for the year, 2022, y-o-y, total rail traffic is off almost 2%. (container traffic off more, regular carloads off slightly).

for canada, traffic is off by about half of 1%

for mexico traffic is up about 4 and a half %.  

by this measure, yes, we have had a bit of a recession.  

for dec, traffic was off more,  but maybe we can partly blame the weather.
