The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged higher Friday, capping off its strongest two-week stretch since February in a sign the inflation- and trade-fueled anxieties that had sent the blue-chip index stumbling earlier this year are abating.

It's easy for U.S. investors to ignore what's happening elsewhere in the world, especially when returns in the markets they follow most closely are strong. But what's happening in emerging markets could spread and cause trouble even for the high-flying U.S. stock market if the problems those nations face can't get solved quickly.

There could be spillover to be certain,  but right now,  it's chasing money from those markets to the US.
