One reason that I've not commented on this is that I'm a UFC fan.
However, I have been torn by the fact that Donald Trump appears to be using the government and his position to reward an entity that he greatly benefited from personally.
This guy was just on CNN and blew my mind. I have never listened to a better communicator, explaining authentic facts in a more crystal clear way.

I like UFC fighting a great deal but this was really dumb, very corrupt and political with Donald Trump using the government and presidency for blatant self serving interests that continue to define him and demonstrate that he's unqualified to be the president of the United States .

I don't believe for a second that Fox viewers from MAGA religion are turning on their God.
However, this is one of the huge problems with the event.
UFC fighting being turned into a corrupt, political stunt on the White House lawn WILL BACKFIRE badly for the sport.
Here's why.
1. Most UFC fans won't care and will remain UFC fans forever, including me because we watch to see the fights.
2. The majority of Americans strongly disapprove of Donald Trump. Those in this category that are not very loyal UFC fans will have reason to turn on the UFC.
3. The majority of Americans are against this. That should be enough to use common sense and realize it's a bad idea. Add the massive corruption and politics and other than MAGA, UFC fans this blows up in the UFC's face.
4. The UFC thinks this is a wonderful way to showcase their sport. It's the complete opposite when the dynamics feature corruption and being tied at the hip to the most unpopular president in history.
5. The UFC will gain almost no new fans but will lose many more than they gain. Again, MAGA religion believers will support anything and everything. Non MAGA is the vast majority of Americans. This also comes at a time when we should expect our president to be addressing serious inflation, the war and other issues that are the most important part of his job. Instead, he's tied up with a corrupt scheme and entertainment on the White House lawn of all places. Bad look. REALLY bad look for the UFC!!!!
I'm still a fan of the UFC no matter what.

Think of the mindset of a president that continually does things that only his captured brains in MAGA religion support. If a D were doing the same things, almost all of them would be strongly against it which means his only support is coming from people that don't necessarily believe in his agenda but instead, follow him from blind allegiance, no matter what he does.
The Iran war is the quintessential example.
He promised "no new wars" hundreds of times to get elected.
MAGA supported this agenda strongly.
What happened when he started an unprovoked, unjustified, illegal war in Iran? MAGA pretended like he never made the "no new war" promises and instead of holding him accountable, they flipped their position to support the war in Iran because the leader of their cult started it.
Most of the people in this country that continue to support his war are MAGA. Many of them continue to insist that the high gas prices are not because of him and the war
Anyways, this is the group that will strongly support the UFC fighting on the White House lawn today.

I understand the mentality of many of these fighters. They are pretty crazy and say crazy things. You almost need that mentality in a crazy sport like this that features the most intense aggressiveness and physicality in all of sports and it requires a unique mentality that will often think and say crazy things.
So this is nothing huge considering the sport and should be taken with a grain of salt except for 1 part of it.
President Trump, against the preference of the vast majority of Americans, based on his corrupt relationship with this sport used his position as the president of the United States to host an event on the White House lawn.
This wasn't one of Donald Trump's hotels or Donald Trump's property's. The White House and surrounding area belongs to the AMERICAN PEOPLE. It was a very bad look to begin with but the massively corrupt underpinnings for personal gain that led to this decision made it an egregious violation of Donald Trump's role as president of THE PEOPLE. When you do things that less than 20% of Americans approve of that are basically hair brained, publicity stunts that demean your office and demean our government in the people's eyes, you better have a dang good reason or you are proving clearly to NOT be the president of the people.

Under these conditions, Donald Trump decided to make the UFC fighters his guests to showcase an event at the White House that he wanted Americans to watch. He is totally responsible for the event and what his guests do and say. Unfortunately for him, one of his guests made an extremely insulting remark against a family member of a previous president. Ironically, Donald Trump himself is constantly insulting, making unsavory personal insults and attacking President Obama with most in this industry understanding this.
So the comment by the fighter was very consistent with Donald Trump's own words on this topic. Not shocking at all. And Donald Trump refusing to comment or condemn it? Not shocking at all.
Just another example of the man that constantly attacks blacks and women that disagree with him as having "a low IQ" of displaying the most profound pathological thinking, ignorance, corruption, self aggrandizement and rejecting of what Americans want in history.
