Millions in US north-east brace for ‘once-in-a-generation’ Arctic blast

Meteorologists warn frigid weather could bring record-breaking low temperatures to New York, New Jersey and New England

'Once in a generation cold' coming to the Northeast this weekend

Wind chills could drop nearly 40 degrees below zero Saturday morning across most of New England. The current forecast calls for this to be the coldest air since February 2016, the last time a cold snap like this occurred.

metmike: Do these people even pay attention to make sure their blatant exaggerations even make sense?  2016 was 7 years ago. In my generation, we've seen at least a dozen blasts of air COLDER than this.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Let's use my generation to find out how far we need to go back to find the last "once in a generation" extreme cold outbreak like this. You'll note that the Feb. 2016 colder than this outbreak in the Northeast, didn't even show up below.

America's Most Extreme Cold Outbreaks

How about Feb.  2021,  Jan.  2019, Dec. 2013 thru Feb. 2014.

Jan/Feb 1996,  Jan. 1994, Dec 1990, Dec. 1989, Jan. 1985, Dec. 1983, Jan 1982, Jan 1977.

In almost all those cases, the cold was MORE impressive than this Arctic blast!

Just over a month ago, they were using that same bs term:

From last Summer, most have probably forgotten their blatant abuse of this term: 1 in 1,000 year rain/flooding event.

In the Dallas area, for instance,  they used it for a rain event, which was the 4th time a very similar event happened during the previous 100 years.

4th time this Summer for a 1 in 1,000 year rain event........but the same thing happened in 2018, 1932 and 1922 at this location, so it was actually a 1 in 25 year event.  What a 7% increase in H2O means. Golden Rule of Climate extremes. Weather/Climate related deaths have been reduced by 95% over the last 100 years. Why they do this. August 2022

They just keep  vehemently violating the indisputable authentic science to support the politically manufactured/fake climate crisis. From Dr. Cliff Mass:

Considering the substantial confusion in the media about this critical issue, let me provide the GOLDEN RULE OF CLIMATE EXTREMES. Here it is:

The more extreme a climate or weather record is, the greater the contribution of natural variability.

Or to put it a different way, the larger or more unusual an extreme, the higher proportion of the extreme is due to natural variability.

What's funny is that many of them pick up on the same phrases/verbiage:

New England braces for ‘generational’ cold blast

OK,  not everybody. This meteorologist below is more accurate/honest and less sensational  with the descriptions.
