I would like to take the chance to introduce myself. My name is Grant Dade. I am currently the Chief Meteorologist at KFVS12 in Cape Girardeau, MO. I have been looking for resources to educate myself on trading commodities around weather. I stumbled across this forum and began to read. Lots of great information. I look forward to learning and hopefully being able to contribute to this community. If there are any archived posts you feel I should read, especially on Natural Gas and Oil, point the way.

Thanks!

Love the charts with storage compared to average. I think that information would help when it comes to forecasting a price based on long term weather patterns.

Welcome Grant.... as a trader I really appreciate all and any input from the meteorology sector. Met Mike is a very gracious and generous host here... a very humble, professional man who has been a genuine asset to my trading/chart setups !

...also... kudos for being from the hometown of Rush....

Warm and Wonderful Welcome to you Grant!!!!

I think that you will find the posts in the trading forum under Natural Gas(Day of the Week, M-F) to be extraordinarily helpful in explaining why natural gas is trading a certain way and how the weather is influencing the prices. This is actually the objective of every post under these threads.

As an operational meteorologist, I've been trading natural gas using the influence that weather/temperature has on the price since 1992. WxFollower(Larry) also posts on weather and natural gas on a regular basis.

Larry is self taught but as good as any meteorologist that I know with his weather insights. He is better than anybody that I know personally with some of his statistical reports related to natural gas storage, cooling/heating degree's and related stuff. We have a few others that trade and comment on natural gas here..........jim, tjc and joj come to mind at the moment.

Wxdavid who runs the site WxRisk.com will also drop in every once in a while.

I update the weather reports daily and the natural gas reports 5 times/week, M-F.

You can view those in the Trading Forum. I have no doubt that you have expertise in the field of meteorology and welcome your comments/input related to your forecast philosophy or anything else. I will also send you a free copy of  Jim Wyckoff's latest eBook........"Sharpening Your Trading Skills:  Tools the Winners Use".
