Calling people that disagree with you “truly awful human beings” as Professor Mann did, is about as contrary to sincerely practicing the scientific method as it gets.
Both sides are doing that sort of name calling.
However, there is a massive difference here with Dr. Mann.
Professor Mann, with all his credentials and decades of work has an enormous following. Many tens of millions of people look up to him as he sets an example and helps create the tone for much of mainstream climate science as one of their key spokespeople.
Michael Mann is a Modern Hero and we need to acknowledge that!

Regardless of whether authentic climate science realists agree with people feeling this way about him or not, it’s a fact that they put him up on a pedestal.
He should be held to a much higher standard because of the responsibility that comes with his position and huge following. He is clearly violating that trust which people have in him by constantly digressing with unprofessional behavior and ANTI scientific messages like that one above.

Note: I believe in the physics of beneficial greenhouse gas warming from increased atmospheric CO2 (290 ppm to 420 ppm) that has caused the current scientific climate optimum for most life on this greening planet with its booming biosphere. Currently we are experiencing the best weather/climate for life in over 1,000 years(the last time that it was this warm, during the Medieval WARM period).

The United Nations created the IPCC to HIJACK climate science and REWRITE CLIMATE HISTORY for political agenda! This shows them doing it with 100% certainty!!!
1. In 1990, they used all the long accepted, peer reviewed paleoclimatological studies (over 100 of them) that showed the Medieval WARM period, almost 1,000 years ago was warmer than this.
2. 2001: During the next decade, they schemed with the assistance of several others, specifically, dishonest/corrupt climate scientist, Michael Mann(who used 1 tree ring study to base his entirely NEW/CORRUPT version of climate history on) to completely rewrite climate history. The NEW version wiped out the long accepted Medieval Warm Period that has massive proof from rock solid evidence, like the Vikings in Greenland living in places that are covered by ice today.
3. 2013: More of the same but trying to make it look like they were using numerous sources THAT THEY NOW CONTROLLED! Most of the 100+ OLD, authentic studies that strongly contradict their fake climate history have all been discarded!
4. In 2021, in order to really scare people for their agenda, they created the most extreme graph/version of all that has very little climate history authenticity associated with it.

With climate change, permafrost is thawing & releasing carbon. But there are other issues: 1) Thaw makes it hard for northerners to hunt & fish. 2) Permafrost stores enough mercury & arsenic to contaminate most of the planet. 3) Thaw -> failing roads, pipelines, runways.
This is good news Dr. Turetsky. Once the permafrost is gone, then trees can again grow as they did in the past. You do realize we are still thawing out from the Little Ice Age - and the warming is expect to continue many more years - before cooling again.
