over the last 6 weeks it has mostly been below normal (temps) here in our area (southern AZ). when temps normally average a high of 75, it had been a high of maybe 67 or up to 71, but not above the average. so mostly cooler than the norm. and we have had frost a bit earlier than normal.
by this friday it will finally get above normal (just a couple degrees), and only for a couple days.
i'm sure that out there somewhere will be a so called left wing climate scientist that will tell us that cooler weather is proof of global warming.
yes, i know this local thing does not represent the country, or the whole globe. and a few weeks does not mean anything about the trend in general.
i hope there is no damage to our citrus trees.

In a pathetic bid to “show results” from the latest global climate-change confab, the Biden administration followed Western Europe’s hysterical lead by signing on to a lunatic “climate reparations” scheme.
It’s beyond outrageous. It won’t even bring any progress in reducing global carbon emissions, the supposed goal of the COP-27 meetings. If it works as promised, it’s just another wealth transfer from wealthy nations to the (largely corrupt) governing class of poor countries.
The just-ended climate talks in Egyptbrought few if any new commitments to reduce emissions; too much of the developed world is racing to find new sources of gas, oil and even coal in the energy crisis triggered by Russia’s war on Ukraine.
So, instead, the “we need some progress” crew opted for vows from wealthier countries, supposedly the biggest climate-change offenders, to fork over funds to poorer ones claiming to have suffered “losses and damage” from climate-triggered natural disasters. (The United States had resisted the deal but caved after the European Union signed on.)
World leaders hope to finalize the fine print (i.e., who pays what to whom, and how) over the next year, but America will surely be squeezed for the biggest sums of all. Meanwhile, China — which spewsmore CO2 than United States and Europe put together — is exempt because UN climate-change rules consider it a “developing” nation.
No matter that Western nations already ship billions to poorer ones, in the form of general economic aid and to promote climate measures. Nor are most of the Third World “climate-caused disasters” clearly that: It’s just that global media, fully on board with the hysteria, refuse to check the favored narrative.
Nor will average citizens of countries that get funds likely ever see a cent of the new aid themselves: The narrative demands ignoring how their kleptocratic leaders behave. These countries count as “victims,” so no questions can be asked.
The biggest affect that CO2 has had on the poor nations is to greatly boost their crop production/yields on crops.
With regards to fossil fuels, they have been a great gift to all humanity.
Sharing them with the undeveloped world is helping to lift them out of poverty......helping to create prosperity.
Pretending that the best weather and climate for life and crops in 1,000 years (the current climate optimum) is a climate crisis is the biggest fraud in all human history and being perpetrated to do exactly what Biden just did.
That's been the plan all along.

If it ever amounts to anything, nations of the West will just shift money from “foreign aid” baskets and funnel it through the UN to make it even less effective for the world’s poor. It will fatten up corruptocrats in third world enclaves and provide bread and honey for UN hollowmen and junketeers. There will be no incentive for the tin pot nations to build sea-walls, stop erosion or do hazard reduction to stop fires — because the worse the catastrophe is, the more money they can ask for in “losses”. So third world governments will be less accountable for their own incompetence as they blame-shift to the West, but they’ll get more dependent on the UN as sugar-daddy.
All in all, it will be a win for creeping communism but a loss for the everyone else. It’s another road to One World Government.
The West doesn’t need to pay the world for imaginary “climate damage”. CO2 is a net benefit worth billions. It has increased crop yields, and plant growth and helped feed the world, it has thickened the forests, increased mangroves, and reduced desertification (Goklany, 2015). There are 18 million more square kilometers of greenery in the world. (Zaichun, 2016). If the temperatures do increase two degrees, and CO2 hits 700ppm, corn is estimated to grow 25% faster and soy beans will boom by 31%. (Qiao et al 2019)
Let’s burn oil and feed the world.
