UAH v6.1 Global Temperature Update for September, 2025: +0.53 deg. C

 October 2nd, 2025 by Roy W. Spencer, Ph. D.

https://www.drroyspencer.com/2025/10/uah-v6-1-global-temperature-update-for-september-2025-0-53-deg-c/

The Version 6.1 global area-averaged linear temperature trend (January 1979 through September 2025) remains at +0.16 deg/ C/decade (+0.22 C/decade over land, +0.13 C/decade over oceans).

++++++++++++

Always an interesting discussion with lots of debating after Dr. Spencer releases his month report.

Just an interesting fact, I consider Dr. Spencer one of the best sources on the planet for OBJECTIVE, AUTHORITATIVE information on this topic.

I'm proud to say that we both graduated with degrees in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at the University of Michigan. Dr. Spencer a couple years before me, then he went on to get a PhD and is 1,000 times more accomplished in this field, even though our interpretations of the science are in lockstep based on the physical laws that we understand.

I mention this because Dr. Jeff Masters also went to school there with us and I did know him pretty well for a couple of years while attending the same classes and hanging out after class to look at Fax weather maps hanging in the hall, outside of the synoptic lab.

Jeff, also became 1,000 times more accomplished in this field than metmike but has a different interpretation than Dr. Spencer and metmike on the climate crisis(optimum).

I will point out that Jeff, despite being extraordinarily brilliant(with more years in school and better grades than metmike) has not been able to comprehend and dial in the profound positive impacts to the planet from CO2 to the biosphere, including world food production.

In addition, photosynthesis is reducing the amount of heating caused by greenhouse gas warming because photosynthesis converts heat energy from short wave radiation from the sun into chemical energy, stored in the plants (that includes food which humans consume and burn for calories/energy).

In addition, the massive transpiration from a greening planet is also greatly contributing to climate change........as evidenced by the micro climate in the US Cornbelt every growing season.

There are plenty of others like Jeff out there that don't spend enough time with open minds to understand this aspect of climate change. They are more than smart enough but either are too busy or, what is unfortunate don't practice the scientific method authentically because of cognitive bias.
