Timnew, the current caravan already showed their colors, when they were stopped at the Southern border of Mexico. They ran down the border gate and forced their way into Mexico.

A second and third caravan are already forming in other Central American countries. If we don't hold back the first caravan, the US will be totally overrun. Some estimate that "open borders" would bring in 600 mill people. 

Who would pay for free housing, free food stamps, free medical, etc for 600 mill people? It would be a collapse of society. The US would turn into a true "sh*t hole", using Trump's terminology.

Ya know,   see a picture of Trump doing a thumbs up next to a picture of Nixon doing a thumbs up and you now have a valid argument for impeachment.
