Crop ratings will fall on Tuesday. In some states without much rain, possibly BIG drops.

Rains the last 7 days

Rains the last 14 days

Rains the last 30 days

Temps were on the cool/mild side last week, which will keep the drops from being too excessive:

U.S. #corn conditions fall 3 pts on the week to 64% good/excellent and #soybeans fall 2 pts to 63%, though spring #wheat jumps 7 pts to 66%. Winter wheat harvest was slower than expected last week, and 7% of corn has entered the pollination stage.

Same for #soybeans: health declines were the greatest last week for the eastern belt and mid-south, which are in serious need of rain. 63% good/excellent compares with 59% a year ago, though crops were more advanced at this point last year.

U.S. #corn conditions slide again and are now even with the same week a year ago at 64% good/excellent. Larger declines seen in states where the dryness has been most pronounced and widespread (Indiana, Kentucky).Image
