4% of U.S. #corn has reached maturity and 3% of #soybeans are dropping leaves, in line with recent averages.

Spring #wheat harvest is well ahead of normal at 77%.

Corn and soy conditions fell, which was expected, but this time of year the health decline is normal.

U.S. precipitation and temperature anomalies so far in August versus those since July 1. Western Belt has been dry but central IN and northern IL also stand out. Warmer weather has been most prominent in the north and east, but cool anomalies haven't prevailed in core Corn Belt.

The record U.S. soybean yield still sits in 2016. This is what the weather looked like in those same periods.

The east was warm, but Midwestern rainfall was record - quite a difference from this year.

Not saying this year is bad, but this is the weather that got us there in 2016.
