In the past, I've hear jokes about " bubble gum " music. I recently listened to  "  When I fall in love " and I really heard the lyrics  as if for the first time, and was impressed by the sheer poetry .

" When I fall in love It will be forever
Or I'll never fall in love

" In a restless world Like this is
" Love is ended before it's begun
" And too many moonlight kisses
" Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun."

metmike may have an issue with something cooling in the warmth of the sun,  but I just can't get it out of my head.

Another line … from a song by Chicago … haunting me is:

What kind of man would I be, living a life without any meaning?

Thanks carl,

For much of my life, I only cared about  the instrumentals in music, even strongly  preferred music without singing.

My wife is the complete opposite. She listens to the words and singing and knows all the words to countless songs. Maybe being (happily) married (to a wonderful wife) has morphed me into somebody that pays attention to the words more than before.
