Possibly the magnetic Reversal is causing the crustal shifting which is causing Yellowstone to fire up. I believe the time frame for both is kinda close, that being the same periodicity, about 250,000 years.
Probably belongs in the ntr section. But I agree with you. It would also have an affect on the ability of the earth to be protected from solar radiation. And therefore climate change as well.
