The Dow closed higher on Friday. The U.S. posted another solid round of hiring in July with some 157,000 new jobs were created despite widespread complaints among businesses about a shortage of skilled labor.The increase in hiring fell below the 195,000 forecasted but job gains in May and June was stronger than previously reported. The smaller gain in employment was also a result of governments cutting jobs in education during the summer break and the closure of Toys R Us. Otherwise hiring may have topped 200,000. Unemployment, meanwhile, slipped below 4% to 3.9%, as more people found work. The high-range close sets the stage for a steady to higher opening when Monday's night session begins trading.
