Fake news or real?or how to become media savvy: Confirmation bias

https://bethelks.libguides.com/c.php?g=591268&p=4194631

"Confirmation biases impact how people gather information, but they also influence how people interpret and recall information. For example, people who support or oppose a particular issue will not only seek information that supports their beliefs, they will also interpret news stories in a way that upholds their existing ideas and remember things in a way that also reinforces these attitudes."

that theory starts with the user of news and is true. Just as easily a user could see how supposed "news" organizations like cnn and the NY Times, who once employed real journalists, have let them down time after time which leads to the user reaching his conclusion....nothing about his bias or looking to reinforce his bias, just the opposite. He was just looking for news and found fake instead.
