Pelosi: Ignore Trump, listen to scientists

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/492852-pelosi-ignore-trump-listen-to-scientists

The letter arrives as Trump is defending himself from a series of news reports indicating that he ignored early warnings from top health officials and White House advisers that the coronavirus posed a profound threat to public health and the U.S. economy — one demanding an immediate and aggressive response from the president. Instead, the reports found, Trump waited weeks before promoting strict social distancing guidelines, allowing the virus to spread widely in the meantime.

Trump, delivering near-daily press briefings on the coronavirus fight, has dismissed those accusations, noting that his late-January ban on most travel from China, where the coronavirus originated, came before a single case was reported in the United States.

"I am supposed to close down the the greatest economy in the history of the world and we don't have one case confirmed in the United States?" he asked his critics rhetorically from the White House on Monday.

That defense has done nothing to placate Pelosi, who said it's clear the president hesitated while the virus spread, exacerbating the crisis nationwide.

"The truth is that in January Donald Trump was warned about this pandemic, ignored those warnings, took insufficient action and caused unnecessary death and disaster," she wrote Tuesday."

metmike: Is that actually true?

Find out on the next few  pages what the truth is and what Nancy Pelosi was doing and saying a month after she claims the president took insufficient action. Just the facts.

Nancy Pelosi Visits San Francisco’s Chinatown Amid Coronavirus Concerns

By NBC Bay Area staff

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi toured San Francisco's Chinatown Monday to send a message. She said there's no reason tourists or locals should be staying away from the area because of coronavirus concerns.

"That’s what we’re trying to do today is to say everything is fine here," Pelosi said. "Come because precautions have been taken. The city is on top of the situation."

As Pelosi walked from the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory to lunch at a dim sum restaurant, she hugged friends and waved to onlookers. She downplayed the racism issue, saying she understands people are concerned about China – the epicenter of the novel coronavirus.

"But that shouldn’t be carried over to Chinatown in San Francisco," she said. "I hope that it’s not that. But all I can say is, 'I’m here.' We feel safe and sound, so many of us coming here."

Letter: Pelosi put lives in danger to Covid-19 virus in late February

https://tucson.com/opinion/letters/letter-pelosi-put-lives-in-danger-to-covid-19-virus-in-late-february/article_30778548-79e8-11ea-9ce3-f79d3ce6a5a6.html

We had our first identified case of the Covid-19 virus on January 21. On January 31 President Trump enacted his China travel ban and quarantine. That same day he declared a Public Emergency. In late February, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi traveled to San Francisco's Chinatown. She walked around urging people to go there, saying, "That’s what we’re trying to do today is to say everything is fine here. We know that there is concern surrounding tourism, traveling all throughout the world, but we think it’s very safe to be in Chinatown and hope that others will come." Since then, because of the virus spread throughout California, San Francisco implemented a stringent "Shelter in place" order. Recently, Pelosi said, "The President, his denial at the beginning, was deadly. As the President fiddles, people are dying." Of course all through December and January, she and Democrats in Congress were "fiddling" with Impeaching Trump, causing his time and attention to be diverted. Pelosi cannot rise above partisan politics!

metmike: Pelosi was not alone, other democrats, upset with Trumps China travel ban were outspoken about it being a xenophobic action and some  of them were in NYC.........encouraging people to come out and join the huge crowds and not worry about the coronavirus scare.

I wonder how many thousands of cases were being spread during these early days in the worlds hotspot(NYC)  as democrats gave this horrible advice.

metmike: Now for some more truth to contradict the MSM lies:

How New York City’s Emergency Ventilator Stockpile Ended Up on the Auction Block

https://www.propublica.org/article/how-new-york-city-emergency-ventilator-stockpile-ended-up-on-the-auction-block

"A 2006 pandemic plan warned that New York City could be short as many as 9,500 ventilators. But the city only acquired a few hundred, which were ultimately scrapped because it couldn’t afford to maintain them.

In July 2006, with an aggressive and novel strain of the flu circulating in Asia and the Middle East, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg(same guy that ran for president) unveiled a sweeping pandemic preparedness plan.

Using computer models to calculate how a disease could spread rapidly through the city’s five boroughs, experts concluded New York needed a substantial stockpile of both masks and ventilators. If the city confronted a pandemic on the scale of the 1918 Spanish flu, the experts found, it would face a “projected shortfall of between 2,036 and 9,454 ventilators.”

The city’s department of health, working with the state, was to begin purchasing ventilators and to “stockpile a supply of facemasks,” according to the report. Shortly after it was released, Bloomberg held a pandemic planning summit with top federal officials, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, now the face of the national coronavirus response.

In the end, the alarming predictions failed to spur action. In the months that followed, the city acquired just 500 additional ventilators as the effort to create a larger stockpile fizzled amid budget cuts.

Even those extra ventilators are long gone, the health department said on Sunday. The lifesaving devices broke down over time and were auctioned off by the city at least five years ago because the agency couldn’t afford to maintain them."

metmike: So NYC came into this pandemic very unprepared because its democratic leaders made bad decisions over the past 14 years to cause this.

So who came to the rescue over the last month?

Yeah, President Trump and the Federal Government.

