Was going to skip this date but there were some interesting events:

1957American Civil Rights Movement: Little Rock Crisis: Orval Faubus, governor of Arkansas, calls out the National Guard to prevent African American students from enrolling in Central High School.

1972   – The Price Is Right premieres on CBS. As of 2018, it is the longest running game show on American television.

2002 – The Oakland Athletics win their 20th consecutive game, an American League record.

When I used to do the Noon(did the 5p-6p and 10p too) weather for WEHT in Evansville, IN, the Price is Right would be on the monitors in the studio from 11am-Noon, while I put the magnetic symbols and numbers on the old maps in the early/mid 1980s.
