Still catching up from my trip to Detroit last week, now up to yesterday.  Read about it and copy one for us.

1925Scopes Trial: In Dayton, Tennessee, high school biology teacher John T. Scopes is found guilty of teaching evolution in class and fined $100.

Back then, he was considered one of us deniers for teaching authentic science which contradicted mainstream, group think dogma about a topic that was settled by the gatekeepers of the knowledge a very long time ago (-:

1983 – The world's lowest temperature in an inhabited location is recorded at Vostok Station, Antarctica at −89.2 °C (−128.6 °F).

1979Jay Silverheels, a Mohawk actor, becomes the first Native American to have a star commemorated in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Jay Silverheels achieved his greatest fame as Tonto on The Lone Ranger. This event struck a chord with me since we old timers remember him as Tonto, but I could not remember the name of the actor playing "The Lone Ranger".

Thank you google. Clayton Moore.

My 93 year old Dad does not use a computer but he has a voice activated google system in his room at the assisted living facility.

He uses it all day long......dozens of times..........to get all sorts of information. The technology today compared to a couple generations ago is unimaginable.

Carl, people from your generation are the last ones to have actually experienced what one might consider, very little technology by today's standards(when you were young)

When did we get techology? How long did it take?

My wife, son and daughter in law were visiting him last weekend with me and he was displaying his prowess using his system and sort of carrying on a conversation with it. Scolding the woman's voice for getting his command wrong and telling us about her flaws.

I'm there enough to see this a lot but they thought that it was hilarious.
