From the article:

"There are few historical parallels. Perhaps the closest occurred in the final hours of Bill Clinton’s administration when he issued 170 pardons and commutations, some of which went to people who paid six-figure sums to his family and associates. But even Mr. Clinton, who was seen as flouting protocols, mostly rewarded people who had gone through an intensive Justice Department review process intended to identify and vet the most deserving recipients from among thousands of clemency applications."

metmike: The funny thing about that statement above is that they mention Clinton's abuse of his pardoning power(selling it to people who gave his family money)  but like the MSM likes to do, instead of reporting the news, they interpret the news in a way that sends the message they want portrayed in their story.  Clinton's pardons were ok because the DOJ reviewed them. Ha Ha. That could be some sort of joke after seeing how the DOJ has treated the Clintons with their pretend investigations.

Allowing presidents to pardon people is taking a power that our Constitution gives to the judicial branch and gives it to a politician. In todays extremely political/divisive environment, this is asking for abuse.......political and other motives for granting pardons.

I'll just refer back to my previous comments.

The left has been telling us for weeks that Trump is taking bids from many hundreds of rich Republicans to see who will buy his pardons with their money and influence. Let's see if it actually happens.
