It was you, 1000% and not the sort of thing that I would forget or who used it because it only happened that 1 time during my 8 years as moderator.
Personally, Ive stated this before that I think that nigger is the dumbest word in the English language. Not just dumb for the people using it but also dumb for the targets that make that word so powerful and give the users of that word so much power to hurt them.
My son in law who is black and I discussed this before. I loved his response. He doesn’t take it personal or let it hurt him. To him, it just proves that persons ignorance, which likely included being raised to think and talk that way.
I like that mentality …..a lot.
Regardless, much of the United States, including black people in our country give that word magical powers that emanate/get their strength from our early history of slavery, followed by a century of profound discrimination against black people.
Of course this is only when WHITE people use it to demean or hurt BLACK people.
I respect other people’s reason to feel the way they do even if I feel strongly that it’s a dumb word.
I intentionally used it earlier but not to empower myself or to hurt black people.

I speak out against discrimination and for racial equality and justice all the time.
My use of that word here is the diametrically opposed polar opposite of the way that you used the word, nigger, mcfarm.
You used it as a derogatory term of hatred directed at President Obama.
I used it for an objective analysis of the meaning of words.
Like I said earlier, mcfarm you have a knack for digging your hole deeper and deeper which is exactly what your last response did.
I sincerely try to help you out constantly here, mcfarm but God gave you the free will to make choices, including really bad choices.

I agree with this because the slogan “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free” implies no more Israel and just one state with majority Arabs. No Israel means no country for Jews to emigrate to for safety, which is a major reason for it due to the Holocaust. It got strong bipartisan support although several “squad” members (AOC, Tlaib, Omar) not surprisingly voted no.

It's another great point that you brought this up, Larry!
The massive increase in hatred for Jews and antisemitism since Oct. 7th.
Regardless of the reasons, it's just flat out wrong to hate people for their nationality, religion or other things they were born with or have a right to embrace.
Or because of their opinion. We have a right to an opinion, even if its wrong......as long as the opinion isn't intentionally hurting people.
We know exactly what's causing this. It's a legit reason for people to disagree but never to hurt others that disagree.
However, we also know that this is the real world and people hate other people when they shouldn't and some of those messed up people ACT to hurt the people they hate.
In the real world, Netanyahu's actions are increasing hatred for Jews by a lot. This is a powerful, additional factor for why he should go.
Alot of people hated MLK too, so it's not just the hate but the REASON for the hate.
I condemn the hatred and antisemitism which is never justified but much of it is being brought on by Netanyahu's actions. We can try to stop the hatred by passing laws and holding people accountable for antisemitism but the best way to stop it (considering the real world) would be to eliminate the SOURCE of the increased hatred.........Netanyahu's agenda.

I can appreciate the reason people get overly sensitive about these words. Part of it, is that they learn to be upset at them more than if different words with the same meaning were uttered. It's THOSE words.
Like the N word has evolved with time when a white person uses it. Same word from a black person is cool but not a white person.
Society establishes labels and certain groups decide certain things should be so to empower words.But it backfires in cases like this.
With the N word, blacks have given white racists a powerful, magic word that can cause a tremendous amount of hurt and/or anger. And they are taught to be hurt/angry by society when a white person says this word.
Racist whites on the other hand feel empowered by using this word and can use it as a powerful tool to hurt, like a verbal weapon.
My black son in law states that he just considers people that talk this way as ignorant and feels sorry for them not angry or hurt.
I stated his wise, mature and objective opinion because as a white guy, mine can't possibly carry the same weight.

Regardless of what I think about society designating certain words for having such a high impact, I respect the fact that they do cause hurt in some people and DON'T USE THEM.
Unless we are actually talking about usage of the word itself, like right now there's no reason for a non racist to use this word.
Discussing these 4 words, from the river to the sea, all day long is no big deal for us because we are FOR Israel. Sort of like the N word for black people.
if somebody not for Israel uses it like a white racist saying the N word it suddenly is elevated to some of the most powerful 4 words that exist!

I know exactly where that is and I dated a Jewish girl while at the University of Michigan that grew up close to this.
This makes me personally connected to the tragedy and sadness.
So sad to read about/see this but it's inevitable in our society and part of the blow back from events currently taking place in the Middle East.
This won't even be close to the last such event after already seeing half a dozen terrorist events in the US related to the war in Iran...I mean the brief excursion
