Forth warmest day of the last 120 years. On the history of the world clock, that's the forth warmest second of the last week.
It was indeed, as the slow, beneficial warming continues.......and the massively beneficial CO2 continues to increase.
The satellite temperature measurement was also similar in 2018:
2018 was 6th Warmest Year Globally of Last 40 Years
Let's see how they decided to frame this beneficial warming:
"In addition, mass loss from the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets continued to contribute to sea level rise."
Sea levels are still only going up a bit more than 1 inch/decade.
“The impacts of long-term global warming are already being felt — in coastal flooding, heat waves, intense precipitation and ecosystem change,” said Schmidt."
This is true, there has been a slight increase in all of those(some of the ecosystem changes are improvements).
However, what's most significant is what they intentionally did NOT include in the report.
Last year was a continuation of the best weather/climate for life on this planet the last 4 decades............since the Medieval Warm Period, 1,000 years ago that was this warm. Even polar bear numbers have been increasing over the last decade(supposedly, in the place that is facing the most adversity because of the higher warming rates in the coldest places)
Last year was a continuation of the earth massively greening up from that beneficial weather/climate and increasing CO2. All plants are growing at an average of around 25% faster. Trees even faster than that. We are feeding more than 1 billion additional people on the planet..........just because of the benefits of climate change to crop yields, on top of the technological improvements.
Tornadoes set a record in 2018. For the first time in history, not one violent tornado. Lowest tornado fatalities in history. Wonder why that gets zero press time, after all, when you warm the highest latitudes the most, you decrease the meridional temperature gradient and DECREASE some types of extreme weather, like violent tornadoes.
And once again, all the global climate models were too warm in 2018. Also, once again the global climate models continued to be used so that they can support crazy narratives like "we have just 12 years left" before climate change destroys the planet. And once again, every extreme weather event(all of them happening previously in history) got blamed on human caused climate change.
We kicked off the new year, 2019 with some memorable human caused global warming extreme weather................record cold!

You can tell when somebody is selling you something and its not real science.
Real science could not put an exact time line on when a disastrous tipping point, with no return would happen..............especially since ALL their previous reports were way too warm and alarmist.
As it becomes obvious they have been too warm, and the planet is doing great, the response is to create a reality(that does not exist, except on computer simulations of the atmosphere going out for 100 years) of it being even worse then they thought to get us to act.
Like TV commercials. "You have only 12 minutes to call in order to get this once in a life time sale" Or..."only the first 100 people calling will get this offer, so you must act immediately or lose one time opportunity!"
Their position is that in exactly 12 years or at exactly 1.5 Deg C. warmer than what it used to be, the planet will enter a catastrophic climate regime unless we act right now!!!
They don't tell you that at every other time in our planets history, when it was at the temperature which they say is going to cause catastrophe.............most life did BETTER, not in spite of the warmth but because of it.
The planet is exploding with profound signs of loving the additional CO2(still less than half of the optimal level for life) along with the warming................benefits outweigh negatives by almost 10 to 1...............but we only hear about the exaggerated and even made up negatives.
What would happen if we cooled the earth back down to the temperature of 100 years ago and CO2 levels back down to 280 parts/million from the current 408 ppm?
Alot of, mostly bad things...........including over 1 billion humans starving to death within 3 years because of the crop yields/food production plunging by 25%. Food prices would likely triple as we rationed the severe shortages.
