The fluctuations are dizzying...gas was only 36 cents per gallon in 1970!

I get a bit of a chuckle when I hear people getting nostalgic  about .32 cent gas.

Tim, all I can say is that in 1962, as the single wage earner, I put $,2000 down on a $18,500 house, and had bought my wife a 1 and 1/2 caret engagement ring for which I paid $900 .

I was making $3 an hour as a draftsman.
