wow some guesses already out at 175, 177, 179. If it were judged by this map alone none of those would be close.

That's pretty powerful. Sometimes, in my experience, those vegetative health maps can be deceptive to very deceptive.

On the other hand, in this case, one can say with certainty that things are not as well off as last year from looking at that one.

It’s been an interesting year.  With the USDA prediction so high and it’s now getting late into the growing season, a change from that would bring on some fireworks.

Yes, HUGE USDA report out in 4 days.

Very often, the release of that report marks the Summer lows and we almost always go up from there if August is hot and dry.
