I moved it to NTR for you, cutworm, even though I think this is part of the war dynamic which is the main factor dominating several markets.

There is an impossible to draw/define perfectly gray area of political opinions compared to authentic NOT political facts.

In fact, the same topic can be an authentic fact for many people,  while being a political opinion for others.

The same topic can be an authentic fact AND a political opinion for the same person which happens very frequently when people THINK that their political opinion is BASED ON authentic facts.

This particular topic is an example.

Rs that think Hegseth was justified in firing this highly qualified general can claim it was based on authentic facts and his right to fire people that disagree with his politics or decisions.

For me, the authentic fact is that he fires so many people that disagree with or challenge him. Is this political?  For me, I'm reporting Pete Hegseth's being political based on authentic facts of him firing people that don't agree with his politics.

Is reporting Donald Trump's political decisions impacting the price of crude also political???  Crude almost never trades politics. However, during this war in Iran, the most important factor impacting the price of crude is political news from Donald Trump mouth and the leaders in Iran.

So how far do we go in using the political news impacting the war in Iran in our analysis of the crude oil?

I can see cutworm's point, that Hegseth firing a top level general that disagrees with him, despite it being in the middle of the war MIGHT be going too far even though its those generals that are supposed to be leading our military in the attacks. In most wars, they are directly responsible for the much of the decision making and in this case, those decisions are driving the price of crude to double what it was previously.

What if, instead Donald Trump fired Pete Hegseth for not dropping enough bombs on Iran or some other reason related to the war (that could never happen). That would certainty be news worthy in a discussion about the price of crude.

Regardless, its a messed up dynamic that will feature a ton of disagreements between me and MAGA people on the forum.

In the crude and stock market thread, it would be impossible right now to NOT include politics. Sometimes I get carried away but much of that is from how my wife describes me "You over analyze everything"!!!  At least this is the perfect place to be OVER analytical!!!

I appreciate posters/readers that disagree with the politics not taking it personal.

And I can see cutworm's side here in bumping the post down from it's original trading forum location.  I did that for tjc for another post that justifiably belonged down here.

The bottom line is this:

And since this thread is now in the NTR forum, I can add this that would never belong on the trading forum:
