Here’s why Trump won so big in Iowa

https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/4410701-here-why-trump-won-so-big-in-iowa/

A big reason he was able to win was the dramatic improvement in the support he received among Iowa’s evangelical voters. Entrance polls conducted as caucuses-goers went to the polls last night found that 51 percent of evangelicals supported Trump in comparison to 29 percent support for DeSantis and 13 percent for former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley.

This was the case, Axios notes, “even though Bob Vander Plaats, the state’s most prominent evangelical leader and head of The Family Leader — and Gov. Kim Reynolds, who is popular among evangelicals — [backed] DeSantis.”

Much ink has been spilled trying to explain Trump’s hold on the evangelical vote and why evangelicals prefer someone like him, who seems to have no deep religious convictions and has never been a model of piety.

Sorry but this does not speak well for people of "faith".

It shows the correlation of them following sources that tell them things that they want to believe.

Christianity is a wonderful religion that has lifted the world up with countless, positive ethical principles and thousands of organizations to help the less fortunate.

People like MLK and Jimmy Carter were motivated by this.

I love the parables of Jesus, with my favorite being "The Good Samaritan" from Luke, in chapter 10.

However, Donald Trump, King of the Charlatans and biggest cult leader in history has managed to capture the brains of this group and others using the principle of appealing to their vulnerabilities/gullible nature when it comes to believing in things based on faith, not rational thinking.

Nothing will change the minds of Christians indoctrinated to believe in the words of the bible. Nothing. This is the foundation of FAITH.

Same thing with other faiths.........Islam for instance.

Trump has tapped into that by creating an image of himself, not that different than Jesus that people believe in based ENTIRELY on faith. Faith in what Trump tells them, despite a Mt Everest sized mountain of authentic evidence to contradict what he tells them. Faith can do that.

Trump is always fighting for the little guy and like Jesus, constantly being persecuted for it. He is always the victim. Jesus, of course was crucified. Died on the cross.

Trump has manufactured an image of himself being constantly victimized by EVERYBODY but the far right in his flock.

(Sad thing is that there are numerous incidents where Trump is actually right about being targeted, which he uses to make people think he's being victimized ALL the time........even when he commits crimes, tries to overturn a proven secure election with diabolical schemes, 100% inspires/causes an insurrection. Lies tens of thousands of times about.......EVERYTHING)

While Jesus didn't commit crimes and really was an authentic person loaded with truths to help people in the world that needed the most help....... charismatic Trump  has manufactured an image of himself with complete lies and absurd facts that creates the person that evangelicals want NOT the one he truly is.

He makes promises and tells them things that  they want to be true.

The most ironic thing about this is that Trump is completely using these people. Totally. 100% absolutely using these people because he knows how to manipulate them.

Was Donald Trump America's First Atheist President? | Opinion

As an adult, Trump rarely speaks of his religion. When pressed, he stumbles when asked about tenets of the Christian faith. This is, perhaps, because of his distaste for it. Trump biographer and author of The Big Cheat, David Cay Johnston told me, "In his book Think Big, Trump goes on for six pages denouncing Christians as 'fools,' 'idiots,' and 'schmucks.'"

Trump knows exactly  how to exploit the people he considers "fools, idiots and schmucks" for his own self enriching objectives.

This survey below proves how effective this snake oil salesman has been at brainwashing people of faith.

More Republicans see Trump as ‘person of faith’ than Pence, Romney: poll

by Lauren Irwin - 09/27/23 3:10

+++++++++++++

65% of Rs believe that Mitt Romney is not a person faith? Every one of them is dead wrong, as are the 48% of Rs that said the same thing about Mike Pence.

With regards to Trump, read the discussion at that link and look at his words from his book above. Even without that, one can see that he has the quintessential ANTI Christian philosophy in life by his actions and words.

What this shows, again is how people create worlds of what they  WANT TO BELIEVE. They ignore all the authentic facts and go to sources that grant their wishes of a manufactured world that lines up with everything they want to believe in.

They assign positive  traits to people and sources that tell them what they want to believe in.
