Russian Bonds

There was an incident in 1998, when Russia could not make a required bond payment.This was a bond based on domestic currency.

Russia also has a bunch of bands based on “foreign” currency, such as the US Dollar and the Euro.

Yesterday, one of such bond payments was due.  Russia first said that payment would be mad in rubles, but today's news says it was paid in Euros.   .
