincerely feel this way and with some solid reasoning on their part to feel this way and to blame the problem on that lack of understanding is to ensure NEVER having the solution to peace for Israel.

You can take this one to the bank:

Bombing the Iranian consulate did NOT make Israel safer and did NOT contribute towards peace.

Are those not the most important issues here for both of us?

Why not for Netanyahu?

Is Israel better off now than they were 10 years ago? 1 year ago? Since October 7th?

It didn't get better for Israel and the Middle East since Oct. 7th it got MUCH worse.

1 thing that a person should ask themselves every day but we never do.

Regardless of if their life in shambles or they're on top of the hill.

I'm stuck at this general level for some time and it might stink or it might be great, depending on the individual's situation........however, I can do things TODAY that make my situation slightly better or do things that make it slightly worse than they are now is right now.

Over time, slightly better X 100 adds up to a PROFOUNDLY better.

Same thing with slightly worse X 100 over time.

Has Israel been making decisions that cause things to be incrementally better or worse since October 7th?

That's why escalation and the threat for a global war is looming.

Who's making these bad decisions and why?

Already answered!

There will never be agreement between one side and the other about who started this. One side insists the starting point was Oct. 7.

Yes, that's a new starting point for THIS escalation.  But we can go to the starting point which resulted in Gaza being an "outdoor prison" according to the UN before Oct. 7.

Anyway, despite this, Netanyahu has 10 times more power to influence where we are going from day to day here........the decisions that make it slightly better or in this case, sometimes greatly worse.

For 6 decades of my 68 years, I was absolutely convinced that Israel was always right, no matter what. That the Jews, being the descendants of God's chosen people (God chose to reveal himself to……the Israelites, according to……the Israelites) were on the right side and always persecuted but never doing anything to deserve it.

After October 7th, I spent many dozens of hours doing objective research. Looking at the history, legalities, actions and other dynamics with an OPEN mind.

I was dumbfounded. metmike had spent his entire life in an indoctrinated state, ignorant of the real facts because of what his Catholic religion taught him.

That wasn't intended to be a knock on my religion, though it comes off that way.

It's was my path to the current state of objective enlightenment that includes a better understanding of the other side that I was lied to about.

Not lied to for nefarious reasons when practicing my faith.........however, others have twisted things to make it nefarious against the Arab world And the history in the Middle East.

Gods chosen people or not, the horrific  atrocities that Israel is committing against 2 million of  the human beings that God created in Gaza because of 1 man is a massive violation of Gods laws!

Thanks,  mcfarm!

Good point on the terrorism too.

So we should ask what increases terrorism in the real, not theoretical world.

Having more money to spend on it, like you stated for sure.

but most importantly, INCENTIVE is what drives a young person to turning into a radical terrorist.

Not all rich people and countries use the money for terrorism but all terrorists will use almost all their resources for terrorism if allowed.

The war on Gaza has been the biggest terrorism recruitment tool in history.

For every terrorist that Israel kills, their actions are serving as recruitment for an additional 10.

Sadly, with the US equipping and assisting Israel  and the US having open borders, there is a near 100% chance of more terrorist attacks from the Arab world In our country.

Makes absolute sense. They cant beat us in any other way so they resort to terrorism out of desperation  to generate some brief victories.

How do we stop it?

Help Israel commit Genocide against Muslims/Palestinians?

other side of the coin, MM. Many of your answers on Israel are those same answers we have attempted in various wars for decades. Win the hearts and minds. We fail everytime we try for many reasons. Number one we not dealing with normal people Normal people do not make speeches every day of the week bragging about how they hate Israel and America and drive Israel into the sea. Number 2 their philosophy is death to who? Right Israel and America. What we have lost is the will to win. We go into battle with  no will to win but a great will  to change hearts and minds.......big problem.  we have proven with our generosity, blood and treasure we cannot nation build.

That's what I used to think too about the Middle East because that's all that I heard, living in the United States. Words and Propaganda.

I will NEVER be pro Iran or pro any of the terrorist organizations but we can understand what makes them tick.

We also have the power and should have the better judgment to control them.

Netanyahu completely destroying the Iranian consulate during their war on Gaza was clearly a message to provoke them.

And to trigger a response by Iran. .....so that Netanyahu can say: "look everybody, they want to destroy us, we are only defending Israel!!!"

On the US trying so hard to be peace makers. We actually did have a guy that made some progress but even back then, differences on Gaza and the West Bank were impossible to resolve.

Camp David Accords and the Arab-Israeli Peace Process

https://history.state.gov/milestones/1977-1980/camp-david

The only way that there will ever be movement in the direction of permanent peace is with negotiations for a 2 state solution.

