1979Richard Petty wins a then-record sixth Daytona 500 after leaders Donnie Allison and Cale Yarborough crash on the final lap of the first NASCAR race televised live flag-to-flag.

Can't say that I watched this one. I find that NASCAR racing to be extremely boring with a bunch of cars going around in circles for about 497 miles. A one minute highlite  film would just about  cover the excitement.

Wonder if I'll be pillared for this post?

I'm with you on that one carl but am glad that some people REALLY enjoy it.

Now, if we actually got to drive one of the cars, that would be a different deal!
