Knee jerk reaction and fast drop was simply a great buying opportunity. That's the kind that can make a Friday workday very short indeed. Sadly, we have rain today so maybe some indoor pursuits are in order.
OR as Joe K used to say after profits and wanting to trade more..."I'm playing with house money". I always had to cringe a little when hearing that. * Re: What a difference 35 minutes makes... was it 2.5 vs exp 2.7?
mkt can't sit till
* Re: What a difference 35 minutes makes... There is always something else always another variable. This is non-linear dynamics at its best.
Mostly, what we have as a framework to shape our opinions and thoughts about markets--the best one anyway in my opinion--is the chosen time frame through which we view a market. * Re: What a difference 35 minutes makes... i want a bear mkt we deserve a bear mkt.

i want down 4k dow pts * Re: What a difference 35 minutes makes... I'm not sure if I detect a hint of sarcasm or not but if one is a buy and hold type then yes a drop of 4,000 in the DOW could present some opportunities of a generational nature.
I wish the public at large would embrace the notion that money can and is made when stocks go down. Imagine if that were so. We may not have viewed the drop of DOW 14,000 to 6600 as a crisis but a huge opportunity on both ends. The government would not have needed to spend or commit epic amounts of cash because the market would simply be doing what it does and people en masse would have made or lost as much as when it went up.
I really thing that media and government should spend more time and effort to change public perception to not fear downward movements in markets. Such movements are only a problem if one is long and does not recognise the option of being short for profit. * Look at these stocks go... down 120 to up 27! One would think that report was great news. * Re: What a difference 35 minutes makes... what publ;ic?

Dang!! Back to school for me. * Re: What a difference 35 minutes makes... Geez a voice of reason, no place for that here... :) Reply to 'What a difference 35 minutes makes...' |
