All those issues in the past, that once defined the Republican party............strong military, low taxes, controlled budget, free markets, states rights, pro life, war on drugs........just don't matter as much as they did in the past anymore.
After Trump lost, in order to convince the members of the Republican party to vigorously rebel against the party in charge(Democrats) they have quickly morphed into the conspiracy theory party that features paranoia about extreme, non existent/manufactured threats.
Magical vote stealing abilities by the other side with no proof, just wild unproven speculative theories(most totally busted into a million pieces) about why it must have happened that are totally believed nontheless.
Crazy misinformation about a safe COVID vaccine that's in the process of saving hundreds of thousands of lives in the US right now to turn it into a violation of individual rights and freedoms...........resulting in many thousands of( ironically mostly Rebublican) deaths, while trying to convince Republicans that its only just a bad case of the flu...........while the stats all show that believing that has consequences.........death.
Instead of embracing the science and truth, the massively expanding far right has been convinced to believe these are actually measures to take control of their lives(not really to save them, which the facts indisputable prove).
Everybody that dies from COVID, got it from somebody else. But the far rights mantra is screw my neighbor or fellow American, I have a God given right to get COVID and give it to other people and no Democratic led government or Fauci is going to take that right and freedom away from me.

The same playbook used to make us think that cops are the enemy and they hate blacks/are systemically racist........even while they are the only group risking their lives daily to try to make the inner cities safe........FOR blacks. The group doing the most for blacks......is now the enemy of blacks. Never mind the 6 times higher violent crime rate by blacks.........that's not a problem.
Those brainwashes can clearly be seen by the OTHER side but when our own side is similarly brainwashed, using elements dear to OUR hearts/emotions, by definition, we can't see it...........or it wouldn't be a brainwash.
