Pres. Biden gave the commencement speech at the Coast Guard Academy.
I found it interesting that 1/3 of the graduates were female.
Pres Biden addressed this issue, when he said...
".... a Chinese saying that says "Women hold up half the world.” It’s an absolutely stupid position not to make sure they represent at least half of what we do. “
Does this mean, he wants the military to be half female?
Actually, he was misquoting Chairman Mao Zedong, who said “Woman hold up half the sky”, when he ordered women in China to leave their homes and go to work in factories.

The Coast Guard was the first military service to open its ranks to women and minorities in the late 1930's. the Coast Guard has evolved into the most liberal/strict of all the Branches. Women can hold any job but one,that is Rescue Swimmer. I think I read somewhere that they opened that rate to women.
