As we know, and as has been demonstrated,  the top criteria is political leaning.

US Taps Three More Military Bases to House Afghan Refugees, Expands Upper Limit to 50,000

https://www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_breakingnews/us-taps-three-more-military-bases-to-house-afghan-refugees-expands-upper-limit-to-50000_3968124.html?utm_source=newsnoe&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=breaking-2021-08-27-2&mktids=365c52d81bd117aab07b0dce86f4182d&est=w7pVCGyvojwv83m2evuXUmby5VuW0%2FqkW%2ByWu35WTvI5f1YUp80bTjw0LKDdmw%3D%3D

The Department of Defense has authorized three additional bases to accept refugees, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters in Washington.

They are the U.S. Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia; Fort Pickett in Virginia; and Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico.

The expansion of the number of bases able to house the evacuees means up to 50,000 can be accepted, according to Kirby.

U.S. Northern Command is coordinating details on the evacuations with the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Health and Human Services.

“The secretary has been clear that if we need more because the demand is there, we will work the states and work with the services to identify potential future U.S. military installations, but those are the ones we are operating from now,” Kirby said.

From 3 a.m. Eastern Time on Aug. 26 to 3 a.m. Eastern the next day, the United States flew or facilitated flights for approximately 12,500 people from Kabul. Since Aug. 14, the United States has evacuated or facilitated the evacuation of approximately 105,000 people.

The vast majority are Afghans. They’re being shuttled to countries around the world, but no country is poised to take more than America, which is doling out Special Immigrant Visas and other papers to let the refugees in.

Authorities are using special powers to waive the visa requirement for some of the Afghans. Administration officials claim all the evacuees are vetted before being brought to the United States.

It’s not clear how many Afghans have arrived in the United States. The evacuation flights are first stopping at other countries like Germany before continuing on to America.

Bases in other countries were set to receive on Thursday about 19 flights and approximately 5,000 passengers, Maj. Gen. Hank Taylor, the Joint Staff for Regional Operations deputy director, told reporters in Washington. Another six flights with about 3,300 people were set to depart from Europe to the United States.

“More evacuees continue to arrive stateside and are moving to designated installations throughout NORTHCOM,” Taylor said.

new numbers indicate 7% of the people we got out are Americans...we should stop all refugees until all Americans are out with this new terrorist attack....as if this is some radical idea none in DC had thought about

The more I analyze how this happened and where it's headed, the more it appears to be intentional by this administration to accomplish one of their crystal clear top priories......... greatly increasing immigration.

It was seems to be totally botched but that botching, is actually paying dividends to allow them to maximize the real objective.............increased support to allow massive numbers of Afghans into this country.  Not just now but in the future and not just from Afghanistan.

On the southern border, we can justify turning  our backs and be cold hearted to those people from Central America,  who we can't relate to and owe nothing to...........but they still continue to pour in at an unprecedented rate. Many were facing a crisis back home and just want a better place to live.

However, we have come to know the Afghans very closely this month and been told story after story after story of their horrible plight, with touching pictures and video of them to go with the words and that THEY were assisting us(not the other way around).

I am totally not denying how bad it is over there and not saying how many should get in....... but horrible conditions exist for a couple of billion of other people on the planet that we will never know are out there.

How do we decide who gets in?

One way, is to have a political apocalypse like this that makes us feel responsible for what, in reality are millions of innocent Afghans that will now be subjected to primitive Sharia Law.

Are they worse off than Central America? Africa?

There are billions of people on the planet that would benefit by moving to the United States.

Since, with 100% certainty,  a top priority for the Biden Administration is to get as many of those people in as they can and with 100% certainty, this event in Afghanistan does exactly that more effectively than anything else ever could........and with 100% certainty, they know that and with 100% certainty they are driven by politics, it seems impossible to think that it just turns out to be a coincidence that  a bunch of clueless decision makers, in the end just happened to get lucky ........ in accomplishing that key objective. This IS BY DESIGN and it's BRILLIANT!

