Thanks, Jean!

Exactly, Jim!

Our price hadn't gone up yet much as of yesterday but I was telling Deb,  my wife for 10 days that it would.

I was listening to NPR yesterday and they had an energy expert on.

They asked him if Biden could release oil from the SPR in the event that we have an oil supply disruption or to help with higher gas prices.

I already knew why that's a problem and the guest said:.......Ummm, well, Biden already released too much and the SPR is down to 1984 levels now.

We remember the many  energy retarded press release's, like this one from last year by the Biden administration.

Telling us that actions to greatly weaken our energy security are really strengthening U.S. Energy security.

FACT SHEET: President Biden to Announce New Actions to Strengthen U.S. Energy Security, Encourage Production, and Bring Down Costs

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/10/18/fact-sheet-president-biden-to-announce-new-actions-to-strengthen-u-s-energy-security-encourage-production-and-bring-down-costs/

++++++++++

Of course prices never got down to where they confidently claimed they would refill the reserve and now, we actually have a potential emergency for which the reserve was intended but Biden sold off half of it for entirely political reasons in 2022 when there  was no justification using the supply disruption threshold standards that the SPR was designed to be used for.

Now we have a legit, potential supply disruption causing war in the Middle East and the graph below proves that Biden is an energy policy/agenda incompetent. There are numerous other reasons why this guy should not be president but we can solidly PROVE this huge reason with data like that below and statement like the one above.

Access to cheap, reliable energy (fossil fuels) is the life blood to almost every developed countries economy.

Taking steps to maintain that and reduce exposure to risk should always be priority #1.

Biden's energy policy decisions are easily the worst of any president in history.

This administration likes to call the premium on crude oil "Putin's price hike"

While they intentionally caused and fight a war with Putin, using corrupt Ukraine.

Biden has had every opportunity to give Putin what he wanted, starting from 6 months before the war started.

An assurance that Ukraine would not become part of NATO for X number of years. That is all Putin wanted. No kidding. The lying propaganda tells you otherwise and pretends that Putin is after other countries too. WRONG!

Instead it was Joe Biden that refused to negotiate, told Zelensky to stop his negotiations and still refuses to negotiate over Ukraine's becoming part of NATO today.

This is Joe Biden's price hike and it wasn't President Putin's decision to drain half of the SPR oil in the United States to make us much more vulnerable to supply disruptions.

Adding to the propaganda and deceit and defending Biden's retarded energy policies by the MSM. Get this fact check:

Fact check: No, the government is not emptying the Strategic Petroleum Reserve

Here's the actual data, once again  You decide if the government has been emptying the Strategic Petroleum Reserve yourself because the MSM, like shown above will just deceive you.

Here's the actual data.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The data below proves that the Biden administration started releasing crude oil from the SPR in SEPTEMBER 2021!  That's 5 months BEFORE the invasion!!

This is also when Zelensky met with Biden at the White House and Biden told him to stop negotiating with Putin. Let Putin invade because the US will have your back and we will get you into NATO. Tell Putin to shove it.

The SPR releases, starting in September 2021, were part of the Biden plan to have a war with Russia/Putin!

Why Gas Is Getting Cheaper Despite the Worst Middle Eastern War in a Decade

https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2023/11/why-gas-is-getting-cheaper-amid-the-israel-hamas-war.html

+++++++++++++

Another factor that they failed to mention is that 4% of Americans have electric cars which is cutting down on gasoline demand by, maybe 2% because people don't use them for long trips. Also, newer vehicles are getting much better fuel efficiency and some hybrids, like my youngest son Mac, uses get close to 50 mpg(gas and electric)!!

Lower gas prices are happening DESPITE Biden, not because of him. His green agenda does best with higher gas prices which makes government supported electric vehicles more competitive.

Here are some headlines for stories/discussions the last 2 years.

The thing to keep in mind is that gas prices are NOT lower because of some Biden induced fundamental that improved the market structure by increasing supply........which is what is needed to provide energy security and lower prices in the long run. If that was the case, crude oil in storage would not be at the lowest level in 38 years(THANKS TO BIDEN). Diesel and heating oil in storage would not be at the lowest levels for this time of year ever(THANKS IN PART TO BIDEN).

