Problems on the Mississippi

Bridge is in danger of collapsing. Bridge is closed. Barges on the river are backed up for miles.

Some say, they may reopen the bridge again... Others say, it will take months to get it fixed.

In the meantime, no barges going down the river

It looks like barge traffic is now allowed to continue under the bridge after some 1000 barges came to a stand still both north and south

Corn and soybeans were the major commodity travelling south to large boats for export