Two-state solution

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-state_solution

The two-state solution to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict proposes to resolve the conflict by establishing two nation states in former Mandatory Palestine. The implementation of a two-state solution would involve the establishment of an independent State of Palestine alongside the State of Israel.

been many offers many times. seems {memory fails} Trump had a near miss on the table that the terrorists rejected at the last moment. Also how do we now go about a 2 state solution with various terrorist groups in command and control along with Hammas who the Palestine people handed government over to. That would be a Houdini trick beyond Houdini. Now if the people of Palestine would rise up with a revolutionary type fight for independence that would be a foundation to live and let live. That ending is worth an NTR post of the week, mcfarm!

Let's hope that Netanyahu shows restraint with any response here. He got the exact reaction that he knew would happen. He's got alot of people upset with Iran.

We should note that Israel obliterated Iran's diplomatic compound in Syria with a surprise attack and KILLED people, doing much more damage than the response by Iran.

It's like my bully analogy earlier that may be lost.  The MUCH MORE POWERFUL bully caused an order of magnitude more damage by knocking out the victims teeth than they incurred by having dirt thrown at them in response.

Why does MUCH MORE POWERFUL Israel need to respond, when after the exchange, they caused much more death?

Call it a victory on all fronts, especially in public perception from the condemnation coming over Iran's attack.

Speaking of Iran's attack. It was NOT intended to do damage. It was more of a symbolic act.  How do we know this?

Everybody on the planet knew that Iran was attacking this weekend. Note the markets on Friday.  Since when would a country that wants to hurt you, advertise to you when their attack is coming, knowing about the iron dome and other features, so that you can get everything in place to stop it?

Never!

Unless they want you to stop it, while at the same time, allowing for their own display of of  a strong, state sponsored response and to send a MESSAGE without killing people/doing major damage.

This is a wonderful article below:

Why Israel’s attack on Iranian consulate in Syria was a gamechanger

A war long fought through proxies, assassinations and strikes outside Israel has spilled into the open

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/14/why-israel-attack-on-iranian-consulate-in-syria-was-a-gamechanger

The burning question is whether, as Vakil suggests, Israel will feel content to portray its defence against Iran’s attack as a “success” in and of itself or whether it will risk striking back at Iran and further escalating the war.

“Iran’s retaliation was choreographed and telegraphed,” wrote HA Hellyer, a Middle East expert and senior fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, on X in the immediate aftermath of Iran’s attack.

“[There was] almost zero chance it was going to inflict damage on Israel with that level of warning. The point was to make a scene, and it did that. Iran’s payoff? Reputational advancement as ‘resistance’ internationally.

I largely agree with mcfarm. Would I like to see 2 states? Sure (even though it is now a pipe dream) but only if the Palestinian state weren’t run by Hamas or some other terrorist group. As he said, this has been tried a number of times. As a matter of fact, the original plan was for two states (partition plan), but the Arabs resisted and instead civil war broke out:

“On 29 November 1947, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a partition plan for Palestine, then under British rule. This led to the outbreak of the 1947-1948 civil war on the following day as the Arabs sought to resist partition.[1][2] Following initial military conquests by the Jewish militias, on 14 May 1948 the State of Israel issued its declaration of independence. On 15 May, war was declared on Israel by the Arab League (Egypt, Transjordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen) who entered Palestine, launching the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. The outcome was a victory for Israel.”

Thanks, Larry.

A lot has happened over the almost 6 decades since then. It will take a miracle to work out a 2 state solution but even if that's not in the future, the path that Israel has been on the past 6 months is the wrong one, in my opinion.

I'm also looking at this as much more than what seems to be the right thing to do.

And more than what's most likely to result in peace, which seems almost impossible.

We have to seriously consider what's in the best interest for Israel's SURVIVAL and for them to be prosperous and have some semblance of peace and security.

These current, escalating conflicts absolutely cannot go on endlessly, even if Israel maintains the upper hand continuously.

It will be a huge drag on Israel's resources that could be much better spent on productive measures. Using their great talents to advance positive things for Israel and the world.

We're moving rapidly in the exact wrong direction. I'm not asking for peace or a solution.......just asking that we move in the right direction.

Slight and slow progress by itself could work wonders. After awhile, it adds up.

This will never happen with Netanyahu making decisions to save his own skin from being voted out and going back to the trial for his previous corruption.... at the expense of Israel's future. Claiming to be doing it as self defense or for Israel's future, while the real world has been shows the complete opposite.

joj asked me early on what I would do if in Netanyahu's shoes and I gave him a detailed answer and will state it again, now that the conflict is 6+ months old.

