what we know so far.... the corona virus is much more contagious than the flu viruses. The fatality rate of the corona virus is much higher than that of the flu viruses

Yet, here are the current stats for the US...

Corona:

deaths:   2

confirmed as infected: 86

Flu:

deaths: 16,000

hospitalized: 280,000

Excellent point Gunter!

Another good point that your article makes is that the flu shot is only around 50% effective against the flu, depending on the strain.

That's because their are different strains of the flu they will only inoculation you with the dead virus of 1 strain, the one that they think will be the more virulent.

If you are exposed to a different strain, you are vulnerable.

A lot of people get flu shots, then get the flu and think the shot didn't work. It was protecting them from a different strain.

With the Coronavirus, it seems likely that the vaccine will be MUCH more effective than 50%, maybe over 95%???

There are not different strains of it.

We hear different things about how long it will take before its available to the public, many think something like a year.

There has to be some lengthy studies/testing to be near certain they have it right. Can you imagine if they messed up and the vaccine GAVE some people the Coronavirus?

Wow! Then you would have fear of the Coronavirus and fear of getting the Coronavirus vaccine.

It today's world and the way people speculate and say crazy unsubstantiated things, there is a high chance that somebody who gets the shot, will also get the Coronavirus and there will be headline news that the Coronavirus vaccine can give you the virus.
