Gunter would be proud of your cherry picked disinformation mcfarm!

Time to lay the actual authentic facts on you.

One would have expected that an extremely rural, closed community like the Amish would not have have COVID as bad as the urban settings, with their dense populations.

Turns out that the rates before vaccinations were similar to some of the bigger cities.

Closed but Not Protected: Excess Deaths Among the Amish and Mennonites During the COVID-19 Pandemic

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34117598/

The excess death rate for Amish/Mennonites spiked with a 125% increase in November 2020. The impact of COVID-19 on this closed religious community highlights the need to consider religion to stop the spread of COVID-19.

metmike: Let me help demonstrate how this site tries to mislead us.

Vaccinations, Reported COVID Cases Remain Low In Ohio's Amish Country

https://news.wosu.org/coronavirus/2021-10-18/vaccinations-reported-covid-cases-remain-low-in-ohios-amish-country

"Holmes County in northeastern Ohio has the worst vaccination rate in the state — just 17% — and yet, the county has the state’s lowest rate of COVID spread.

For Holmes County’s roughly 23,000 Amish citizens — nearly half the county — COVID-19 is a fact of life."

metmike: Sure seems like evidence that NOT getting vaccinated is NOT causing them to have more cases based on the headlines/title of the story............but wait, there's some key facts they DON'T tell you.

Amish people, unlike most everybody else, when they get COVID,  don't get tested........and a positive test is the way that we measure the rates of COVID for all communities.

So their low rate of COVID is just from Amish  NOT getting tested.

How do we know that with certainty?

Buried way down in the story, they mention this:

"While Holmes County’s case rate is lower than the state average, its hospitalization rate is slightly above the state average, and its death rate is well above the state’s average."

That's the proof that not getting vaccinated is killing more people in Amish country.........even if they are not getting tested!

The complete opposite of what the headline wants you to believe.

the guy sharly was interviewing plainly and accurately reported that nearly all the amish had covid. He was not hiding anything, In fact he said the amish when taking part in church share the same cup. He stated what you stated, very high rates early and now nearly complete herd immunity. Why do you insist on taking such a Biden type of preachy mandated tone whenever some story about covid is posted? I never made a comment as to if their system is good or bad but it is different and for reason that is devil like to you. I have no dog in this fight and I just want this virus gone but guess what, thanks to the chinamen, fauci and few select others this damn virus is here so how about castigating them for a change.

The guy also honestly said the amish do not participate with big gov, public schools or big health organizations. Why test he said, we have mostly all had the covid or expect to have it. They seem to trust their God as they always have done and not the ways of "the English"

Sure mcfarm, the title of the link that you sent

"How the Amish Defeated Covid without Vaccines…"

https://citizenfreepress.com/breaking/sharyl-attkisson-how-the-amish-defeated-covid/

......was the perfect blue print for the rest of us to follow, so we can all stop getting vaccinated and do what the Amish did(-:

The truth is that they DIDN'T defeat COVID.

And since you want to defend it, instead of acknowledging the authentic  facts.......this is your source:

Citizen Free Press

Citizen Free Press - Right Bias - Conservative - Republican - CredibleFactual Reporting: Mixed - Not always Credible or Reliable

"Overall, we rate Citizen Free Press Right Biased for story selection and Mixed for factual reporting due to some poor sources and a complete lack of transparency"

Wouldn't it make much more sense to recognize the valid  facts/points instead of stretching the reasoning like a pretzel to defend it?

I'm not here to take political sides or defend anybody or take sides.......Biden, Fauci, Trump. Doesn't matter.

The truth doesn't have a political party!

Again, I'm sincerely grateful to you for posting the link here.

There were likely thousands of other people that watched the story and thought that the Amish way of doing things has allowed them to beat COVID....because that's what the title stated and that's what the story tried to convince the viewer of.

Almost none of those viewers did a fact check.

They believed it, entirely because it appeared on one of their favorite sites that they trust.

But the Amish HAVEN"T discovered a non vaccination method to beat COVID. This is just disinformation meant to support the anti COVID vaccine, anti government, anti Fauci narrative and reinforce the disinformation.

There are actually ways to help beat COVID IN ADDITION to using the best way(vaccinations).

I've provided them objectively here too and am not somebody that says vaccine ONLY and the other stuff is bad.

Of the numerous ways to help beat COVID..........

One party has some of it right.

The other party has some of it right.

I'm just taking the best from both sides. Again, the truth doesn't follow politics.

i find it interesting that the young female professors at wvu used about the same kind of methodology that i used to calculate covid death rates.   take a past general death rate, and look at the increase.
