Finally we are  getting more Rs that are breaking free from Donald Trumps authoritarian insanity despite blatant threats by Donald Trump to destroy them if they think or act independently from what he tells them to do.

He will veto this of course, so it’s only symbolic if it makes it past the senate.

Incredible that the Supreme Court is afraid to rule on tariffs because of the consequences.

Ironically, if the Surpreme court does rule that Donald Trump‘s illegal tariffs are illegal and they are rescinded, this will immediately provide tax/inflation relief to the economy, US companies and consumers and pave the way for the Fed to cut interest rates to stimulate the economy without increasing inflation risks.

Its mind boggling that Donal Trump, who is the biggest advocate for interest rate cuts has the exact worst policy for it. He’s single handedly sabotaging his own economic plan.  I still can’t find 1 independent economist that advocates for Donald Trumps tariffs.

And why would they?

They damage everybody. US consumers pay more. US companies pay more. US companies export less. Countries around the world look to replace US  economic relationships. Global manufacturing does not move to the United States as Donald Trump deludes himself with.

Tariffs are a lose, lose, lose, win policy.

The  potential win would be  the government penalizing US companies with the tariff tax  if Donald Trump used it to pay down the debt. But he isn’t. In fact, he wanted to create a tariffs rebate check  for people that was much higher than the tariffs being collected which would make the crushing debt even worse!

He only wants to do that as a stunt to convince people that his epically ruinous tariffs are causing them to be better off and to make Donald Trump look GREAT which is his only priority. While wrecking our country in countless realms.

Six House Republicans break with White House to repeal Trump’s  Canada tariffs

https://nypost.com/2026/02/11/us-news/six-house-republicans-break-with-white-house-to-repeal-trumps-canada-tariffs/

“Any Republican, in the House or the Senate, that votes against TARIFFS will seriously suffer the consequences come Election time, and that includes Primaries!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

++++++++++++++

How many presidents in the past have made a threat like that so blatantly?

Ironically, the Rs are starting to see the writing on the wall and realize that its going to be the exact opposite in the upcoming elections.

Pro Trump loyalists with Trump campaigning for their re election in close elections will LOSE THE MOST VOTES. They will be punished and held accountable the most. This is not just wishful thinking or speculation. We've already had rock solid proof that it started big time.

I live in a red state. One of the politicians running for re election here has been showing the same ad, over and over and over. It features president Trump emphasizing how strongly he supports this guy. It's been running for many months.

Whoever is in charge of that campaign, which is spending thousands of dollars each time that ad runs should be fired immediately.

1. MAGA will always vote for the R party candidate no matter what. A candidate is wasting their money if their appeal is to get MAGA to do what they will do no matter what.

2. It's the NON MAGA votes that campaign money should be spent on to capture. Those are the voters that will make or break elections in districts where money should be spent because candidates need them to get elected. Those key voters are crystal clearly, in unison REJECTING Donald Trump. REJECTING HIM VEHEMENTLY!!!

To be so detached from the real world and continually run expensive political ads that literally cause your guy to LOSE votes because you are using the support of a person that helped over a year ago but is now hurting their party more than any politician in US history is inexcusable.

Those ads for that R literally are generating votes for the other person running against them!!!

I'll list his name next time I see the ad.
