I decided to listen to this great song in the middle of the night. Anyone else here like this? Very memorable intro, powerful lyrics, great melody, unforgettable chorus, and an absolutely fantastic and beautiful guitar solo all in a well-produced video. Totally unforgettable rock classic with tons of energy! This song gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME even 37 years after its release. Amazingly, the group never expected this to be a hit but rather it was supposed to be merely an introductory song in their concerts!!

Agree 100% Larry!

The instrumentals, which is all I listen to in a song are brilliant from this group. The person that choreographed this music video is a genius.

I looked at another one from them and its the same brilliant person doing it. I remember this group and all those songs!

I can see exactly how this song gives you chills for the reasons that you stated.

I have the same thing with numerous songs by composers like John Barry, Hans Zimmer, John Williams and Ennio Morriconi. Or Alan Parsons. Listening to certain songs causes chills and often tears.

Music is extraordinarily moving for many humans.

This is our post of the week. Especially for bringing up such a positive NTR topic at a time when negatives are becoming overwhelming.

The subject of music is endless and almost all positive stuff.

9 Health Benefits of Music

This is also one of the wonderful blessings of living in this age of technology and the internet.

When I was a kid, growing up in Detroit in the 60's/70's,  like everybody of that age, we listened to our favorite radio station to hear the type of music that we liked. However, many of the songs were not favorites. The top hits and DJ determined what was played. If we had a favorite, we could tape it at home off the radio(I had a system like that) or we could buy it at the store.

Comparing today's opportunities to hear our favorite tunes is like the difference between traveling on a jet place compared to using a bicycle for transportation!

You can pick any song, any time on any electronic device anywhere.

And you can pick any group to sample songs they did that you never heard.

And you can pick a type of music to sample music you never heard that matches your love of music.

And some of us REALLY LOVE CERTAIN MUSIC. Just as Larry described to start this wonderful thread.

My wife watches all sorts of movies while I'm several rooms away but can hear the music. There have been 100's of times when I hear the music and can identify the composer, even though I never saw the movie or heard the song.

My favorite of all though is when I hear a powerful/moving piece during the movie. I'l go to the living room and ask her to rewind to the start. Then, I ask for the name of the movie and look up on the internet who it was and will spend hours listening to all their stuff.

Because this happens so often and I would never be able to remember it all, I write it down on a list that I started around 15 years ago, that also has the songs and groups that I knew already. Over 1,000 individual songs listed on 20 or so pages.

It's a compilation of basically every song and group that I ever heard that I love.

There are a dozen obscure songs that I stumble on produced for a show or from my son's video games that nobody ever heard, otherwise.

Here's one, for example. Can you guess where I got it from (-:

This is NOT the type of music that I usually love but it  opened a new door to a world of listening  and understanding video game music/composers(top 10 are Asian):

Who else loves music and what are your favorites?

Music is so powerful for me that I can sometimes remember the first time that I heard a certain song or remember an event or movie because of the music.

Dozens of movies because of the music.

Mom was the same with music too and loved Keener 13 in Detroit, which was the hard rock station. She had the radio playing all day, every day in the kitchen and brought a battery operated boom box with us on 2 week vacations to listen any time we were in a place without electricity.

This is not my favorite music genre in 2023 but they were my first favorites in the 1960's

Sometimes, I don't really care for most of the song but a certain part of the song will completely blow me away from an extraordinarily unique instrumental dynamic.

Elton John had some good stuff but wasn't my favorite. I saw him live in Evansville because my wife liked him so much. However, the refrain on this song blows me away still. I'll play it only to here that part.

https://www.google.com/search?q=elton+john+all+the+girls+love&hl=en&sxsrf=APwXEdf2NErqYvQJ8mC7UQq5215OQME9nw%3A1679849537795&source=hp&ei=QXggZO_zLf-vqtsPvLmx2AQ&iflsig=AOEireoAAAAAZCCGUc1ZiHrMvChOQAod3-zgKqV2Ajn0&ved=0ahUKEwivmOWXh_r9AhX_l2oFHbxcDEsQ4dUDCAk&uact=5&oq=elton+john+all+the+girls+love&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAM6BAgjECc6CAgAEIoFEJECOggILhCKBRCRAjoRCC4QgAQQsQMQgwEQxwEQ0QM6CwgAEIAEELEDEIMBOg0ILhCKBRCxAxCDARBDOgcIABCKBRBDOgoILhCKBRCxAxBDOgoILhCxAxCKBRBDOgcILhCKBRBDOg4IABCKBRCxAxCDARCRAjoKCAAQigUQsQMQQzoLCAAQigUQsQMQgwE6DQgAEIoFELEDEIMBEEM6CwguEIoFENQCEJECOgUILhCABDoFCAAQgAQ6CggAEIAEEBQQhwI6CAguEIAEENQCOgcIABCABBAKOgoILhCABBAUEIcCOggIABCKBRCGAzoGCAAQFhAeOgUIIRCgAToICCEQFhAeEB1QAFi8Y2DAZmgFcAB4AIABiwGIAY8bkgEEOS4yM5gBAKABAQ&sclient=gws-wiz#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:f16e2fd4,vid:-eyjBBcUO9k

And Madonna had incredible instrumentals but I didn't like most of her stuff.

However, I still  remember being in a hotel in St. Louis where we were staying in 1991 while going to 6 Flags Amusement Park. We were watching a Madonna music show because my wife liked her music, not me..........then this song came on. I couldn't stop thinking about that song the rest of the trip And for weeks afterwards.  Had little to do with the words and everything to do with the unique instrumentals. There was no internet back then to look it up.

I really love this video and the ending is the best.

I’ve always had major “ear worm” in my life, which is when  songs gets stuck in your head and play over and over.

and thanks to you, Larry the song you shared with us, It’s the final countdown, has played in my head many hundreds of times the past day, along with Dire Docks 64 and Blues theme, alternating intermittently. Those were songs posted above that I listened to yesterday.

anybody else get ear worm?