They may have miscalculated key parts of the plan because of incompetence and focusing on the wrong objective that made Biden and company look like neutered, clueless  buffoons but they are not as ignorant as it appears.

Most of the world looks at the exit strategy (getting out was good)  as an embarrassment and huge defeat for the US and huge victory for the Taliban.

But if your MUCH BIGGER objective is to open the doors to an additional 200 thousand+ immigrants( then, even after this event, it's a much easier sell to get others in from the Middle East-or other places, suffering similar circumstances in the future) it's a massive victory on that front. This lays the ground work for a more favorable immigration policy. Of course it does!

I've been a chess coach to 3,500 students at 5 schools the past 25 years. The key to success is to being able to see several moves ahead, including what your opponents strategy is to eventually accomplish the objective............win the game.

One of the most brilliant moves in chess is to sacrifice a very powerful piece(s) .......which makes the opponent think they are crushing you. But that piece(s) is just bait to distract the other side into missing the REAL strategy...........the winning strategy.

In chess, that winning strategy captures the king. In Afghanistan, what appears to be a horrible tactical blunder and devastating loss........is only a momentary sacrifice. It's a huge sacrifice and bigger than anticipated but after it passes(and it will) ...........the stage is set to reap the rewards which are PERMANENT and MUCH BIGGER than this loss in the big picture. The dynamic in Afghanistan has totally shifted the immigration game into a new realm. The republicans and anti immigration crowd are totally neutered when it comes to objecting to Afghans coming to this country. These immigrants are seen by everybody, not just as seeking political asylum as refugee's  but as loyal allies that supported the brave US soldiers and US cause over there the past 20 years. We connect to them and sympathize with their plight. They deserve to get in!  This is the core fundamental frame of mind which supports immigration!!!!  I was watching CNN yesterday and one of their main anchors was pontificating a case for why the Afghans that get in ALL deserve to get in.  She was focusing on the immigration element to all of this. I could tell that she sees this strategy totally.        This hidden strategy is actually brilliant and has everybody, (other than the far left, like AOC, that see it exactly)  caught completely off guard and oblivious to it.

Is this far fetched?

Absolutely not. I am becoming increasingly convinced this IS THE REAL STRATEGY!

In chess, it's a well known tactic that experienced players use to gain an advantage and  it often wins games. It always  seems like a really dumb move at the time by their opponent, that takes the bait.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacrifice_(chess)

In chess, a sacrifice is a move giving up a piece with the objective of gaining tactical or positional compensation in other forms. A sacrifice could also be a deliberate exchange of a chess piece of higher value for an opponent's piece of lower value.

Any chess piece except the king may be sacrificed. Because players usually try to hold on to their own pieces, offering a sacrifice can come as an unpleasant surprise to one's opponent, putting them off balance and causing them to waste precious time trying to calculate whether the sacrifice is sound or not, and whether to accept it. Sacrificing one's queen (the most valuable piece), or a string of pieces, adds to the surprise, and such games can be awarded brilliancy prizes.[2]

Introduction to Chess Tactics: Sacrifices

https://www.chessstrategyonline.com/content/tutorials/introduction-to-chess-tactics-sacrifices

A sacrifice is when one player gives up a piece, either for nothing or in exchange for one of lesser value, in return for some other advantage.  Because it is normally important to keep your pieces safe and avoid having them captured, sacrifices can have great surprise value.  For many players, when a sacrifice works it is one of the most exciting and appealing parts of the game, and many tournament brilliancy prizes have been awarded to players of beautiful sacrifices.  Some grandmasters, such as former world champions Alexander Alekhine and Mikhail Tal, are especially popular with chess fans because their games contain many spectacular sacrifices.

In chess, a queen sacrifice is a move giving up a queen in return for tactical/positional advantage or other compensation.
