You may have read the news..... a few days ago, Israel launched a barrage of missiles into Syria, and gave Russia only 1 minute warning. This was not enough time for a Russian surveillance plane in the affected area to leave the scene. The plane was hit by Syrian air-defense, and 15 Russian crew members died.

Russia accused Israel to have intentionally used their aircraft as a cover to launch their missile attack.
