Trump-Hitler-Nazis

No doubt, if you’d ask people who they considered to be the most villainous political figure/party of modern history, you would hear “Hitler and the Nazis”. And rightfully so!

Today, the election of a controversial, non-political figure has divided the country like seen never before in our lifetime. I, myself, am not a “Trumptard.”, as they are often called… I give credit when credit is due, and I criticize when I see something I don’t like (and I do have a list of things I criticize Pres Trump with). Yet, there are some people who are so engulfed in their hatred, they can’t see straight anymore.

Take actor Robert DeNiro, for example…a person, who by profession, is supposed to be well-spoken. And all he could come up with, during the recent awards ceremony, is “F*** Trump”….

This is pathetic! And all this while Trump, at the same time, was heading towards Singapore, in an effort to avoid a nuclear war.

Just as irrational, IMHO, is the never-ending comparison of Trump to Hitler and the Nazis, and ending posts on this forum with a “Sieg Heil!”, when the poster can’t come up with anything more intelligent.

Everybody knows about the atrocities of Hitler and the Nazis, but I would bet that most people don’t evenknow what the term “Nazi” means.

“Nazi” is a slang term for the party that brought Hitler to power, the NSDAP. Translated, this means “Nationalist Socialist German Workers’ Party”

While the component “nationalist’ has much similarity with Trump’s “America first” slogan. The rest is quite opposite from Trump’s ideologies.

The key-words are “socialist” and “worker”. Hitler was a socialist!!! Unlike Trump, who surrounded himself with billionaire industrialists, Hitler hated the rich elite with a passion.

Germany had just come out of a depression and hyperinflation, and the gap between the elite and the poor was huge. In his campaign speeches, Hitler appealed to the ‘worker’. He promised them things that only the rich could afford, including, for example, cars that a worker could afford, ( at that time, cars were very rare, and only the very, very rich could afford one)… this eventually morphed into the Volkswagen.

Hitler was so strongly against the rich, that his advisors had to ask him to tone down his rhetoric, considering that these very same rich industrialists could come in handy when it came to building Hitler’s war machine.

Of course, we all know how terribly it all ended…but that’s not the point of this post. Rather, I wanted to point out that comparing Trump to Hitler shows a bit of historical ignorance.

One thing that does come to attention, though…..Hitler used a band of hooligans called the “brown shirts” to terrorize voters and his enemies. There is a resemblance with today’s Antifa group... a group very similar to the “brown shirts”, but wearing black uniforms instead.

In conclusion, when you look at the verbal hatred that was being spewed out by Hitler in his time and is used by the extreme Left of today, the hooligans like the Brown Shirts and Antifa, the socialist theme of Hitler’s campaign speeches, there is indeed a resemblance between the Nazis, as they were at the beginning, and our Extreme Left of today

While I essentially agree with your premise, I have to point out that when it comes to pure evil, the NAZIs are slackers when compared to communists. While the deaths attributed to NAZIs numbers in the 7 figures, communism lays claim to 9 figures. And yet we have a growing population working very hard to establish communism right here in the U.S..  They try to label it as "Democratic Socialism",   but then,  so did Lenin.

Thank you, cliff, for this link, and indirectly making a point for my original post. The link contains a picture of Nazis discouraging customers from shopping at a jewish business.

This is very similar to what has been happening to Sanders and other government official when they tried to eat at a restaurant. They can't even go out and eat in peace.

The picture of your link was from a earlier time of Nazi rule. We all know what happened later.

People working for Trump are now being harassed to the point of having to flee from a restaurant. What is next? Violence?

Conclusion....

There are Democrats, "Libs", people from the left.......mostly good people

There are Republicans, conservatives, people from the right.... mostly good people.

They just have different views in politics.

It's the extremists you have to worry about. And what we see here today on the "Extreme Left"....Antifa, political violence and beatings at UC Berkeley, people like DeNiro, who hate Trump so much they almost have foam coming out of their mouth, bullying customers in restaurants, forum members who seem to be consumed by hatred,... it all looks very much like the Nazis in the early 30s. The only thing that's missing is a leading figure. Once a person like that shows up.....
