What a day here in penna,it was a high of 96 with 76 percent humidity. Philly had a heat index of 109 degrees. We just had an awesome line of thunderstorms, three inches of rain in an hour. Met mike, you should have been here!

Well Mike, there aint much in the way of crops over here at the Jersey coast that the heat will damage but its killing me.  My A/C is on the fritz and I wont be getting any help for a couple days even from the subs I use.

Bunch of in-grates    lol

We grow 400 acres of sweet corn for a big operation that grows sweet corn from Florida to Toronto, Ont

They have contracts to supply corn yr around in major super markets

Bird damage is our biggest problem

We plant in 35 acre blocks so irrigation and harvest moves along with maturity

We have tassels every where, maybe 50% and some is approx. 12" high

Harvest usually starts approx. July 15

 This yr might be earlier

When harvest starts we have fresh corn every day

Goona start spraying for bugs/worms next week
