U.S. #corn & #soybeans are maturing later than last year and average (though they were planted later). Corn & soy conditions were unchanged on the week. Spring #wheat is 71% harvested and the 2023 winter wheat crop is 3% planted.

It's been a long time (11 years in fact) since the market felt this optimistic on CBOT #corn futures relative to #soybeans heading into U.S. harvest. Bean/corn ratio ended at 2.07 Tuesday, the lowest since late May. Corn closed higher Tue but soybeans finished lower.

#Ukraine has begun its 2023 winter #wheat campaign, sowing more than 5,000 hectares as of Tuesday. The planted area could fall around 17% from last year according to the ag minister, but industry estimates vary.

DTN crop tour came out with new numbers. 170 corn and 48.4 beans. Every tour has continued the down trend in yields. Once it starts it continues. Looks likely the sub 168 thing is going to happen.