1. Fighting Hamas never needed collective punishment. Starving 2 million innocent, mainly children and women. Depriving them of water, fuel.  I would have allowed supplies in to lessen the suffering to the vast majority of innocent people.

2. Dropping thousands of massive "dumb bombs" that killed tens of thousands of innocent people, injuring triple that many.  Destroying most of the innocent peoples homes.   I would NOT have done that.

3. I would not have attacked Iran's consulate in Syria. What was to be accomplished that helped defend Israel by that act? Especially during this ramped up, volatile environment. It was a no brainer obvious act to escalate the war and trying to drag others into it.

4. I would have acknoweldged my own bad judgments/decisions in allowing Oct. 7th to happen. It was a horrible atrocity and Hammas should be vehemntly condemned no matter what and Hammas get's 100% of the blame but pretending he didn't do things to strengthen Hammas years earlier and got burned, is dishonestly that I would not display.

5. I would have acknowledged the outrage and reasoning of  95% of the world and  used it to see things from the viewpoint of objective observers. Told the truth about everything else too but that means I would make a bad politician (-:

I would have taken actions to best serve Israel and not self serving actions to stay in power and to serve a personal agenda.

I agree with this because the slogan “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free” implies no more Israel and just one state with majority Arabs. No Israel means no country for Jews to emigrate to for safety, which is a major reason for it due to the Holocaust. It got strong bipartisan support although several “squad” members (AOC, Tlaib, Omar) not surprisingly voted no.

It's another great point that you brought this up, Larry!

The massive increase in hatred for Jews and antisemitism since Oct. 7th.

Regardless of the reasons, it's just flat out wrong to hate people for their nationality, religion or other things they were born with or have a right to embrace.

Or because of their opinion. We have a right to an opinion, even if its wrong......as long as the opinion isn't intentionally hurting people.

We know exactly what's causing this. It's a legit reason for people to disagree but never to hurt others that disagree.

However, we also know that this is the real world and people hate other people when they shouldn't and some of those messed up people ACT to hurt the people they hate.

In the real world, Netanyahu's actions are increasing hatred for Jews by a lot.  This is a powerful, additional factor for why he should go.

Alot of people hated MLK too, so it's not just the hate but the REASON for the hate.

I condemn the hatred and antisemitism which is never justified but much of it is being brought on by Netanyahu's actions. We can try to stop the hatred by passing laws and holding people accountable for antisemitism but the best way to stop it (considering the real world) would be to eliminate the SOURCE of the increased hatred.........Netanyahu's agenda.

On the condemning of the slogan.

From the river to the sea': Why these 6 words spark fury and passion over the Israel-Hamas war

https://apnews.com/article/river-sea-israel-gaza-hamas-protests-d7abbd756f481fe50b6fa5c0b907cd49

I can appreciate the reason people get overly sensitive about these words. Part of it, is that they learn to be upset at them more than if different words with the same meaning were uttered. It's THOSE words.

Like the N word has evolved with time when a white person uses it. Same word from a black person is cool but not a white person.

Society establishes labels and certain groups decide certain things should be so to empower words. But it backfires in cases like this.

With the N word, blacks have given white racists a powerful, magic word that can cause a tremendous amount of hurt and/or anger.  And they are taught to be hurt/angry by society when a white person says this word.

Racist whites on the other hand feel empowered by using this word and can use it as a powerful tool to hurt, like a verbal weapon.

My black son in law states that he just considers people that talk this way as ignorant and feels sorry for them not angry or hurt.

I stated his wise, mature and objective opinion because as a white guy, mine can't possibly  carry the same weight.

https://naacp.org/resources/naacp-official-position-use-word-nigger-and-n-word

++++++++++++++

Regardless of what I think about society designating certain words for having such a  high impact, I respect the fact that they do cause hurt in some people and DON'T USE THEM.

Unless we are actually talking about usage of the word itself, like right now there's no reason for a non racist to use this word.

Discussing these 4 words,  from the river to the sea, all day long is no big deal for us because we are FOR Israel. Sort of like the N word for black people.

if somebody not for Israel uses it like a white racist saying the N word it suddenly is elevated to some of the most powerful 4 words that exist!

Israel has attacked Iran to respond to irans response to Israel’s earlier destroying It’s consulate in Syria and killing key officials.

so now do we wait to see what Irans response will be to the Israel response to the Iranian response To the initial israel attack that started this?

hopefully minor damage and this ends it

Jean,

One of the saddest things is that we are just accepting this stuff as the new normal.

2+ year war in Ukraine and instead of discussing peace(other than Russia) many on "our" side only push hard for measures that will extend the war as long as possible.

The war in Gaza is not a shock anymore.