President Trump deploying Navy hospital ship to New York amid coronavirus outbreak

https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/politics/albany/2020/03/18/coronavirus-trump-deploys-navy-hospital-new-york-cuomo-says/2864789001/

ALBANY – President Donald Trump will deploy a floating Navy hospital to New York to help respond to the novel coronavirus outbreak that threatens to overwhelm the state's hospital system, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday.

The USNS Comfort, a ship that has about 1,000 hospital beds, will soon be sent to the New York City harbor to help free up space at its existing hospitals, Cuomo said. The state is scrambling to increase its hospital capacity while the virus continues its rapid spread.

Military Doctors Are Now Deploying Directly to NYC Hospitals

https://www.military.com/daily-news/2020/04/05/military-doctors-are-now-deploying-directly-nyc-hospitals.html

The military has started deploying 1,100 additional doctors, nurses and medical aides to New York City, and a "few hundred" of them will work in 11 overburdened local hospitals where staffs are exhausted from the battle against coronavirus, Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Sunday.

The majority of the additional personnel from Navy and Air Force medical units will report to the Javits Convention Center on Manhattan's West Side, but others are going to local facilities where the needs and risks are greatest, Esper said on CNN's "State of the Union."

A total of about 600 personnel from Army medical units at Fort Campbell in Kentucky and Fort Hood in Texas have already deployed to New York City, according to the Army.

At a White House news conference Saturday, President Donald Trump said 1,000 additional military medical personnel would be going to New York City at his direction. But Esper said the number had been boosted to 1,100 after discussions with city and state officials.

"The bulk of them will go to the Javits Center, and then as of late yesterday we agreed to deploy a few hundred of them to 11 New York City hospitals that are also seeing a deficiency when it comes to medical staff," he said.

In previous news conferences, Trump has pointed to the dire situation at Elmhurst General and noted that he grew up nearby in the Queens section called Jamaica Estates.

The huge Javits Center has been converted by the Army Corps of Engineers into a makeshift hospital for 2,900 non-COVID 19 patients. But before any of those patients arrived, the decision was made to convert Javits again to take in coronavirus-positive patients in light of the escalating crisis.

Once the conversion is completed, the Javits Center would be ready to take in, possibly as early as this week, up to 2,500 coronavirus positive patients, Esper said.

At a news conference Saturday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the Javits Center would be entirely funded and staffed by the federal government.

"We will soon be taking over the Javits Center -- a 2,500-bed capacity -- to show you how all in we are," Esper said Sunday. "The United States military will soon be running the largest hospital in the United States."

In addition to the Javits Center, the 1,000-bed hospital ship USNS Comfort is now docked at Pier 90 on the Hudson River to treat non-coronavirus patients. To date, though, the ship has seen only a trickle of patients thus far, according to Pentagon officials.

Trump To Send 4K Ventilators To Help NY Battle Coronavirus

Trump says he’s sending ventilators directly to hospitals battling coronavirus

https://nypost.com/2020/03/30/trump-says-hes-sending-ventilators-directly-to-hospitals-battling-coronavirus/

Cuomo on Tuesday slammed the federal government for sending just 400 ventilators through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. “You want a pat on the back for sending 400 ventilators? You’re missing the magnitude of the problem,” the Democratic governor said.

On Friday, Trump revealed that the federal government actually sent “thousands” of ventilators for New York to use, but that they were sitting in a warehouse in Edison, New Jersey. “They were in the warehouse, ready to go, and New York never took them,” Trump said.

Cuomo said Friday night the ventilators were still in storage because “the hospitals don’t need them yet … the hospitals have enough ventilators today.”

metmike: Not 1 COVID-19 patient that needed a hospital bed in NYC was denied.  Not one patient that needed a ventilator did not get one........and they had plenty to spare.

NYC was gravely underprepared for this pandemic but who came to the rescue to bail them out. President Trump and Federal government.............massive supplies, people and building new hospitals and creating new beds in timely fashion.

Why is the MSM saying the complete opposite and BLAMING President Trump for not doing a good job.

Why is Nancy Pelosi lying and telling us that the president has cost lives, when he has saved lives? She knows that it was the dangerous Democratic advice for people to come join the big crowds in February and early March that likely cost lives. We have her on video doing it.

Feds send ventilators to coronavirus hot spots around country

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/491274-feds-send-ventilators-to-coronavirus-hot-spots-around-country

Trump during a White House briefing said that over the last 24 hours, the federal government has delivered an additional 500 ventilators to New Jersey, which is among the hardest-hit states. He said it also has sent 200 ventilators to Louisiana and 300 to Michigan. Another 600 have gone to Illinois, he said, while Massachusetts will be getting 100.

So there has not been 1 COVID-19 patient in the country that has not had a hospital bed.......including those with black and brown skin(despite us being told some racist things by the MSM about how blacks are being effected) that all received the best treatment available at the hospitals they went to.

Not 1 severely ill COVID-19 patient did not have access to a ventilator.

The reason that the MSM is  not telling you these powerful truths based on the  irrefutable facts just proven with the compelling evidence.........and instead, they want us to believe that President Trump is doing a horrible job and costing lives is because the MSM hates Trump and their top priority is to keep him from being elected.

Nothing new there but now  they are getting so pathetic that they are actually using the worst crisis of our lifetime, twisting the facts like a pretzel to create the latest false negative about President Trump.