I'll give you the REAL reason that gasoline prices have been going lower on the next page. It has little to do with Biden.

Much less demand is a bigger factor than the less supplies coming in because of Biden's policies.

A small part of this reduced demand can be attributed to the number of electric vehicles on the road which is cutting gasoline demand by maybe 1%.

Biden is a strong advocate for the government subsidized fake green energy and can take credit for a tiny part of this.

Gasoline Demand Plummets

October 6, 2023

https://realinvestmentadvice.com/gasoline-demand-plummets/

The latest U.S. Energy Information Agency (EIA) report shows that gasoline demand in the U.S. plummeted to its lowest seasonal level in nearly 25 years. The recent spike in gas prices, along with storms in the Mid-Atlantic and New York City, weighed on demand. But, they do not fully account for the steep decline. The graph below shows gasoline prices (blue) are now near the lowest levels in the last two years. At the same time, crude oil prices are about $15 a barrel above their two-year lows. It’s too early to tell if the demand decline for gasoline is due to weakening economic activity.

With no other substantive explanation to fully explain this sudden plunge in demand, the most likely explanation is a big slow down in the economy. This isn't me speculating like every body else has for over a year(that did NOT include me) that the economy was going to slow down. I'm only using the very powerful DATA above.

Look at the graph. The 2 lines move exactly in tandem for almost the entire time frame then, SUDDENLY at around the end of August, for the first time on the chart, they went in opposite directions and we also had the lowest demand for gasoline in 25 years which clearly caused it.

In most recession/economic slow downs, gasoline demand drops in tandem and even before most indicators tell us that we actually have the slow down/recession.

I will GUESS a better than 70% chance that this is what we're seeing right now.

Here's another enlightening discussion on U.S. gasoline demand drying up(which is keeping our prices in check).

https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/bumpy-road-ahead-us-gasoline-demand-energy-transition-2023-07-24/

EFFICIENCY

The U.S. light-duty vehicle fleet's fuel economy has grown to a record 26.4 miles per gallon (mpg) in 2022 from 13 mpg in 1975, when Corporate Average Fuel Economy laws were first introduced, according to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) data. Biden wants to nearly double this to 52 mpg by 2026.

Most Americans, however, are buying SUVs, pickups and mini vans, which have the worst fuel efficiency in the light-duty vehicle fleet.

In 2022, SUVs accounted for a record 45% of new vehicle output, while pickups accounted for 16%, according to EPA data. Sedans and wagons fell to 26%. Pickups and SUVs had a fuel economy of 19.3 mpg and 24.1 mpg, respectively, in 2021. Sedans and wagons had the highest efficiency at 32.2 mpg.

Reuters Graphics

U.S. refiners are geared to produce more gasoline than anything else. During the pandemic, many oil companies and top trading outfits predicted demand would never recover. That precipitated refinery closures - six refineries shut or converted to biofuels production from 2020 to 2021, removing 750,000 bpd of capacity, according to the EIA.

Since then, some capacity has been added to match rising demand, and some refiners have started transitioning their output to focus on the growing petrochemicals markets, said Alex Hodes, energy analyst at StoneX.

Others are tapping international markets to make up for lower domestic demand, exporting a record 323 million barrels of gasoline last year, according to EIA data.

Landlocked Midwest refiners are likely to be in the worst position because they do not have easy access to the export market, said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.com.

The U.S. could lose up to 2 million bpd, or more than 10% of refining capacity over the next 5-10 years, depending on the pace of the transition, he said

+++++++++++

Considering the extremely high gasoline prices domestically in 2022,  what were we doing exporting a record 323 million barrels of gasoline last year?

I get that the energy markets are global but if you want lower prices domestically, you keep domestic supplies high!!

As a reminder to others. Producers know this.

Electric cars don't use ethanol and when gasoline domestic demand dries up, so does ethanol demand.

That can be made up for with increasing exports.
