We live in the best age of human history with regards to technology, science, medicine, education/communication opportunities and more.

I just re-read bear's post from January 2020.
Sure thing about most of those points about the 50's and 60's being better but so often I find lately that my thinking actually finds these things not so much better or worse -in general- as they are different.
Hmmmm
John
Thanks much, John.
Everything is relative to other things.
If we go from a horrible situation to something resembling normal, it seems awesome.
How many times did we get real sick and even before being fully recovered, seems like we feel better than we did before becoming ill.
And it goes the other way very frequently in today's age. We've known the wonderful conveniences and privileges in our lives for many years. So long that they define what we expect at a minimum.
Expectations of what is normal to us today.........in an age where most poor people in the great USA in 2023 have it better than kings and queens did 160 years ago.
Better than a king/queen in the 1800's but not good enough for 2023.
We should NOT ignore some really bad stuff, especially being caused by our corrupt politicians but that doesn't take away all the really good stuff related to technology and related realms.
Knowing this is a key to maximizing the enjoyment of it.