Now we have Israel and Iran directly attacking each other.

Hey, it's just life on planet earth in the year 2024.

Everything is either maintaining the wars OR escalating them. The elites making all the most important decisions have personal motives for doing this.

Dangerous time because some of these countries have nuclear weapons.

When there is no war...........there's almost no risk of using nuclear weapons. NATO is dead set on never giving up on getting Ukraine which is the most dangerous dynamic.

The bigger risk is when Iran has enriched uranium enough for nuclear weapons grade.  They may be there now.

Netanyahu did a great job of taking the heat off of his genocide/revenge operation in Gaza, didn’t he?

Now the world is more concerned with the Israel vs Iran show down.

Even if you are 100% behind Israel using even more force in the region, ask yourself.

In the 6+ months since Netanyahu invaded Gaza, have things gotten better or worse for Israel?

Have things escalated or de escalated?

Where is the Netanyahu plan that de escalates?

Answer: there isn’t one. Just a constant telling us that they are winning the war and there’s much more to go before winning the war..

When the war ends, Netanyahu will face a resumption of his corruption trial and potentially early elections which show he will be crushed by a landslide.

This is why the war will go on as long as it can serve his personal political agenda.

At some point, even that clock will run out and he will eventually be held accountable.

But a lot will happen before then. We could have a devastating, widespread war in the Middle East. Or WW3.

He hopes that his proclamation of “I defeated Hamas” will save his skin.

if that was the case, his ratings should be going up while Israel is winning the war. They are going down.

In the world. Israels credibility has been going down not up on this current path. A lot!

Antisemitism has been going up not down on this path. A lot!

For somebody that has supported Israel their entire life, I have to ask others……why would we continue on such a destructive path?

To support Israel?

This is enabling Israel and its current horrendous leadership. They need an intervention of some kind……hopefully soon to replace Netanyahu Because he’s taking Israel in the exact wrong direction real fast!

sending Israel another XX billion in aid is giving a stamp of approval and assisting them in self destructive behavior.

Who doesn’t know that they can easily win a war against defenseless Gaza?

It’s HOW they win the war that matters to the rest of the world.

The US sending them thousands more of the massive bombs to indiscrimanently kill thousands of children and women is causing them to lose the ethical war and the one  that matters to 95% of the world.

Thats what we‘re doing …….and calling it ”supporting Israel”

Our politicians and media are bought and paid for by the powerful Jewish coalitions in our country.

Just another reason that we are making ourselves LESS secure and becoming targets for terrorists and nefarious  sources.

NO, we are not standing up for what’s right, we’re caving in to what’s wrong with 95% of the world against this.

We live here in the US though and mostly read and listen to the propaganda  that’s  stealing our intelligence so posts like this are like a foreign language to many people.

This is a wonderful, insightful article!

Israel Attack on Iran Is What World War III Looks Like

Like countless other hostilities, the stealthy Israeli missile and drone strike on Iran doesn’t risk war. It is war.

https://theintercept.com/2024/04/20/iran-israel-world-war-iii/

World War III instead is all around, a planet that is aflame with armed conflict and awash in arms sales, an overlapping Venn diagram of killing that engulfs the globe, and a constant bonanza for national security “experts” and the military–industrial complex.

And what even happened to neutrality in the past few years? Switzerland and Austria have provided arms to Ukraine. Sweden and Finland have joined NATO.

Only little Costa Rica, Iceland, Mauritius, Panama, and Vanuatu have no formal armed forces, but even there, Iceland is a very active member of NATO and Panama is a close military ally of the U.S.

US House passes $95bn in aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. What next?

The bill, which was stalled for a long time following deep splits in Republican camps, now heads to the Senate for a vote.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/4/21/us-house-passes-almost-100-billion-in-aid-for-ukraine-israel-what

How much aid will go to Israel?

The foreign aid package allocates some $26.38bn for Israel, including $9.1bn for humanitarian needs.

Specifically, the allocation will see:

  • $5.2bn go to replenishing and expanding Israel’s missile and rocket defence system;
  • $3.5bn for buying advanced weapons systems and $1bn to enhance weapons production;
  • $4.4bn for other supplies and services to Israel; and
  • $9.2bn for humanitarian purposes, including in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.

However, despite allocating funds for humanitarian assistance, the bill stipulates that funding for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) is prohibited. This follows Israeli unsubstantiated accusations that the agency’s staff were involved in Hamas’s October 7 attacks.

But the Palestinian presidency condemned the bill as “an aggression against the Palestinian people” and a “dangerous escalation”.

The money would “translate into thousands of Palestinian casualties in the Gaza Strip” and the occupied West Bank, said Nabil Abu Rudeina, spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
